For me this medication was so helpful. I was so fearful of yet again getting addicted to one drug to escape the pain of letting go of another. I had a sever opiate addiction. Hydro, oxy, morphine, demeroll, methodone, whatever I took all of them for years and was medically detoxed twice nothing worked! i was ready to just accept the fact I may never be able to stay clean until I found a clinic...

I was switched (by my foolish rerquest) from saboxone. I found it to be MUCH weaker in strength. I had terrible withdrawl taking it at the directed dose, and severe anxiety, depression also. Nearly had a nervous breaskdown. This drug is no where near as affective as saboxone has been for me, possibly connected to it being a generic drug, witch are not held to anything like the standards of brand n...

After a two year battle with breast cancer and having more than 8 surgeries in two years. I found myself hopelessly dependent on my pain medication. I was taking Norco like it was asprin. I built a tolerance over time so built up to taking more than 10 or 12 a day just to get level. Not to get high. what was amazing to me that the brilliant doctors who were able to save my life could not help me with this. They were trained to help people get well. My surgens tried to work with me to wean me off of the drug but ultimatly it was up to me. I did some research and found a pain specialist. I spent time with him and explained my situation. After some weaning from the Narco I was in the right direction. I was down from 12 a day to 3 a day. Then I was stuck. Couldn't seem to drop those without significant withdrawl symptoms. My Dr is progressive and brilliant. He suggested I try Bupenorphien or subutex. I agreed and with my first dose I knew I would win this battle. I have taken the drug for one month now. I am down to 1mg per day which is 1/2 a tablet under my tongue. I am prepared to take the next steps. 1mg every 36 hours. and then one 1mg every 48. at that point a suspect I will just one day forget when the last time I took one was and I will be free of my narcotic addiction. I am a 44 year old wife and mother of four beautiful children. I have kicked cancers ass and I have kicked a drug dependancy. I wish you could see me flex =) If you are having a similar problem. Hang in there. Life gets better when you make it better. =)Read More Read Less

This is truly a miracle dru!! It tastes horrible, but I only have to use one pill a day and no withrawls or cravings! I used to take about 10 Norcos a day at $2-$6 a pill. Now I take one suboxone a day at $5 a pill! Needless to say, I have a lot more money now and I feel a lot better! I would recommend this drug to anyone who is having a hard time staying off of pills.

I used Suboxone for 20 months. Although I tappered to a very low dose, I experienced withdrawls for 16 days. Withdrawl symtoms included sweating, high blood pressure, panic attachs, diarreah, lack of energy, lack of appetite, and depression. It really didn't kick in until the seventh day and was really bad the 7th, 8th, & 9th days. Now I'm clean! Thank my Lord Jesus Christ. Prayer and ativan helped me through more than anything. Be careful if you use ativan (0.5 mg), it itself is very addictive. I just used it to take the edge off through the worst part of the withdrawl. Good luck and God Bless.Read More Read Less

I've been on suboxone for over a year now and I have to say that it is a miracle drug. The only problem is that I'm now dependent on this. I take a low does, but according to my Dr. and others, it's not the amount that you decrease to come off, it's the percentage. Anyone who thinks coming off heroin is hard, this is far more difficult. My friend was on it for 4 years and he said that the withdrawl didn't kick in for him until a few WEEKS after he came off it! I've been on subutex also and found that not having that blocker only made me need to increase my dose faster. To be honest if I had known beforehand that getting off of suboxone was going to be this hard, I NEVER would have taken it so long. This is my first week after cutting my dose down by 20% and if I can stay comfortable, I'll continue to decrease every few weeks, if not, I'm thinking I may just quit cold turkey and get it over with...Read More Read Less

I can't say enough about this medication! I experienced perfect health until the age of 38, then seemed like over night everything went wrong. My abusive (ex) husband knocked me back onto a slab of concrete and messed up 4 disks in my back, found out the hard way I have a clotting disorder and recently hurt my neck leading to 2 surgeries. Needless to say, thru "pain management clinics" ( I call them legal drug dealers) I became a total addict. My last surgeon had me on 12 percocets a day and 2 oxycontins. And I would run out before my next refill was due!! What a horrible life!! I couldn't function without my meds, I was a total slave to pills! Then, I found an awesome pain management doc that saved me!! She immediately cut back on the amount of meds I was on and ultimately got me on suboxone. I was a total sceptic!! How could 2 pills a day under my tongue overcome my addiction!!! I was scared to death also of my pain level! But that day (June 15, 2008) my life changed. Within hours I felt myself coming out of the drug fog and it was the greatest feeling ever!! Suboxone also helps me manage my chronic pain! I'm now down to 1 a day, sometimes 1 1/2 depending on if the neuropathy in my legs is flairing. If you are sick of the "chase", you don't have to be!! Find a clinic or a doctor that really cares! And just lay your cards on the table. You have nothing to lose and your life to regain control of!! I'm 50 and feel 30 for the first time since narcotics took over my life!! Read More Read Less

I was prescribed ocycontin (80 mg 2x per day) for 10 yrs. Problem was I was taking 3-4 pills (injected) a day towards the last of my addiction. I lost sooo much. A motor home, Harley Davidson Motorcycle, Blazer suv, 18 ft Boat, hot tub, various tools and a whole lot of money. I went bankrupt and almost lost my Home. I also lost my self respect and the respect of family and freinds. Those who say you need to just quit just don't understand what this addiction really is. I went into treatment 18 mo ago and have been clean ever since. I still have some withdrawl but I was taking a hell of a lot of opiates mostly injecting them. I get some sweats once in a while but they soon disapate. Without this drug I probably would have wound up dead. It really works! I mean the periodical sweats last about 2 or 3 minutes and thats it. That's a whole lot better than the withdrawl from oxy or heroin. If you are feeling hopeless, check into a treatment program that uses this drug for detox. It does work. If you are serious you can kick the wicked addiction of opiates.Read More Read Less

I abused all sorts of opiate pain killers for about 10 years, tried to stop 3 or 4 times but couldnt kick the withdraws, when I ran out of my prescribed pain meds, I would resort to Ultram taking about 20-30 a day, so before killing myself with an accidental overdose I checked into a program for opiate addiction. I was prescribed Suboxone and all was good for about a year until I started getting bad headaches, the dr. switched me to Subutex, which has a generic and is alot cheaper, WITHOUT the headaches. I have been clean for almost 3 years and couldnt be happier.Read More Read Less

I take this medication for chronic pain resulting from failed-back-surgery syndrome and small-fiber neuropathy (feet). I previously reviewed this medication. This is an UPDATE. This medication is VERY EFFECTIVE. I've been taking it for over a year, and it's better than MS Contin (which I previously took for years). I have no side effects. It allows me to manage my pain very well, and I take one tab (4mg), twice daily (every 12 hours). I take it sublingually. Yes, the taste is horrible, but I've adapted, and it's a minor distraction. I receive this medication from my Pain-Management physician. Next week, I'm going to try an epidural injection into my spine to see if I can stop taking opiate medications. This decision to try an injection has nothing to do with the effectiveness of buprenorphine. I'm trying to end my dependence (NOT ADDICTION) to opiate medications, but if I'm not successful, I will continue to take buprenorphine, indefinitely.Read More Read Less

I have used this drug well its suboxene I use. I bought it off the street just like I would have tabs,OCs,and anything with opiates in it. They were $12 a piece I got 7 of them and i am tapering off now and it truly is up to you whether you want to quit or not. Opiates are the worse thing to withdraw from the rest of the drugs are so easy. If you want to get off opiates get suboxene it will work and you don't need it for months either it just takes 3 days to withdraw. So take the suboxene for a week then your clean and no withdraws. I feel 100% better and no more pill habit and the control it has on your everyday living. No more worries about the next day or spending all your money on a fix. I went the street route but most people should do the doctor thing. I just did a lot of research before I began my own program. Please just get off it and change your entire life. Its easy if you want to quit. My biggest concern was the painful withdraw but the suboxene works so awesome. Read More Read Less
