After a week of being stopped up, I decided to go to the pharmacy. I've never taken a laxative before, so I wasn't sure what to take. The pharmacist told me to try magnesium citrate, but warned me to be close to the bathroom 15 minutes after taking it. I got home and drank the bottle. After just an hour, I had my first somewhat solid poop. This was just the beginning. It felt like the flood gates opened up inside me. I was going every 20 minutes for a few hours. I couldn't believe how bad the diarrhea was. I woke up today and had to go two more times. I think it's finally over. My bowels ache and my butt is raw from all the wiping. MC has worked for me in the past. I used it several years ago it worked fine.Took it at 10:00 AM.IT is now 2:PM.Still waiting and hoping it works.

this is about the only thing that works for me. I take 1/2 bottle and have relief very soon. I my concern is is this salfe to take about every four days? Any comment would help.

I purchased from Dollar General. It was very cheap. I heard about this on Youtube and searched other sites and I wanted to start eating healthy and starting with a clean colon. I had some bloating then my stomach was talking to me(lol) Took early afternoon, the taste was bearable (cherry flavor) and within two hours I had a solid bowel movement now its 1 A.M. the next day and im still going nothing but water now. I've been eating and drinking plenty of water through out the day. Did not experience any cramping so far. Overall I feel good. But definitely had to stay indoors. Bad stomach pains all day most likely from poor diet the day prior. Needed to empty bowel and took MC. In 3 hours completely emptied stomach and started feeling much better. Plan to take it once every several months to clean out bowels and remove toxins as part of cleanse.

Be prepared for too much information.. I was badly constipated for well over a week. The last two days I had pushed so much I was extremely swollen and sore. I had bleeding the first day from pushing but there was too much swelling and nothing was working. I used a saline enema and another the next morning with no relief. I took stool softener with laxative both days and no relief. I tried a mineral oil enema and although it helped slightly still nothing could break it up or soften it enough to push out. I was ready to go to the ER when a pharmacist suggested Magnesium Citrate. I drunk about 8 of the 10 oz with 3 bottles of water. It was lemon and didn't taste that bad but the smell gagged me. After 8 oz i was too nauseated to finish it and decided to finish it later. I never had to finish it within the hour I was able to have a movement. I still had to push etc but it was finally soft enough to push out. Another hour and the liquid began and I had some vomiting as well but, after about an hour I was done for the night. I finally had some relief. This morning I have to run to the bathroom every 15 minutes but it has worked. I finally feel better. This worked for me when nothing else did and I'm really glad it was available. Having to stay around the house today is a small price to pay for something that works so well. I did have nausea cramping and gas with this product but I was so impacted that I'm sure that had much to do with it. This stuff really works. Drink LOTS of water with it though. I drunk 3 16oz bottles after drinking it and still had massive headache overnight. I am not a doctor or in the medical profession at all but I recommend drinking plenty of water the day you take this before and after, because I think in my case I was too dehydrated beforehand. I had to drink 2 bottles, 6 hours apart along with 2 laxative pills for a routine colonoscopy prep. The 1st dose started to work within 1 hour. 2nd dose was faster. 3 hours after 2nd dose, I was pretty much done. I only had to get up once during the night about 3 hours later. Definitely get the grape or cherry, and drink it cold. I just sipped each bottle over 20 mins, drinking some water as well. I don't think it is necessary to chug it. Make sure to drink alot of water, 32 oz, within an hour or so of taking it. Taste is tolerable. It does make your stomach feel like it's full of air, but I never felt sick. Plan to spend your time near the bathroom, b/c you don't get a lot of notice. I didn't have any cramping until the next day after the colonoscopy, as a result of the air they pump into your colon. The cramping was up high and took about 5 hours to go away entirely as the air works it's way thru your body. I had not been able to go for two weeks and ended up in the ER. The doctor told me to take a bottle of this. The taste is sour, but isn't too bad. You must drink a lot of water for this medicine to work. Be warned: this liquefies your stool. It will most likely be all liquid which alarmed me, but doctor said this was normal. (I only learned about this after the fact) Be near a bathroom. It took about two hours for this to work. No pain in my stomach, just a sudden urge to go. Relief!

My doctor told me to use this 2 years ago for constipation. If I ever have a problem that lasts more than a week, all I have to do is get me a bottle of this stuff. It does taste horribe, and it works for about a day and a half.

This product works for me. I have use it for years and never experienced any side effect. When I need assistance nothing else works.

This past month alone, I have had to travel to three different places so my diet and digestion were impacted by new food, environments, schedule. I had taken this last year when I was constipated (7 days) and it took more than 12 hours to take effect but when it did wow cleaned me out good, I mean really good like that scene from dumb and dumber! But during the wait I felt sick like I had to vomit, but never was able to vomit. This time I also took the entire bottle at 9:30pm, at 8:50 am the next morning had my first BM. I still felt sick during the night but not as bad as the first time I took it. Also the first time left me dehydrated and very week as I had not had a BM in 7 days you can imagine the amount of BM. This second time since I had only been constipated for 1 day, BM was very mild and not painful at all, smooth like jazz.. Would I take this again? Had 4 loose bowel movements

My pcp recommended this type of treatment for my severe constipation. I failed with oral laxatives tablets and Miralax. I tried the lemon flavor, not bad, but extremely tart. Caution: I experienced a lemony indigestion for a least a week after drinking one whole bottle. This medication was only somewhat effective for me. I experienced maybe four "muddy water" bowel movements in probably a twenty four hour period, but nothing substantial. I felt the medication working as I was drinking it. My stomach growled,rumbled and made all kinds of digestive noises. I felt my stomach bloating, hardness, and pain began to ease. But overall, I still did not feel completely relieved(empty.) this product did not work for me within the 6 hours it said on the bottle.I took it at 10am and didn't (go) untill the next morning.

nasty tasting

I drank a 10 oz. bottle, yesterday, at 6 p.m. I drank it without any problem, but did feel some queasiness later. It now is 11 a.m. and there has been no impact. I drink another bottle today at 3 p.m. We shall see.

I didn't really get the results from the m c as expected.

I am 45 years old, and for the VERY 1ST time in my life, am having GI problems. Saw a GI doctor for the 1st time EVER (went 2 months without ANY med. attention-hoping problems would just "disappear".) Doc did the "dreaded exam", took x-ray - film showed Profound Constipation, from top of esophagus all the way to top of rectum-IMPACTED!Prescribed blood-work, and instructed me to drink 3 of these-1 every 8 hours until stool runs clear. 1st bottle kicked in after 2 hours-approx. 7 BM,all liquid-was tied to bathroom for 2 hours straight-then no more activity for the next 4 hours. 2nd bottle took 4.5 hours to kick in, produced approx. 10 BMs-spent 3 hours in bathroom (this time not liquid movements - just VERY soft),excruciating pain in rectum like razor blades-had to go to sleep was up ALL night and pain was too severe, so had to wait to drink 3rd bottle. 5 hours later woke up and had 3 soft BMs. Waited 1 hour and then drank 3rd bottle. Took 1.5 hours and then had 5 soft and "piecey" BM's-no liquid to it, more razor blade feelings. Never wound up running clear, plus STILL not emptied out yet - stuff stopped working. Such pain and rectal bleeding (had it before I started - told Doc) Read on here that you shouldn't take this if you have ANY rectal bleeding - Doc had me do it anyway - makes me wonder about him.
