this I like better than the nystatin, because I can put one in my mouth and let it dissolve and don't have to get up to go to the bathroom to swish it around in your mouth.... Much Much easier

this medication gives me a metallic taste, nausea,an insane craving for salt. these symptoms dont quit as i have to take 1 every 3 hours & the tablet takes 4 hours to dissolve. could be the worst meds i ever took in my life. plus i still have the symptoms i started with.

I am currently taking 10mg clotrimazole lozenges 5x a day for a mild cause of oral thrush I acquired after taking doxycycline. I never experienced pain with my thrush but I had the telltale white lesions and my sense of taste was screwed up. The lozenge is easy to use and doesn't taste bad. I only experience a mild tingling sensation as it dissolves. My only concern is that I'm on day 11 and even though I can taste fine, my tongue is still pretty white. The thickness of the lesions seem to have come down by 50%. I was just expecting it to work faster based on what I read online about it and the fact that my case is considered mild. I know 14 days of treatment is typical though so we'll see what happens. Read More Read Less

This was the easiest-to-use med I’ve ever taken with the most help and least side effects —almost none! I got a bad case of thrush that was misdiagnosed by 3 doctors and it got so bad that I couldn’t swallow properly. Finally was given this life-changing med and I think only once did it give me a slight metallic taste. But just once and it lasted maybe an hour. Beyond that, it’s moderately sweet like candy and dissolves in 10 mins usually. After 3 horrible months of not being able to swallow and eat, I’m back to normal life again thanks to this medication. Easy to take except for getting up in night to take one. Dissolved quickly. Felt better within a week, but continued to take them. However, once I was done I had a very sore mouth and tongue and it took several weeks for my mouth to feel back to normal. The oral thrush was gone, but perhaps the meds caused my mouth to be very sensitive to foods so I had to cut out salt and acidic foods.

I was on antibiotics for 3 years (acne) and have now had thrush for 2 full years. I have taken this medication, Fluconazole and Nystatun separately and at the same time in addition to swishing with hydrogen peroxide and I still have thrush.

This drug, along with drastic, temporary, dietary changes, got rid of my severe overpopulation of oral candida that happened due to my stress disorder, and stress at work. Plain whole milk yogurt, broiled free range chicken breast with salt and pepper, broiled fresh cod with salt and pepper, and sauer kraut was all that I ate during treatment, along with teaspoon shots of apple cider vinegar about 5 times per day, and rinsed mouth with water/peroxide at 10/1 ratio.

I just started an enhaler for an allergy. My tongue was hurting so bad for about 4 days. I could hardly talk. My allergist gave me this prescription. It was relief in one day.

This medication did not work at all and was a waste of time. Very unsatisfied. I'll call the doctor on Monday to get something else......I wasted a week!

I have taken this drug for Thrush but now I have been in the hospital since last Wednesday with a bad case of hives all over my body. I was on IV with a steriod medication. My doctor has never seen anything what I have. spending New Years Eve in my hospital bed watching the ball to drop in NY.
