Hytrin was the first blood pressure medicine that worked for me, without unacceptable side effects. The generic is extremely cheap, too--$4 per month at WalMart without even using my insurance.

I've tried stopping the drug due to tiredness, stuffiness and limp/bent erection, but found I prefer the helpful effects of urinary/bladder comfort. I did increase from 5mg to 10mg daily and find it much better. Dizziness is a problem but I control my activities through awareness.

I have been taking 10mg of terazosin daily for 19 years for BPH. I am symptom free. I get a yearly digital examination and PSA. The only side effect that I have experienced is nasal congestion. A stuffy nose is a small price to pay for complete symptomatic relief. And then there's the added bonus of low normal blood pressure.

I took this drug for 2 days as a way to save money on Rapaflo. It made me light headed. I am going back to Rapaflo to be safe. Hytrin should be banned its not worth taking.

Effective in controlling my BPH symptoms but at overly high tradeoff for me. Too much undesirable side effects for me - headaches, constipation, weight gain, dry (retrograde) ejaculation, less energy and interest in sex, light-headedness.

Five years ago my blood pressure became difficult to control. My physician tried several drugs and combination of drugs to get it to stabilize. When she added hytrin (Terazosin) to the mix, my blood pressure dropped to a stable, acceptable range within two days of use. I also have some problems with prostate enlargement, making it difficult to urinate. The drug has worked well for me and I am still taking it. Different people react differently to different drugs.

I've been taking hytrin since, gosh since it was approved for BPH. I take it before bed. I take lisinopril for BP in the morning. I've found that the Terazosin is very effective. I'm 74, ride 150+ miles/week on a bike, do cross state bike rides (Kansas, for example). In short, my, "life style" would be severely restricted if my BPH was untreated.

Prescribed for prostate/urinary issues. Lightheadedness, low energy, and sinus congestion were some of the side effects I experienced. The cost of the side effects outweight the benefits for me... I'm through with Hytrin.
