I have been using this medication for over 25 yrs, and it has saved me. I could not use a whole one. It made me vomit. you need to learn how to cut it in pieces and experiment. You must use when you expect you are getting a headache. You will soon know how much to use. If I wake up in the middle of the night and my head is throbbing I know I have to use a larger chunk than I would if I suspect a headache starting. Also you will learn when to use more if that amount is not enough. I too beg that they continue to make this medication. I cannot go back to spending holidays in bed and trips to the emergency. Absolutely the best medicine ever for a migraine headache. I have used it for over 34 yrs. It works in about 20 minutes and I only have to use 1/2 suppository (no other medicine) besides predisone works for me. I don't know how I would live without it.Please Please Please keep making it !!!!

Took my first migergot suppository today. I experienced 1 to 2 hours of vomiting and nausea...Dreadful! I did take zofran 2 doses and 1/2 seroquel. The medication did relieve the pain after 2 hours. It burned when inserted. I inject with DHE (15 years) and am very tired of the pain and prep of using the syringe. I thought next migraine I may take only half the suppository.

I have used multiple medications and delivery methods (oral, sublingual, nasal spray, etc.) without success. Migergot relieves my migraines usually within 40 minutes. I experience severe nausea and vomiting, so suppositories are the only method that will deliver the medication effectively. Unfortunately, this medication is becoming more difficult to find and is very expensive unless you have drug insurance.

feel a headache coming on, use migergot rect and have relief within 1-2 hours. even if I wake up with headache (migraine) I can take this and still get some relief maybe not as fast but I have used this for over 20 years and would not like to live without it. I hear they have stopped making this particular type of drug and I am having a difficult time realizing my quality of life is going to change. Imitrex does not work for me.
