this medication gave me severe allergy SJS Stevens-Johnson Symptoms- which required hospitalization.

I have my last dosage tonight. The rash and swelling are resolved. No side affects or other issues. No more kisses on the cheek for me!

I was having acute protatitis. Doctor gave me allmost all antibiotics but failed. The he prescribed me Bactrim DS. I yielded excellent results. After taking it for two months with two tablets a day. I recovered from acute prostatitis. Excellent Medicine to cure UTI and prostatitis.

Gave me really bad headaches and made me feel nauseous

I have been having constant UTIs and I have taken this before with little problems, with the exception of some nausea. However, this time, I don't know if my body has gone toxic from the antis or what, but I feel like I've been poisoned is the only way I can describe it. Can barely walk, weak, fatigue, on and off again nausea, green urine?, feel hot, mood swings. I had one more pill left, but I'm not taking it because it will probably kill me.

Was told to take 2 times a day for 3 days. By the second pill on day one I had the chills BAD! but forehead was hot. Bottom of feet hurt and I couldn't stand long. Just wanted to lay down and sleep. Also had shortness of breath. Called the doctor the next day and told them my concerns. By this time I had itchy bumps all over my legs and fingers swelled up! They told me to continue to take the medications. Now they call and tell me that this medication will not treat my infection and now they have me on Ciprofloxacn every 12 hours for 10 days. This stuff is poison. Was given to treat a kidney infection and the side effects were worse than the infection itself. Headache, nausea, chills and depressive thoughts. Could not get out of bed. Had to go back to doctor to get another antibiotic. Will be adding this to the list of meds I'm allergic to.

I was prescribed this medication along with Keflex. I'm not sure if it worked or not for my skin infection. I broke out in itchy and painful hives all over my body. I haven't taken either medication since.

Dermatologist put me on Bactrim DS, to be taken twice a day with food. No side effects in the first few days and did a good job at clearing up my face. Currently I am on the 9th day and experiencing severe side effects. Fever, chills, extreme joint pain, muscle weakness and overall sluggishness. Also experiencing difficulty breathing, a tight chest, headache, and dizziness to the point of almost falling over, for no reason. The most severe of the side effects is the joint paint. Can hardly take a step on my right leg and cannot lift anything with my right arm. Bactrim does it's job however at the expense of your health. My infection is spreading like wildfire! :(

I had a UTI. After taking Bactrim DS 800-160 tablet during the afternoon, evening, and through midnight, I experienced severe diarrhea, severe vomiting, weakness, dizziness, and low blood pressure. I'll never take it again if I can help it.

my hands and arms are burning and itching severely in pain also and lower abdominal pain has started also

I had blood in my urine caused by a UTI. I had a UTI a couple months ago, which was treated with 7 days of Nitrofurantoin. That didn't clear it up. I still had itchiness and symptoms. The bloody urine stopped but then it returned, so I went back to my doctor and asked her for another antibiotic. She prescribed Bactrim. Bactrim side effects scared me. I almost didn't take it, but since my doctor said it would only be 3 days of Bactrim, I figured it should be okay and I wouldn't get such horrible side effects from just 3 day. (I didn't, but it doesn't mean you can't. It still is possible to get complications after even only 1 dose). Anyway, after the second day, the blood in my urine was gone. Yay! Plus, I had no ichiness. Now, on day 3, I have no signs of blood o r a UTI. I will go back to my doctor to get a urine test to make sure, but unlike with Nitrofurantoin where I felt the symptoms even after the 7 day course, Bactrim for 3 days has taken away all my UTI symptoms. Yay! One thing, I have to say, the pills are huge. :( I hate big pills. They are hard to swallow. Oh yeah, and make sure you drink lots of water while taking Bactrim because if you don't, you could possibly develope kidney stones. I did experience nausea one day, and a headache on day 1 and 2. Started taking med 3 days ago for recurrent UTI. I've taken it many times before with no problem, but this time I'm noticing the insomnia and mood changes that others have mentioned. No GI upset and it has worked well for me in the past.

Bactrim has been very effective in treating sinus infections

Took care of my UTI but caused me to have such severe nausea that I could barely eat, which caused me to have severe headaches. I hope I never need to take this again!!!!!

itchy/red/splotchy rash all over my body along with my lips swelling and becoming excessively chapped/dry. I experienced severe neck stiffness and an extreme loss of appetite, leading to me becoming underweight.

This medication was prescribed to me to treat a UTI (2 a day/10 days). After a couple days of use my entire body began to ache (it was very painful), I felt extremely weak, lethargic, and developed a fever and a swollen lymph node in my neck that was painful. I found out that this was not because of an allergy but my symptoms were common side effects from this medication. I would not recommend this to anyone.
