SINCE TAKING ZETIA FOR THE LAST SIX MONTHS, I HAVE EXPERIENCED JOINT PAIN THAT WAKES ME UP DURING THE NIGHT. IS THIS A SIDE EFFECT OF THIS DRUG? I AM ALSO ON EVISTA, WHICH CAN CAUSE BLOOD CLOTS. WILL ZETIA ALONG WITH EVISTA INCREASE THE POTENTIAL OF BLOOD CLOTS?

After 3 years on Lipitor and good LDL/Tri results I could not bear the fatigue and depression side effects any longer. Started Zetia 6 months later because cholesterol and triglycerides had soared again. 6 weeks into the Zetia treatment I am already suffering the same side effects. The fatigue and zombie feeling is a side effect that so impacts life I feel it is not worth it. Will tell Dr. as much when retest results are done in 4 weeks.

Zetia is a wonderful drug. After just three months my cholesterol levels are great. I am not overweight, did not change my diet or eating habits and really do not exercise. I was experiencing some problems with bloating and gas, but I solved the problem by taking the medication in the morning instead of before bed. My physician said it was better to take before bed, but if you feel better taking it in the morning and the Zetia is doing what it's suppose to do, then take it in the morning. Get muscle sraps and weaking of the muscles to the point of tearing the muscle. This causes a lot of bleeding being on warfarin. Lowered my count fron 252 to 197.

I just started taking this medication as I am a diabetic. I seem to be having weakness in my legs is this normal?????Oh I also take metformin,actose,dyovan.Zetia and am on some naproxin and ultrum for a brief time for shoulder pain......Thanks

I started taking Zetia about 1 year ago and my total cholesterol went from 260 to 176 with little change in diet. After 3 months I started getting rashes on different parts of my body. They finally went away after 6 months, then the muscle aches started and today I have severe muscle pain in my neck and shoulders. Muscle relaxers eliminate 95 % of the disconfort but my concern is the long term affects of this drug.

I am not real sure what this medication is doing for me other than I feel sick all the time. I have migranes almost every day with terrible zig zag visual disturbance and I have chronic sinusitis.

I too have been having diarrhea and my hair has been following out...but never connected that with the Zetia. Are both of these side effects of the medicine? I used to have such beautiful hair and now I lose hair just shaking my head! After reading these comments will have to talk to my doctor. I also get the joint aches and pains.

I tried 2 doses of this medicene. I had severe gas & stomach pains. I also felt very tired, like I have the flu. I stopped taking this medication altogether!

I notice a eczema/rash on my face since I've been using.

I was on Zetia for 13 months and it did lower my cholesterol. But it also caused my hair to fall out and become very fine. I stopped taking it for a month and my hair stopped falling out and became coarser again. My doctor put me back on but I intend to report this hair thinning to him when I go for my check up visit in 2 months.

Muscle tightness and sore muscles

zetia never raised my low chloestol and raised my triglyceride level. I wasted a lot of money on it for the two years I took it before the warnings. Evidently, I was on a trial without my knowledge.

I have been on this drug for about 8 months. Before treatment LDL Cholesterol was 128 with diet adjustment. After 6 months on Zetia AND adjustment to diet, the reading was 91. HDL jumped from 36 to 44 during the same period.

After reading that this drug does not help that much and due to the high cost I decided to stop taking it 3 days ago. TODAY I have suffered severe dizziness twice and a feeling of upset stomach. Has anyone else stopped taking zetia and had side effects? Please reply asap I am nervous and afraid for some reason.n

Been on Zetia since 2002. Has not lowered my cholesterol or triglycerides Would like to stop taking it.
