I am sickened by reading these posts. My 66 year old father was prescribed this medication as an anti-nausea for his terminal pancreatic cancer. This medication makes him see things that aren't there........ like smoke, spider webs, bugs, hallucinate, talk to people who aren't there, sleep for hours on end, etc. He is NOT on any other meds that have any similar side effects. I am mortified tha...

I take a 25mg. tablet, occasionally, at night, when I feel nauseous. It makes me drowsy and relieves my nausea. I sleep well and wake up feeling great.

I first had this medication when I was 21 and came down w/the stomach bug. I have since used it for nausea due to pregnancy, as well as for motion sickness. I should be the spokes model for this company! Yes, it will put you in a 'coma' but when your neauseated that's where you'd rather be anyway!

DO NOT USE THIS MEDICATION IN THE FIRST TRIMESTER OF YOUR PREGNANCY!! My friend and I had the same OB/GYN and he prescribed this drug to both of us for morning sickness. Both of our sons have mis-matched ears.. when I tried to pick it up for the next child the pharmacist handed me a piece of information that said "may cause deformalities in the fetus especially during the first trimester" so I just told him to throw it away. Thankfully it was thier ears and nothing more serious. So far as we know her son is only 5 mine only 7.Read More Read Less

Be careful with this drug with the elderly. It was given to my 83 year old mother. She took a nose dive with her health, she started hallucinating, thrashing, no control of her arms, legs. Next day had 2 massive strokes.

This medication really helped to relieve me from the severe nausea and vomiting. It totally calmed my stomach releived my aching and cramping, and all but totally alleviated my vomiting. It would probably would have worked better if I didn't have such a bad case of vomiting. If I could have kept it down and in my system longer.

I am a former opiate addict (morphine, oxycontin, heroin, hydrocodone, etc) and this was my BEST friend when I was in withdrawal. There are NO OTC nausea meds that work, this is the best thing since sliced bread as far as nausea meds go. I have been clean for 5 years and counting, and I give Phenergan lots of credit for helping me get through the darkest hours of withdrawal. Anyone out there going through this terrible disease, u r in my prayers and just know that there is hope and life after addiction. Most treatment centers will help people with no job or insurance, which is something I wish I had known when I was out there using. Also consider methadone therapy if u can get the money, it saved my life! God bless and stay strong, you are not alone! :)Read More Read Less

The first time was the last time that I took this mess. I was suffereng from HELLP Syndrome, and was so nauseated and vomitous, that I was at the point where I was throwing up bile. One of the Dr.'s put me on a Phenergan drip. In less than 15 miutes of being administered the Phen.,I had a horrible allergic reaction and was had severe full body convulsions. To help with the convulsions, nurses put body length padding by te railings of my bed It did nothing for my nauseau. It was soon removed fom my IV, and I was administered something different. The new nauseau medicine worked wonderfully and helped me to sleep very well.Read More Read Less

I took this medication along with Lortab 5mg to treat severe headaches. Although I still felt the headache, I didn't care that I had it. I also used this medication to help with severe morning sickness when I was pregnant. It was a life-saver for me as I was sick all day everyday.

I currently take a 50mg tablet upon onset of severe stomach pain associated with nausea, and another 50mg about 4 hrs later. I love this medicine. I've tried many, many pain medications, and this is the only one that has actually worked, and worked very, very well.

Did a great job of taking care of my morning sickness; I was pregnant with twins and the morning sickness got so bad they were going to hospitalize me. I must warn, however, that the drowsiness is pretty bad. I couldn't drive or do anything important while taking this drug, but in my mind, it was a small price to pay considering the miracle it did for my mornign sickness.

I have taken phenergan for stomach problems and nausea for a long time - but much more often recently. I am losing my hair at an alarming rate (I am female) and my hairdresser suggested yesterday it might be the phenergan. She said her father took it and not only went bald but lost the hair on his arms and legs. Has anyone else had this problem? And if I quit taking it, will my hair come back?

I became very nauseous after a bad sunburn. Phenergan really calmed me and my stomach and I was able to eat again 6 hours after taking the drug. It also knocked me out for 4 hours. If you have time to lay at home all day, Phenergan is a very effective for nausea.

I took phenergan as a last resort to try and treat my severe nausea and vomiting. I am allergic to all of the other anti-nausea meds. I took this med and had horrible horrible side effects. I was having vision changes, dizziness, felt really out of it and loopy. Will never take it again. Did nothing to help my nausea.

I suffer from chronic kidney stones! I am on percocet 10mg for pain. If I take the percocet alone it makes me itch. If I take phenergan with the percocet it helps control my pain better and keeps the itching away.

I had previously vomitted twice. Remembered I had Phenergan in the fridge and took 1/2 a pill with water. About 30 minutes later threw all that up and took another 1/2 pill. I was nauseous for a long time. On a scale of 1-5, I was about a 3. It made me sleepy so I stayed in bed the rest of the day and night. In the late evening I took another 1/2 pill still feeling nauseous but not bad enough to vomit. Woke up the next day feeling weak but the nausea had pretty much all subsided.
