Diarhea. Dry mouth. Feel fine in the am. Feel like I'm going to faint in the afternoon. General weakness and muscle pain. Headache w/dizziness. Feel like I have the flu. Stopped taking this medication after 2 1/2 days. I have never had this kind of experience with an antibiotic.

The medication, gave me a bad rash all over my face. It also cause me to itch all over my body. I will not be using this product ever again.

Since age 18, I have acquired numerous UTI's, (I am now 37). I have always been prescribed Bactrim DS 1 bid #14. Recently I acquired another UTI, began Bactrim DS, and became incredibly itchy! No hives. No recent lifestyle nor medication changes. Took Benadryl liquids caps; itch subsided. Can this happen to a person after taking antibiotic after 18 years, which is still effective in treatment?

Prescribed for sinus infection, after 7 days I started bleeding from the nose & pours of my skin. Bactrum destroyed 99% of my platelets, I was bleeding to death. I was given steriods gained 50# which I still have after 20 yrs. The DR said I would probably never loose it. After having chemo and loosing some weight I am still 163#. Just found this web site today.

UTI symptoms have diminished over the 5 days on Bactrim DS. The nausea scared me a bit, being a new symptom I thought it might be related to an spread of the UTI. I was pleased to see others with similar comments. I was so miserable with the UTI that I was willing to suffer any of the side effects of this drug. My apetite has been impacted as well. I'm trying not to complain about that part; I once wished for a trip to Survivor Island so I could drop a few pounds. All of the contestants surely do!! Best of luck to those of you taking this drug. After one day of taking this drug I experienced extreme abdominal pain and diahrea. The pain is so bad I have been curled in a ball now for 24 hours can't eat or sleep. I would take the sinus infection over this...

Had a bad case of diareah after eating in South America which went on for a week and didn't resolve. Took the generic form of this drug and diareah resolved almost immediately. Took for 1 week 2XDay with no side effects. Bacteria resolved and didn't return.

Used for 10 days, after last day got bad skin rash, major muscle pain, dry mouth, bad headache. 2nd day after got off it, still have rash.

High fever muscle aches and pains severe headaches. This after 1 dose.

Was given this medicine for a sinus infection. It's clearing up the sinus infection, but I have had a severe persistent headache since starting it. Have quit taking it and called the doctor to get a new antibiotic. WILL NEVER TAKE THIS MED AGAIN!

After just one dose of this med, had severe headace, high fever, numbness in the tips of fingers and toes, after 2 more doesage skin turned red as if being in the sun too much and rash all over. Went to the ER and said that must have the flu. Know reading all of the reviews that was incorreced info from the drs. We will be going back to the drs today to see if they can gave any thing for the rash. If you have to take this med, BE VERY CAREFULL, IF YOU NOTICE ANY OF THE SIDE EFFECTES TELL THE DR AND MAKE THE UNDERSTANDE THAT IT IS A REACTION FROM THE MED AND NOT THE FLU. this drug made me very ill had mood swings also felt bloated and had stomach cramps. I will not take this drug again I stop taking it after a week of suffering

Felt relief for my UTI after the first dose but the medicine makes me feel gross. Nausea, hot flashes, horribly headache. I also felt a tightness in my chest. I don't like this medication at all and wont take it again.

My son has been on this medication for his acne for 18 months, his white count is down to 2.7, so we discontinued use and are hoping it will go back up quickly, I am very concerned. Anyone else ever have this experience?

I got really sweaty and sick at school because of this medicine, then went to the nurse to seek treatment. Threw up two times during the day, and also had diahrea. Have suffered from a major headache since the first day I started taking this medicine. AND I am not seeing results- I now have an itching that I did not have before taking this medicine. The nurse recommended taking yogurt with this pill to lessen the side effects. Haven't tried it yet, but hopefully that will work!

I started Bactrim DS on Friday. (MRSA) I went to the ER on Monday due to an alergic reaction. I started feeling worse every day. From a rash to the worst hot and cold flashes I've ever had. By Monday I thought I was dying! Pulse was 124, swollen glands, trouble breathing, BP at 160/100. I have no idea how this medication could possibly be still prescribed or on the market. For those few people it helped, thats great. If your a first time user, I would call your DR up and request something else. I have never had an alergy in my life until I started taking this med. I have just finished my cycle I was perscribed this for Tonsilitis and I didn't have any side effects from this drug. I made sure I ate a meal then take the pill with plenty of water and FOLLOWED DIRECTIONS. I Started getting better the second day I was extreamly happy esepecially being a Nursing student I didn't miss any school.

so far so good; tried avalox and had severe side effects

been taking medicine for 4 days and have the worse migraine w stiff neck and aches.my stomachs also cramped up pretty badly.
