As a RA patient, my doctor and I looked at many scrips for this disease, didn't like the chance of all the side effects of some, this seemed easy to use with the least amount of side effects. After taking the meds for 3 years, my doctor pronounced me : In Remission : and told me to come back in 6 months. All I heard was the words, In Remission, and then quit taking the meds that day. I went alo...
Just started today. Hope it works! I read some of the previous comments. Scarey!!!! Hope I don't experience their side effects, especially the hair loss.

I have RA and I've been using hydroxychloroquine and sulfasalazine for 1-1/2 years. Everything is working, however my face has gotten blotchy. I had somewhat a flawless face and the only thing I can think of is the meds. But, I'm not in pain...what I'm I to do?

I have a condition called dermatomyositis. I have been treated with prednisone for almost 3 years. My doctor perscribed Hydroxychloroquine (twice a day)ten months ago in order to reduce the steriod use.I am now taking a very low dose of prednisone every other day. I have had no problems with my eyes but I am experiencing constant ringing in my ears.

For almost 2 years I have had a fummy rash all over my body but not my face. After seeing several Doctors I found out that I have Discoid Lupus. The Dermatologist that I am currently seeing put me on Hydroxychlor. After taking the pills for 4 weeks, I woke up one day with a red rash all over, except for my face, I can feel the rash in my mouth. So now I am waiting for Doctor to get back from vacation to find another drug.

I have SLE since I was 10. It was in remission for 10 yrs. then came back when I was 20 yrs. and stayed for 3 months, then went back into remission while taking prendisone. Now 6 yrs. later it has been back for 5 mths now and I was on a Depo-medrol injection that did not last the 2 mths it was supposed to. So I started taking this medicine about 2-3 wks. ago. So far, I still haven't had a flare since the beginning of Oct. Hopefully everything will stay good and I won't get any of the bad side effects of this medication. Maybe my Lupus might go back into remission like it has in the past time!Read More Read Less

I have Mixed Connective Tissue Disorder and have tried other medications. This is the only medication that's worked. My hair fell out with the other medications and pain was constent. Now I have minor pain in hands and swelling of legs and minor hair loss. I would recommend this medication for anyone with MCTD or RA.
