I started this med due to an enlarged prostate that was causing a VERY weak urine stream. I find that, as long as I take it on schedule, and don't forget doses, my urine stream has improved a great deal, almost to the level of what I considered normal. Oddly enough, though, I think this has led to another problem. I've developed nocturia and often have to get up from bed to urinate. Now t...

Taking 2 mg before bed. Seldom now need to urinate during the night. Less frequent urination during the day. Stronger stream of urine, starts easier.

I used this in combination with amitriptyline for bladder pain. Ironically they are listed as a potentially problematic combination. It is being prescribed to help with emptying bladder, and amitriptyline is for nerve-ending type of pain. It has eliminated pain, but not sure I can deal with the side affects. Glaucoma runs in our family and that is one of my biggest concerns. I'm also exhausted, have nasal congestion, and swollen hands & feet. Have lately been experiencing sore muscles, but think that is more from the amitriptyline. These side affects are unwelcome, but it's still a better trade-off then my pain. Read More Read Less

I began taking Terazosin 10mg each evening about 6 months ago. I have prostrate cancer and have gone through with radical radiation seeding. Prior to taking the drug, I was up every night several times to urinate. Now can sleep through, stream has steadily increased, but it does leave me a bit tired, and sometimes restless. Overall, has helped.

I am a woman taking this drug to help with nightsweats due to antidepressant use. I think it has helped the night sweats. However I have had a few leg cramps in the two weeks I have been taking it. This is unusual for me. I have also been having "spotting" when it isn't time for my period. Has anyone, obviously the guys won't have that problem. Can anyone relate to these issues?

I have been on terazosin for the past 4 months. At first, the results were dramatic. Although results now are not as dramatic, this medication has provided relief from difficulty in urination. I have had no adverse side effects and am happy with this treatment.

I started this medication with the hopes that I wouldn't have to get up several times/night. I am 50 yrs. old and my sleep was awful. When I started it, it seemed like a God send, but now it's more like a nightmare. I urinate uncontrollably at night and have to wear special underwear and use bed pads. I am going to talk to my Dr. about discontinuing this med.

this medication made me very weak and sick to stomach, made my blood pressure drop very very low, along with heart rate, had to be in bed most the day until I could get blood pressure to raise, stopped after the very first pill. Should have gone to E.R. as B.P. was too low they told me later, could have had stroke. If this is for helping to lower blood pressure and enlarged prostrate? then should be told to patient and not used, I have low pressure to begin with. It was a scary day for my wife and I, and am very leery to take any drug for prostrate, or urinary problems. I did not have prostrate problem when given to me, only complained of getting up a few times at night to urinate, and was prescribed this, I think that Dr.s are not aware of what drugs do to patients, they are told about the drug by representatives and just prescribe them, I believe that Dr.s should have more knowledge of what kind of drugs they prescribe for anything, a pharmacist in their office instead of 10 girls running around would be more beneficial. I see a pharmacist when going to the V.A. and she is more knowledgeable about the interacting of drugs and what to give you and what to change you to when not working than any Dr. that I have been to. Drugs are great except when prescribed for the wrong thing or in the wrong dosage. Also have found some of mine had been recalled by overseas companies and given to me by V.A. and never notified, they were not even the right pills, saw the warning on TV and had to find out by myself. We need more control of where these drugs come from. Read More Read Less

I'm taking 6 mg per day and it has been pretty effective. The thing I really don't like is the increase in heart rate so my resting pulse has been fairly high ~ 95 bpm. I was hoping the pulse rate would stabilize more but evidently, the drug does not necessarily work that way.

I did experience some light headiness at times, but felt much better over time. This med seems to help blood flow and ED problems.
