For me this medication was so helpful. I was so fearful of yet again getting addicted to one drug to escape the pain of letting go of another. I had a sever opiate addiction. Hydro, oxy, morphine, demeroll, methodone, whatever I took all of them for years and was medically detoxed twice nothing worked! i was ready to just accept the fact I may never be able to stay clean until I found a clinic...

I was switched (by my foolish rerquest) from saboxone. I found it to be MUCH weaker in strength. I had terrible withdrawl taking it at the directed dose, and severe anxiety, depression also. Nearly had a nervous breaskdown. This drug is no where near as affective as saboxone has been for me, possibly connected to it being a generic drug, witch are not held to anything like the standards of brand n...

Beats the hell out of shooting dope, but it's really just rich man's methadone. I'm hoping it will be easier to get off of than methadone. Unlike methadone is after first few doses there's really no psychoactive effects. This medication may very well save my life.

I take this for both pain management and abuse. This works for pain and for abuse. For me, it gets rid of my pain without abusing it. In fact I use less then I am prescribed. Its been a blessing. I just think its way to much money.

I have been prescribed to Suboxone/Subutex for 2 years. My Doc switched me to Subutex because insurance stopped covering me bc of my addiction. Subutex has a generic and it was much, much cheaper. Subutex has been hard for me because you can easily abuse it compared to Suboxone. Once Suboxone creates a generic (which is very soon) i will go back on Suboxone. Subutex is more similar to Oxycontin than it is to Suboxone.

I took suboxone to quick after being on a high dose of methadone and it threw me into instant withdrawal !!!! I felt like a mack truck ran me over and I ran to the bathroom every 10 minutes. I had hot/cold flashes, muscle cramps, my nerve endings burned like fire. I pray that no one else makes this same mistake. You have to wean yourself down to a low dose of methadone before taking suboxone. If you take it too soon, it will throw you into instant withdrawal, really bad withdrawal. Worst withdrawal than I had ever had before. DON'T TAKE SUBOXONE AFTER BEING ON A HIGH DOSE OF METHADONE!!!!!! Maybe after you have dosed down to 20 or 30mg you can take the suboxone. Make sure it is in small doses !!!! Work yourself up to a higher dose of Suboxone after you have dosed down your methadone intake !!! PLEASE DON'T MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE THAT I DID !!!Read More Read Less

I recently started taking buprenorphine, sublingual (SL), 4mg, twice daily. I want to emphasize that I'm NOT taking this medication for narcotic addiction or any type of drug abuse. I'm taking this medication for chronic pain resulting from post spinal-fusion surgery and small-fiber neuropathy in my feet. I'm adding this emphasis because I've been treated poorly by a health care professional who thought the only legitimate use of buprenorphine was to combat narcotic addiction. Unfortunately, I was stigmatized and treated like a criminal. This is a preliminary review of the medication since I've only taken it for four days. Prior to taking buprenorphine, I was taking hydrocodone/acetaminophen (10/500), twice daily. For my pain, it has worked better than hydrocodone. It is much more effective against the pain associated with small-fiber neuropathy. For the spine pain, it's slightly more effective. The only side effects I'm currently experiencing are minor constipation and slight difficulty starting urination (no pain or discomfort, just takes longer to start the urinating process). The first day, I felt a little light-headed, but that feeling has subsided. I don't feel euphoric or depressed. If allowed, I hope to add more to this review at a later date. Thank you!Read More Read Less

Hydro, oxy, morphine, demeroll, methodone, whatever I took all of them for years and was medically detoxed twice nothing worked! i was ready to just accept the fact I may never be able to stay clean until I found a clinic and a wonderful doc that wrote this script for me. I am proud to say 2 years later i am going strong, happy, healthy, and sober! I take absolutly nothing at all. Advil is as good as it gets and that's very rare! I wish you all the best of luck! I know it's so wonderful to have my life back. I hope maybe this will encourage someone to give this drug a real chance! Best wishes! I fell seven stories from a high rise condo.Since then i became addicted to narcotic painkillers.Subutex not only eliminated my 500+mg daily intake of oxycodone,it seems to manage my pain effectively with 1 pill per day of 8mg.

GOD SENT!! The best two words I have for this medication. I have been a drug addict for many years. Started with hydrocodone and then to methadone. After trying several times to stop on my own I realized I needed help. I started on 32 mg's at the end of August and almost 5 months later I am down to 1 mg and was able to keep my full-time office job. There were days I didnt think I could do it. Days that I was so depressed I didnt want to see the next day, but it passes!!! This medication and GOD saved my life. Read More Read Less

I've been on some type of narcotic prescription since 2002. I've also been on Xanax for 8 years. I truly want the help. I'm on the verge of losing my family and job. In addition to that i'm tired of feeling like this. If I could kick this I would be a better person, mother, wife and employee
