sever constipation muscle pains trouble walking

This is my second time having to take this medication. First time was for MRSA, and this time it's for an abcessed tooth with numbness in my face and jaw. Both times it has made me feel terrible. Nausea, dizziness,confusion, ringing in ears, and my entire body gets red especially if I'm in the sun. It's not an allergy, just a side effect...this drug is no joke. I'd stop taking it if I could, but don't want a blood infection. It works though, it does. It's just a really hard drug for a lot of our bodies to handle.Read More Read Less

This drug nearly killed both my mom and me at different points in our lives. 0/10 Would not recommend

Had intermittent fluttering of my heart. I actually could feel it. Stopped taking after 5 days problem went away.

Platelet count went down to dangerous level. Required IV steroids. Hospital determined it was caused by Bactrim and most likely because of a sulfa allergy

I am in the middle of the vomiting stage of side effects. But my skin infection (infected belly button) seems to be clearing up a little

I have 3 autoimmune diseases and had kidney cancer surgery. The hospital's gift to me was a MRSA infection which I had for 5 years. I took Bactrim DS for 5 years without issue but I also took a probiotic (pure acidophilus and Culturelle) every day. I did not experience any problems whatsoever. Antibioitics are "funny" medications working well for one person but not the next. If you are experiencing diarrhea add the two probiotics I include here but just one per day and 1 and 1/2 hours after taking the Bactrim DS with food.Read More Read Less

Definitely helped my skin infection but now i have serious diarrhea and heartburn ... Also have not been able to rest comfortably i really didnt imagine anti biotics causing this uncomfortable feeling .. Am i crazy or does anyone else understand what im experiencing?

After 3rd dose of this pill, I felt even worse. I had terrible side effects and completely lost my appetite. I was very nauseous and had diarrhea. I went back to my family dr on mon and requested a new antibiotic. He made a note not to prescribe this drug ever again. Did not work for me.

I've been taking Bactrim since 2002 for a staph infection after spine surgery; no problems!

Feel worse just after 3rd dose. This pill made me feel horrible. So nauseous I cant even eat to take the pill. I now have diarrhea also. Im calling my dr mon to ask for another antibiotic. I should be improving not feeling worse

I took it for four days and became very sick and nauseated. I could not tolerate this medication.

On just day 2 of taking this antibiotic - a very positive noticeable difference in the way a feel - Bactrim DS oral is obviously working very well.

No problems at all. I take it 2 times a day with food. Got the infection shortly after leaving hospital for ankle replacement. Luckily no rashes or nausea have been caused by this med like it has for others.

This isn't the first time I've been on Bactrim, the last time I broke out ina rash after being in the sun 5 minutes. This time it is working, I didn't break out in a rash after being in the sun. I am having heartburn if I take it with food. My legs are cramping which I thought was due to being outside and becoming dehydrated, but after reading these reveiews may actually be due to the meds. The side effects aren't fun, but they beat the painful infection I had on my leg with no explaniation where it came from. Mouth dried out, tongue swelled and blistered, glands in neck swelled up. stopped taking it but some signs still there.

This is bad stuff. Was given to prevent infection after a small cyst removed. headache,feel like crap, thought I was getting flu. light headed and ache all over. Never been alergic to anything before.

I have had none of the usual side effects however the insomnia is driving me crazy. When I was told I had a UTI I had no symptoms but once I started the Bactrim I have been itchy, dry mouth, Insomnia and when I do fall asleep I have nightmares. I never had this before. I am just baffled that I had no signs of the UTI but when I started this med it got a other issues.

TERRIBLE!! After 3 pills, Had horrible side effects of fingers so swollen could not move and flu like chills and fever, muscle weakness so severe I could not walk. DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICATION
