I am a 48 y.o university professor, - after years of frustration and depression because of my procrastination habits and, as I described it, a lack of engagement between my brain and my body. I finally went into therapy just over a year ago at the urging of my wife and was diagnosed with ADHD. I started taking Adderall about 8 months ago. I have found that Adderall is very effective at helping me...
I am a mental health therapist, and reading these reviews of Adderall makes me want to laugh and cry at the same time. I am also taking adderall, and know in my heart that I am addicted, and struggle with knowing this everyday. With not wanting to refill my script, but knowing that the addict in me will call my doctor and get a refill. Knowing that I will become emotionless and cold, sleepless ...

i have been taking 15mg 2x daily for about 4 or 5 months. I've lost 30 pounds! i have no desire to eat at all. i have to literally force myself to eat. this medicine has helped me sooo much. in high school i got D's and F's. i just finished college and was top in my class, straight A's! bad side effects: having to pee a lot, insomnia, towards the end of the day i get aggravated very easily and some what anti-social.

I started on 10mg 2x/day, and steadily increased to current dose of 30mg 2x/day. Although it doesn't work like it used to, I can't function without it. It tends to make me a little irritable and anxious at times. Within the last 6-8 months I've noticed leg pain, tingling, and swelling. I'm unsure if it's related to medication. I've tried other meds but none has helped. Side effects can be annoying, but benefits are worth it.

This has been a miracle drug for me. I suffered from SWSD, Major dep. disorder, obesity, an other afflictions, and adderall seems to alleviate them all. The one draw back is it does give me panick attacks, but it far outweighs the side effects.

With other treatments, I couldn't tell a difference at all in myself(33 yr old woman) or my son (14 yrs). aftertalking to my son, I decided to talk to my doctor about stopping meds altogether, since they are also very expensive. He wanted to try adderol first. I can definately tell a difference when I take my medicine, & when I do not. My son was held back last year at school,& at semester they moved him back up, so Im contributing alot of that to the adderol.

I don't have Narcolepsy but something close. My apologies with my spelling but my problems is called ideo-pathic-hyper- somnia. This just means there is no explanation for why this is the way that I am. I have taken test after test, 2- overnight sleep studies and 1 -three day sleep study. My results have been seen by many specialtist and nothing. I am on 30mgs -3 times a day totalling 90mgs of adderall and 20 mgs of ritilin /3 times a day totalling 60 mgss a day and with both of these I can still sleep and sleep hard. I go through good days and bad days or sperts. The bad days or sperts out do the good days. I have tried every drug possible and every strength, I have tried anti-depressants, narcoleptic medications and nothing works. At first adderall was wonderful and gave me my life back, but it has been almost 3 years and it just doesn't do it anymore. It helps slightly but I have to force my self to do anything and everything. I don't know what to do anymore. I am willing to try anything, I just want to be normal again, I want to be able to play with my kids, I don't want to be cranky anymore. I want to live, I am to young to be this old. Can anyone help.Read More Read Less

I have Narcolepsy and have had it for 3 years. It wasn't diagnosed until March '07 and that's when my Dr. gave me Adderall. It gave me my life back. I started on 20mg/day, now I take 40mg 3/day. It took a couple of months to find the right dosage and level off. I would have to write a book to explain what I was going through, and what I was putting my family through...so I will spare you of that. But don't take this drug just to lose weight, it's a serious medication with some side effects. Go on a diet.Read More Read Less

I use Adderall XR 10MG. It helps me to stay focused and keeps me from feeling mentally lazy. I can "get more done". But, I believe the effects are wearing off because the medication doesn't work as well as it once did. I now take 20 MG per day and I still feel as if the effects (benefits) are not as strong as they used to. I may stop taking it for a while.
