As a RA patient, my doctor and I looked at many scrips for this disease, didn't like the chance of all the side effects of some, this seemed easy to use with the least amount of side effects. After taking the meds for 3 years, my doctor pronounced me : In Remission : and told me to come back in 6 months. All I heard was the words, In Remission, and then quit taking the meds that day. I went alo...

The first generic i took caused a full body rash. Saw a specialist and he said try another brand. CVS changed generics and it doesnt cause a rash. Have been on it since december and joint pain has eased. Hair loss has been bad though. Has receded all around my face and sides are thin. Ive worked outside reading electric meters for the last 20 years so dont know if all symptoms that have gotten better are from quitting working or the drug.

I haven't been on Hydroxychlor 200mg very long, but I am already experiencing headaches, stomach upset, tiredness, appetite loss . . . just feel lousy. I know you should let your body get used to medicine, but I had a very violent reaction to Mobic last year. My kidneys were shutting down. I'm really afraid to continue it any further. I plan on calling my Doctor in the AM since this is Sunday evening.

I have been taking this drug for about 5 months for chronic Lyme Disease. It is one of the few drugs that is effective against the cystic form of Lyme Disease bacteria, which gives me hope that I may be able to beat this infection. It seems to control the constant twitching I experience througout my body. The drug has the added benefit of reducing the pain in my knees and hips from the Lyme arthritis. I felt relief from pain within the first couple of days. The one concern I have is with the serious side effect that can permanently damage one's vision. Usually, the risk of such damage is higher when the dosage taken is too high. I plan on taking this medicine for only a few more months to reduce my chances of damaging my vision.Read More Read Less

My rheumatologist put me on this drug about a year ago and I haven't had any side effects. My flares are much less frequent and don't last more than a day or 2, and I hurt a lot less than I did. Overall, I'm very happy with how it's working. I'm happy that I don't need methrotexate or any of the injectable meds at this point! Just Plaquinil, Celebrex and Tramadol.

I have / was on this medication in combination with prednisone blasts as well as methotrexate. I was on all medications for 3 years after being diagnosed. I am 42 years old and am in end-stage renal failure due to medications as well as the lupus. PLEASE keep up with your bloodwork and have your doctor run complete liver / kidney panels at the least every 3 months. This hit me fast. I was diagnosed with Lupus February 2007, and diagnosed terminal renal failure on March 1, 2011. PLEASE KEEP ON TOP OF YOUR HEALTH! TOO IMPORTANT TO STAY ALIVE. JENNIE TAMPA, FL. Read More Read Less

my rheumatologist gave me too high a dose -400mgs a day. A safe dose for my weight and height is 350mgs a day. As the drug is cummulative , and efficiently metabolised, unfortunately, so is an overdose ( I had 1,400mgs too much over just a month). I have now got blurry vision and some retinal changes that require further investigation. This drug is linked with retinopathy, but usually after a number of years continued use. I have no doubt that my own problems are due to overdose. Will post again when I have had the retinal photography done, but my opthalmologist has seen some changes to my retina using ordinary exam and slit lamp. retinopathy is generally irreversable.Read More Read Less

Not enought information regarding the hair loss side effect. Does the higher dose cause more hair loss or just the drug it's self no matter what does? How to avoid. Don't color hair? Don't use certain products? Don't use a blow dryer or hot iron or hot rollers. Thank you for any information you can give me. Margie Sanfillipo
