I can not tolerate statins. The dr just started me on this drug. Been taking it for 2 months now and it's working for me. My LDL went from 163 to 123 so far. I take 2 fish oil for the triglycerides and that brought that down from 300 to 100, so that combination is working for me. I don't have any side effects so far and I'm very very sensitive to drugs. Hardly can take anything because of a sensiti...

This is my third experience with cholesterol medication and all of them inflame my joints and bother my muscles. The side effects interfere with excersizing and I am tired of this discomfort. I have high chloesterol of 99 but can't control the bad even by diet. Help

I don't know yet if my cholesterol is down yet as I have only been on Zetia for 2 weeks but my body hurts, muscles, back, joints, along with terrible gas and bloating. I have no energy. I have been a runner for 18 years and cannot find the energy to run. I also work out twice a week. My son commented on the fact that I was breathing so hard just climbing the stairs at home. I am not overweight and am in pretty good shape but I think I'm giving up on all the cholesterol medications. Tried Liptor (felt terrible), Zocor (did not lower below 200), Vytorin lowered everything but bones hurt badly. Welchol (terrible gas and bloating). Quality vs. Quantity? Read More Read Less

I am taking Zetia & some other RX's and have had very excessive gas and bloating. I had stopped each RX individually for a while and found that the only relief I got (from gas) was when I stopped Zetia. But my cholesterol went from low 200's back to 250. I went back on Zetia, gas problem returned within 2 days. Has anyone else experienced this? If so, have you found a way to take Zetia or any other RX and not get gas problems? Pls. respond. Thanks.

I have tried lipitor, zocor, leschol, all cause extreme muscle cramping. Zetia doesn't, so I have stayed on it longer; however, I am experiencing low iron and ferritin levels, is it possible that the zetia as it blocks absorption of cholesterol also blocks iron? I am extremely tired all the time, my LDL came down but I also take Omacor (Omega 3 fatty acid) with it. I would love to hear from others.

Has caused nothing but more problems. I have Multiple Sclerosis, so all Zetia did was worsen my fatigue and acheing joints and muscles. It also caused my hands, feet, legs, face, etc. to swell really bad. I only took it for 5 days(have been off of it for 3 days) and none of the side effects have eased up yet. Am having to wear surgical stockings, elevate feet & legs and stay off my feet as much as I can. Breathing has also gotten difficult. Congratulations to all that it has helped. And my sympathy to those that it hasn't. Read More Read Less

Zetia has really worked -- my LDL went down 57%! Fortunately, I haven't had any side effects, so this will be a staple in the future.

I have been disappointed with the results. I also developed a problem having excess gas after I went on zetia, but have found that if I take calcium too, it reduces the problem. I have also had trouble with fatigue since being on zetia.

I have a big problem now with the calf muscles of my legs and my doctor suggests that I stop taking Zetia for awhile to see if this is my problem. I have been on Zetia for the past 6 years and I never heard of it giving leg problems like this. Please let me know if possible if you have any complaints like this.I hurt very badly. On a scale of 1-10, this is a 9. Please answer me soon if you can.

Dropped my LDL level from 140 to 80, when your HDL is over 100, Dr has less/no concern about total cholesterol #. ( Note my last HDL was 170, verified by retest)

I take 40mg of Lipitor a day but could never get my total chol. level lower than 212 no matter how hard I tried. My Dr. added 10mg Zetia to my Lipitor and after 6 weeks my total chol. was 184; 4 1/2 months later when it was again taken it was 180. My Dr. wrote "Fantastic" on the lab report when he sent it to me. Finally, something that has worked with my dieting and 3 days a week at the Y. Thanks Zetia
