Since taking this medication I have had severe diarrhea (explosive diarrhea) if I eat normal quantities of fruits and vegetables, especially tomatoes. I've had numbness and tingling in my hands and tingling in my feet, itching, crawling skin feeling, backache, weight gain, and repeated bouts of gout. I never had problems with any of these things before taking this medication. I've been on it fo...

This medication has more side effects for me than benefits. Going to see a cardiologist to get off of this lousy med.

I am writing on behalf of my mother who was prescribed this med to treat chronic congestive heart failure and high BP. She is on 3.125 mg BID and has been taking this med for less than 1 week, but I will not be giving her anymore. She is unable to tell me exactly what it has done to her, as she is constantly in a state of delirium. She is restless and has not slept peacefully since she started this med. She is too agitated for me to get a good BP reading. I do not recommend this drug for any purpose.Read More Read Less

I have been taking carvedilol/coreg for 19 years. It controls both my heart rate and blood pressure. I feel no side effects unless I miss a dose, then I will experience chest pain and feel sick.

The side effects- dizziness, sleepiness, overall lack of any motivation make this drug a terrible option for me. It is effectively controlling my BP but at an unacceptable trade-off. Lisinopril was just as good with fewer side effects

Dr. put me on Carvedlol 6.5mg twice daily. At first, everything was fine but started getting very dizzy when turning over in bed while trying to sleep. Dizziness persisted so I had to stop taking Carvedlol.

Original dosage made me hurt all over but taking high doses of Magnesium and Potassium Asporotates relieve the horrible mains. I've also reduced my prescription in half and don't take the Solaray dietary suppliment (don't mean to advertise but it worked). Have your blood work done to reveal shortages in Magnesium. Don't know why it was so low other than the meds.

Recently my insurance changed and it was going to cost me $110 a month for brand name Coreg so I chose to instead try taking the carvedilol to see if I could deal with the side effects from it...but failed. I tried taking Coreg every 3rd day (carvedilol the other two) to minimize the expense and as of me writing this message..that failed. The problem is the generic carvedilol doesn't seem to work. I get spikes in my blood pressure and irregular heart beats and chest pain, All goes pretty well when using brand name Coreg. I have a much longer detailed story that includes multiple trips to the ER over the years for this and only this. Every time I was diagnosed as not having a problem and asked "are you taking your medicine?" and only after leaving the ER once and realizing the druggist had changed me to the generic without telling me, I took a Coreg that I had in my car (backup stash)while sitting outside the hospital and I felt the symptoms disappear in 15-30 minutes.Read More Read Less

I am in so much pain it literally hurts to walk. My back hurts and every joint in my body. While my blood pressure has remained lower than I previously had it is not worth the pain I am experiencing. I can't work out. I have tried everything to stop this pain and nothing works. After several elimination test like back and hip rads, PT, kidney stone sonograms and CT. The only thing that remains constant is this drug. I have spoken with my GP and she doesn't believe its the meds so she is now sending me to a pain management place and a rheumatologist. I have also tried accupunture. Its the meds. Its the meds. Help!!!Read More Read Less

I started taking this in 2012, after 8 months I went into heart block and had to have a pace-maker. The doctor told me that it was from this medication. I never knew this was a possibility, I wish I was verbally told this. I would of never had taken it! Now I have a pacemaker for the rest of my life because of this horrible drug!

Half to break the 6.25 mg in half. Diarrhea (especially combined with a cholesterol lowering med), bloating, tiredness in the eyes but it works.

Response was a sharp pain, right in the center of my forehead, like someone was repeatedly stabbing me with an ice pick or knife. Dr increased dose, pain got worse, increased again to 'horse pill' and I refused to take it.
