For me this medication was so helpful. I was so fearful of yet again getting addicted to one drug to escape the pain of letting go of another. I had a sever opiate addiction. Hydro, oxy, morphine, demeroll, methodone, whatever I took all of them for years and was medically detoxed twice nothing worked! i was ready to just accept the fact I may never be able to stay clean until I found a clinic...

I was switched (by my foolish rerquest) from saboxone. I found it to be MUCH weaker in strength. I had terrible withdrawl taking it at the directed dose, and severe anxiety, depression also. Nearly had a nervous breaskdown. This drug is no where near as affective as saboxone has been for me, possibly connected to it being a generic drug, witch are not held to anything like the standards of brand n...

I have Fibromyalgia and have used several pain medications such as oxycontin, morphine, oxycodone, Cymbalta, Flexeril, Neurontin, prozac, Trazodone, wellbutrin and more. And the side effects were to devastating. I am currently on methadone, vicodin and zoloft. I can not stand the side effects of methadone. So once upon a time there was this dr. who gave me Subutex. At first I had to get used to it just like some of the others. But WOW is all I can say. I had NO side effects whatsoever after I got used to it. My pain level was under control. I was on it for over 1 year. Then I had to change to another insurance and was forced to go on methadone. I have been on it for over another year. And the side effects are just horrible but without it I am just in too much pain. Which I still experience quite a bit of pain but not like if I had no pain meds at all. Subutex gave me most of my life back and I was not in la la land and nodding out. Subutex was absolutely a wonder drug for me. My insurance would not pay for it and there is no DR. in my health care plan that is qualified to prescribe it. All of you out there, if you suffer from chronic pain I suggest trying this medication they use for withdrawals from opiate drugs. It may not be for you but it was wonders for me. Of course that's if you can get your hands on it.If there is any DR. out there that can help me get back on Subutex please let me know. Thank you and God bless all of you who suffer so much chronic pain. And God bless all of you Drs who are busting themselves in doing all that you can to help us. We sure do need you fighting for us. Thanks again. Read More Read Less

I was addicted to pain medication for nine years. This medication saved my life. It only took two months and I'm not even on it anymore. I wish I would have known about this years ago.

I am on day 2, I had narcodics out of my system for 12 hours before I stated. Broke one pill in 4 pieces. Took one piece in morning, another late afternoon, and one at night. So far so good, no withdraw systoms!. Had to buy off the streets, because my husband has no idea of my addition. I bought 5 pills, gonna make them last as long as I can. OMG if this works, I owe my life to this. Been an addict off and on for over 10 yrs. Methadone I took along with OC;s and perks. 2 yrs ago I went to detox. and methadone took the longest to get over. Now just oc's and perks. Wish me luck, I need my life back. Sneaking sucks, and if I get caught I will be doneRead More Read Less

All I know is it works. I did not get any withdrawls. I use to take 15 to 20 pain pills a day. My last painpill I took was 5/31/2013 I went to the Dr.the same day and got a prescription for 8mg.SUBOXONE take twice daily and it worked it is amazing. But I only take one a day thats all you need.I get 60 a month they last me around 45to50 days. They are expensive $ 10.00 a day but thats better than 40 or 50 dollars a day.THANK YOU SUBOXONE I got my life back.

This medication, buprenorphine, has very little, if any effect on motor skills. Unlike pure agonists, I have not developed any tolerance to it's effects. if a patient is looking for euphoria, then buprenorphine is not for them. I have found that there's no Ups and Downs like hydrocodone or oxycodone produces. Using pure agonists will ALWAYS lead to the phenomenon of tolerance, requiring the patient to either take more of the drug or change to a more potent narcotic. I feel it is the ideal drug for long term , chronic pain. what I do not understand is this....the drug buprenorphine , has been off patent for numerous years, yet it is still extremely expensive....why ? There should be an investigation into the Subutex/ Suboxone arrangement. I smell corruption! Subutex or buprenorphine works very well for me in the treatment of chronic Pain from Degenerative joint disease and other types of chronic pain ( In my case , the pain is due to a long undiagnosed very low testosterone level.) This disease causes unnecessary suffering and loss of bone/cartilage and is chronic. Physicians should recognize they can write Rx's for Subutex (buprenorphine)but it will be listed as "Off Label Use* for Chronic Pain.Read More Read Less

I have been using Suboxone for over six months for pain control. My Doctor has increased my dosage to the max and my Insurance will not pay for it at the dosage prescribed. It has not worked very well for pain control. However it has helped with the withdraw symptoms from the Morphine. I simply can NOT stand the taste of this medication at all! I do not know why they make it taste so very bad. Yuck! I am going to have to quit using this as it is not helping at all with my pain management and since I can not get the dosage my doctor wants me to try. Wish there was something that would help! I used this medication for 7 years. Although it did help me get over a long term addiction to vicodin and soma, I became dependent on suboxone which I found much more difficult to get off of.

this medication is highly effective especially when used in combination with counseling. many people believe if your using subutex or suboxone that your just trading one drug for another but this is a common misconception because these medications have the most minimal effect of an opiate you dont get the euphoric "high" you just are able to feel normal so you can return to a normal lifestyle without constantly craving opiates or withdrawing. I know myself i have 3 small children to take care of i have a lot of pain but i cant take all the prescription painkillers because you cant raise a family "high" and you definatly CANNOT take care of your family , go to work or do all the things you have to supposed to if you are "sick" or having withdrawal that is a living hell one that i would never wish on anyone. i recommend this medicine to anyone who struggles with opiate addiction and cannot do inpatient treatment such as rehab but who wants to live a happy normal life the best they can this medicine is for you please talk to your doctor Read More Read Less

I have had chronic pain for several years. I finally found a pain doctor who suggested trying buprenorphine for my pain. I find it to be much more effective than other treatments I have tried. While researching the drug, I was surprised to find that it is almost exclusively used for Narcotic Addiction, when it works so well for chronic pain. I have very little side effects - mostly sleepiness, and feeling lightheaded, neither of which would prevent me from continuing the use of buprenorphine. The one drawback is the rather unpleasant taste, since you must dissolve it under your tongue, although that doesn't last long. I would highly recommend anyone in chronic pain to discuss this medication with their doctor.Read More Read Less

I have been taking Opana ER for 7years, following recurrent back surgery. My body is dependent on the pain medicine. I tried on my own to decrease my dosage, but the withdrawals were intolerable. I was able to get myself off Vicodin or Norco, from 12/day for 8 years, but it was very gradual, ultimately took 4 months to wean myself off. The Opana is a completely different animal. Although I have just started the buprenorphine early this morning, I feel that I am honoring my body, with my decision to stop consuming the opioids. The bitter taste is pretty intense, but diminishes relatively quick, around 60 seconds. Wait for 15 minutes before sipping on a beverage. Be well everybody.Read More Read Less

I have been on pain killers since 2003 and I got out of control with them. High tolerance and problems in my life and that's a recipe for a addict. Anyway Suboxone is a life saver and I recommend it to anyone who can't stop taking opiate drugs on there own.

I used suboxone for five years and lately it cost $13 a pill at pharmacy with no insurance on the big island of HI. So i'm thankfull for subutex which cost next to nothing for generic (sl), cant seem to find namebrand anymore.I highly recommend asking you'r doctor to switch you to subutex if your paying out of pocket, Joe

Roxanne's brand of buprenorphine... The pills are bitter in taste and the size/shape of them are difficult to dissolve under your tongue. This seems like the only generic brand and only choice of buprenorphine available in North and South Carolina. I used to be on a different brand and they were oval in shape and made by Reckitt Benckiser, now they are completely unavailable and the Hi- Tech brand has somehow disappeared as well. I don't like the Roxanne version and they seem less effective. Does anyone know why these other brands have disappeared from the market?Read More Read Less
