I was lucky enough to get a good medical doctor who takes insurance & isn't only doing it for the money. It is the only reason I don't take painkillers anymore. Nothing else worked. My doctor believes that as long as it's helping & keeping me off opiates, I could take it as long as needed. Been on it for 8 years with no side effects.

I was on this medication for pain.I did not like to be on pain pills.Doc ask me if i would like to try, i agreed.I have severe spinal stynosis,and without this i can hardly move.I can actually work with this medicine.Less is better.But beware if your on this over 8 months should you go off of it cold turkey it total hell.I missed my dr appointment,no refill had to set up new app.5 days no medicine never in my life have i suffered.Don't know what heroin withdrawl is like but I"ll never miss another app.I have been told it's like heroin withdrawl.This medicine works good for pain in my opition.Read More Read Less

I am an 80yr old male. I had a severe case of osteo my-E-litis whichincluded a 25lb abcess in my left side. For the following 9 years, I had 8 surgeries and was on Opiates for pain. The "killer" drug for me was Oxycodone. I finally decided to get off this drug despite my Pain MD telling me not to go to detox. I went anyway and now take buprenorphine. The detox was easy, taking buprenorphine has not been. I was taking (2) 2-0.5mg pills 3 times a day. I felt very well, swam every day, ate well, slept well. No big problems. Then the MD decided I should take 1-1/2 8-2mg once day. This did not work and I don't know why he changed my dosage. (If it isn't broke, don't fix it!). I had severe constipation, back pain (L7) and couldn't sleep. Now, he put me on (2) 2-0.5mg 4 times a day. We'll see if this will get me back to where I started.Read More Read Less

Miracle drug!! I never had to go through withdrawal basically and I'm not still walking around like a zombie like most people at the methadone clinic.Its worked so far and I don't even think about going back out. The only thing I needed was a real desire to change myself and a miracle.Found one!

concern over symptoms during this first week of taking suboxone. Small chest pains (on the right mainly) and a feeling of withdraws a few hours after taking them.

I COULD NOT GET A DR FOR BAD BACK 3 DISC BAD IN MY NECK. SO THIS HELP BETTER THAN NOTHING. I HEARD THAT IF U BEEN IN A SUB- CLINIC, A DR WILL NOT HELP U , DOES ANYONE PLEASE KNOW.

This medication saved my life and I urge anyone that has a problem to give it a try!

If given a drug test would suboxin show as a opium under the test,or what class of drug does it show in a urine test

Sick and tired of the vicious cycle of Methadone clinics or the worse prospect of resorting to street Heroin I finally got myself into a suboxen Doctor office treatment milieu. This has revolutionized my entire being. I have been addicted off and on for 45+ years. Now I am easily able to deal with my addiction and do not experience any problems whatsoever other than a rather awful flavor in my mouth now only once per day at a minimal dose. I have been on painkillers,(lorcet,lortab,vicodin,oxycodone,and finally morphine)for the last eight years for low back condition(blown disc,surgery).I stayed on these drugs because withdrawal was just to severe for me to tolerate.I finally came clean to my primary care Dr. a couple of weeks ago.I am now in a substance abuse treatment program through the V.A.This drug,(suboxone)has made all the difference.It has made withdrawal tolerable.Please,if anyone reading this is sincerely looking for help this is one way to go.God bless,and good luck.Read More Read Less

I wanted to stop taking oxycodone for pain. Istill had pain but I was concerned about te effects of the narcotic. So I asked to go to detox.It only took aweek and I was off of percocet. Then I was told that Icould take suboxone for pain and that everthing would be fine.I was being lied to and Iam angry about it. it has been about eight months. Suboxone does not treat pain. It counteracts the effects of narcoticsand blocks the receptors inthe brain.Itworks for addicton but does nothing for pain. ive been on and off painkillers alot of years im 49 and i have to say at least 20 years.until i did some researse and found SUBOXONE...... UNBELIEVEABLE im just getting my life together financially, i have to say was the biggest down fall spending so much money on the drug but i am looking forward to better things i really hope people will listen to all these reviews cause they are so TRUE GODBLESS and GOODLUCK you can do it.

I got on Subxone as part of my treatment to get off all kinds of pain killers. What a blessing it's been. I tried the whole "weaning" off the pills and failed miserably. This med has helped me realize getting clean can be a reality and when I think about my favorite pain pill, it doesn't seem so applealing when I'm on Suboxone. I do wish more docs were licensed to presribe it though. I'm so grateful I made the choice to get on it and was persistent in finding a doc. I started taking RX 12/31/08.It helped a great deal for RSD Pain! Now I have totaly differant kind of pain in the same area of the RSD.It's more like muscle and severe joint pain,Knees and legs.It's difficult for me to understand what's going on now! I can't walk,and very ill. I need to know more about the suboxone to figure out what's going on with me!

Our addict had a long-term problem with prescription opiate painkillers of all kinds, and it was threatening to destroy our family. Suboxone therapy has allowed us to return to a "normal" existence. It has not been a simple treatment process, however. Few physicians are licensed to prescribe Suboxone, so it was challenging just to find a local doctor. Several counseling sessions per week were required, causing work scheduling conflicts that had to be resolved very carefully with cooperation of both the prescribing doctors and the counselors. As a caregiver, I had to learn about my role and change my attitude about it. When treatment started I was fed up, angry, bitter, and burdened. It has been helpful to think of the addiction as a chronic, treatable condition like diabetes, rather than as something to be cured and forgotten about. The caregiver is part of the addict's team, and a positive, kind, supportive, team-player mentality helps greatly (sometimes hard to muster, but worth it!). Suboxone is another member of the team, and it continues to treat this condition and keep it under control. It has been, without a doubt, the best available solution to us.
