Prescribed this rx for UTI. 14 PILLS FOR 7 days x,s2. I have never felt this bad in my entire 54 years on this earth.! The first tablet I took within 2 minutes the bottom of my feet and palms of my hands were beet red with uncontrollable itching. That horrible itch began to spread through my entire body within seconds. Thank God my fiance was with me as i could not drive my new vehicle because of the need to scratch/soothe that itch under the bottom of my feet and drive at the same time. My dr put me on this med for to treat a staph infection and I had no problems w/ the 1st 10 day dose. The infection cleared up beautifully and I had no reaction whatsoever to the med. However, I had a follow up and it was decided I should continue the med for another 10 days. After being off them for 4 days, an hour after taking the 1st dose, I started itching so severely that it's painful. I have a red rash and my body feels hot, not feverish, but I just feel warm, if that makes sense. This one is a hard one for me to rate b/c the 1st 10 days I had no problems and the med worked for me exactly how it was supposed to w/o any problems. The 2nd time around, 1 dose was all it took to make me throw it out. I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy. I know I won't risk it - I won't take this med again. I have never had a problem with medication before..I have discontinued after 4 days of gas, dizziness and vomiting. The NP that prescribed this should lose her license.

I've take 3 doses and I've never felt more sick in my entire life. Haven't been able to keep down a meal. Makes you feel horrible. Good luck !

Had a UTI and was prescribed this medication. Feel better after 5th and final day of treatment.

Comes and go thought I was better, then came back.

It didn't help.

Fever, Chills, Stiff Neck, Body Aches and Pains, wound up in hospital with enlarged liver and liver level readings. Would not recommend to anyone to use. Not a safe drug.

I was prescribed SMZ/TPM DS 800-160MG 1 tab. 2x/day for an eye infection. I took 1 in the morning with no apparent effects and 1 at night. In the middle of the night I awoke in a pool of sweat, felt nausea, tingling, heart palpitations, dizziness-kind of like a panic attack. I am reluctant to continue this drug. I am sensitive to medications. I will probably ask my doctor to prescribe an alternative. I have no previous problems with azithromycin. I will probably ask for that. I did tell her initially that I can take that, but she decided to give me the sulfonamide. I am allergic to penicillin, too. Read More Read Less

After 5 days on a 10 day prescription I broke out in severe rash/hives. Painful and very uncomfortable. Now doctor prescribing steroid pills to eradicate the hives. Never use this again.

I had no side effects

My 16 year old is taking this for a skin infection. He was fine for two 1/2 days. He is complaing of bad dreams/unable to sleep. He's very fatigued and now red, and broken out. Unfortunately, his dr is unavailable on the weekend. Son is out of town with his dad on a trip. Called husband and asked him to not let son take any more. Until they get back home tomorrow morning. My mother in law has a nurse for a neighbor, so they are going to ask her about the rash. I have had problems with this drug also. I was not aware this was a generic of bactrim! allergic reaction, severe muscle contractions

Med was prescribed after a tumor removal from leg as precautionary measure, not existing inflammation or infection. I developed fever, severe nasal congestion, and coughing, mouth irritation/sores, burning indigestion loss of appetite could only eat small amounts of bland food. Also extreme fagigue. Thought I had the flu. Have been off med for a week and stil having fever flushes, allergy type cough, fatigue and irritated digestive issues.Have lost weight.

I just started taking this med. because I was bitten by a deer tick. I have been on it for 2 days and so far I am fine but reading all of the other reviews I am worried. I wont mind losing weight but not the other side effects.
