I really like this medication. I am on my second month and have had no problems, especially because I never forget to take it. It has cleared up my skin significantly and I have definitely not had a decrease in sexual desire. If anything, it's a comfort not having that worry in the back of my mind that I might get pregnant unplanned. I am very satisfied with this birth control. I also highly...

I'm 25 years old and this is the first time on being on birth control. I've been scared to try it because of all of the side effects. Cons: Breasts are tender Breasts are a little fuller (I have big breasts and I was scared that they would get bigger but they haven't) My lower back aches a little I'm a little overly emotional (i'll feel emotions more than usual but its nothing that is uncomfortable) Pros: No break through bleeding No weight gain I feel calmer as an individual My acne has cleared up a lot It comes in a cute little packet that is easy to store and take with you I'm not pregnant! Overall I'm very satisfied with this drug. I would prefer not to take it at all but I do not want to get pregnant and condoms hurt a lot. Read More Read Less

I started MonoNessa almost a month ago; within the first two days I experienced terrible cramps, dizziness, hot flashes and nausea after my early morning workout, so much that I had to lay down with a wet cloth on my forehead. In the past few weeks, I have had strange acne outbreaks (I generally have pretty clear skin) especially on my neck/chest. My mood hasn't changed too much, but within the past couple of days, I've gotten strange little bumps all over the tops of my hands....not too pleased with this pill. I started it to prep myself and my body for my wedding in July...so far, not so awesome.Read More Read Less

I have been taking this pill for a week and absolutely hate it. I felt bloated, developed acne (I am not normally acne prone) and have felt nausea. I am immediately switching from this pill.

I have been taking mononessa for over half a year now. I have had bad reactions to other birth controls so I finally switched to this. When I first started taking this I got dizzy a lot but it went away but then I had gotten 3 yeast infections after I started, each after my period when I start the pill again. It made me moodier but I got over it. Then recently I started bleeding when I wasn't supposed to start. I bleed somewhat heavily for at least 2 weeks only to really start my period which was the worst. Needless to say I wouldn't recommend, I'm finding something new.Read More Read Less

I am 35 years old and was just switched from sprintec to mononessa. I have only taken it a month and have developed the worst acne I've had since I was a teenager. I also started my period 2 days earlier than usual. I am not happy at all with the switch.

Constant nausea, vomiting more than three times every night since I started the pill which caused me to lose weight, and become rather dehydrated. I had heavier periods, and they became more frequent, happening at least every two weeks.I don't take any other medication, I exercise and eat healthy. This was my first birth control pill. Needless to say, I'm certainly not taking any more of these. I don't recommend this pill.

I would NOT recommend this pill! I was taking YAZ, but switched to Mononessa because it was more price friendly. The first 3-4 months were okay, had no issues and I didn't get pregnant which is definitely great! However, the past month and a half I have had the following issues: 12 lb weight gain (may I say that I had recently lost 42 lbs, hadn't changed my diet, eat healthy, and exercise every day), bad night sweats, stomach ache's and cramping, itchy skin on my legs which also appear very dry at times, seem to be bloated and gas-y all the time, increase in breast size and tenderness, seem to have headaches and migraines on a regular basis, a bit more moody, yeast infections, acid burning in my throat (almost as if I have to throw up). I have recently had a few nightmares, and chest pains. I have also experienced trouble breathing but only once. However, I felt as if I was about to fall down, my mouth went numb, and I couldn't catch my breath or speak hardly. NEEDLESS to say, I have already called to switch to a new pill. However, to each their own! :)Read More Read Less

2nd time using this product. Love that I am finally having periods again. I feel like a normal woman my age should. Stopped most of my hot flashes which were caused by premature ovarian failure. I haven't had any side effects. Periods are not the most regular some times they come after 2 weeks of pills. And some times they come when they should. 7 years ago I took this product for 1 year to treat painful periods and very heavy bleeding it worked so well that I didn't have cramps or heavy periods again until I started early menopause. I like that it is a combination pill and a very low dose.Read More Read Less

Hard to remember to take it at the same time, but that is the same for all pills. It is a combination pill so it gives you a little grace period (3-4 hours late) every once and while. Lost weight, cleared up my acne, and shorter lighter periods.

I've been taking this medication for less than a year, and I have almost constant nausea, sometimes even to the point that I end up vomiting. I've become moody, I get mad one minute and then I'm fine, then I'll just start crying for no reason at all, and this was never an issue for me until I began taking this medication. I've also noticed that my breasts are much more tender, and I've detected a small lump, hopefully just a side effect from the pill. The only real benefit I've seen is that mononessa has shortened my periods to 4-5 days, but I'd rather have a 7 day period than experience these side-effects.Read More Read Less

Im only giving it a 3 because I just started taking this one 8 days ago. I have been closely monitoring for any side effects because I recently tried OrthoTriCyclen and it made me NUTS- extremely irritable- so I didnt even finish a full month b/c I could not stand the uncontrollable mood swings! So far the only minor things I'm noticing are maybe a little more tired and hungry than normal but it is the holiday season which could be contributing to these factors also! And I was struggling with acne which has not changed at all yet except maybe a few extra cystic bumps on shoulders/back/and even strangely on my thighs UGH.(this may or may not be related to these pills since it was already happening before) I am really hoping this pill clears my skin like the Orthtricyclen did and a little weight gain (especially in the boob area) would be benficial for me! Praying for no negative side effects daily, and so far so good!! I was originally taking Yaz and started experiencing severe adverse effects. The nurse practitioner changed my medication to Mononessa and I have been on it for over 2 years.I cannot be happier. The periods are short, I did not experience weight gain, no babies and absence of ovarian cysts! The only negatives I experience is mild acne and intermittent period pain.I believe that no drug can be perfect for every women, therefore sometimes you must try a few to see what your body prefers. Hope this was helpful.Read More Read Less

I've been on this birth control for over 3 years now, and I absolutely love it. It limits my periods to only 4 days and I have a serious reduction in cramps, bloating and other side effects. I have been on other pills, but they all made me bleed irregularly. This is my favorite I have tried! And it's pretty cheap!

I have been on this medication for a solid week now, I had a bit of nausea at night the first few days, but that seems to have passed. And today I'm feeling a little out of it, kinda cloudy/disoriented. I had a aura migraine during the first week, not sure if it was caused by the medication or the fact that migraines run in the women in my family. Gonna look into that. Overall my experience has been ok, I'm pretty sure my body just needs to adjust. All I have to say is be careful when you begin any medication, especially birth control. Know the bad signs/warning signs so you can keep yourself safe!Read More Read Less
