I was stopped up, so my plan was to drink it in the morning and go straight to the office and get er done on the company roll of toilet paper. Three miles to go, though and it was already churning up powerful peristalsis. By the time I burst through the office door the pressure at my rear sphincter had built up to about 40 PSI at least. I wasn’t fully emptying my bowel, I felt very constipated. Took stool softening pills two days in a row and no bowel movement. I was on day 4. Vomited undigested food and that was my reason for deciding to go ahead with the laxative. I took one bottle, started working within the hour. I had one solid bowel movement and the rest were liquid. No problems with it, the taste is tolerable.

I was required to take this medication to do a routine colonoscopy. The nurse instructed me to buy 4 bottles. Liquid fast all day. Drink two bottles at 6pm and 2 more 4 hours before the procedure. Just after 6pm i drank one of the two bottles. I purchased the cherry flavored. It made my jaws draw up it was so tart. I then drank some water. I had been drinking liquids all day and felt like an over sized water balloon. By 7:15pm this stuff started to do it's job. At about 8pm i drank another one. At this point I became very nauseous. I was using the restroom ever 15-30 minutes. At one point it was nothing but clear liquid coming out. I tried relaxing in bed and took in no more liquids he rest of the evening. I decided to skip the last two doses. It is now 6pm the following day. I've just had one solid meal all day but this stuff is still working. There are an extreme amount of air sound in my belly even at this hour. I couldn't imagine why I using all 4 bottles of this stuff. 2 did the trick just fine. I will save the other two for another time.Read More Read Less

Decided to needed to take a laxative due to no BM from the use of pain medication. Took it at 7pm — nothin other than feeling nauseous. 8 hours later, around 6am I woke up with some massive tootin’. I forgot I took a laxative and realized I couldn’t trust ‘em so I went to the bathroom. Ended up on the toilet for about an hour with EXPLOSIVE diarrhea. Explosive isn’t even an exaggeration. Anyways, here we are, almost 24 hours later and I’m still experiencing EXPLOSIVE diarrhea off an on. Ended up leaving work because I was scared I was going to chit my pants. Anyways, this stuff definitely works. Just make sure you are always near a toilet. Read More Read Less

Had foot surgery and was taking narcotics. Therefore I was constipated and stool softeners weren't cutting it. Drank half a bottle and produced a very large hard stool. I'm trying to get off of the narcotic

After finishing 1 bottle, I began to have stomach cramping that had me doubled over and in tears, but no movement. Doctor said take second bottle, which gave me even more extreme cramping. I started passing very hard stools, but still felt very full and bloated. It felt like there were rocks in my belly. Left me in bed in pain for days and I never did clean out fully. Had no positive effect or change on the inability to empty or the infrequent bowel movements that have plagued me for years.

Bee line to the restroom, fired off the charge into the bowl, which focused the blast wave back against by butt, knocking me an inch off the toilet seat. Thank God they keep extra rolls in the bathroom, because it took more than a roll to completely wipe off the splash-back that blasted my whole seated backside. No doubt about it; this stuff works.Read More Read Less

Doctor instructed me to drink one 10 oz bottle the afternoon prior to a scheduled flex sigmoidoscopy. I can't imagine any doctor instructing a patient to drink two bottles, one sure did the trick for me! Bought the cherry flavor and refrigerated it. It really wasn't bad tasting, kind of lemony tasting and I tried to convince myself that it was a soft drink. Drank 1/2 with 8 oz of water, then the 2nd half with another 8 oz of water. Done drinking it by 6:00 PM. I felt a little bit of bloating and upset stomach, but nothing uncomfortable. By 8:00 pm I was running to the toilet every 15-30 minutes which alleviated the bloated feeling. No cramps at all, just diarrhea. I agree with others that said it starts to burn after you've had runny diarrhea for awhile. It might sound gross, but I've found that putting a little dab of petroleum jelly on the rectum after you've cleaned yourself up each time you go puts a barrier between the diarrhea and your skin and helps with that burning sensation. Kinda like what you do for a baby that has diaper rash. By 11:00 I was able to go to bed and only had to get up once at 3:00 am and again at 5:00 am to go again. All in all, not a bad experience at all.Read More Read Less

I digestive system empties slow and constipation is always an ongoing problem. My doctor wants me to start to have a regular routine of using magnesium citrate. It was very hard for me to drink. I was looking for an "unflavored" one. Unfortunately I did not see one available. It reminds me of the colonoscopy prep. liquid and I have a hard time drinking that. Anyhow,, I finished the bottle and it took almost 6 hours for it to work. That't what brought me to this website and reading the reviews to see if anyone else had that problem. But, once it did start working, it worked! I have to say, comparing it to Linzess, I would say this cleans you out better. I just wish it was a little faster and it came in an unflavored form. i've never really had a problem with constipation, which is why i got kind of worried when i didn't have a bowel movement in three days. so, i went to the doctor and she prescribed two bottles of magnesium citrate and senna tablets. i drank half of the bottle last night around 5:30 pm, and then when to church. about 15 minutes into service, my tummy started awakening... the gurgles. however, i didn't want to do the walk of shame down the isle while people stared at me... so i held it in. tip: DONT DO THAT!! i got home, and nothing. this morning around 6:30, i drank the other half. within 10 minutes i'm pretty sure a grenade went off in my tummy... cause it was a complete explosion. i never really felt the urge to go... i just started having the gurgles and felt stuff moving around. this stuff is great! it really truly helped with my constipation. i would recommend drinking water after every few sips just to help it go down a little better. enjoy!! Works well and for me is more effective than any pill form of laxative and produces results quicker. The one thing that I strongly recommend is that you drink a minimum of 8 ounces of liquid after taking it (water works best) and I suggest that you drink more than that and drink at least 12 ounces (I usually double the recommended amount to 16 ounces). My experience has been the more liquid you consume the quicker the results.

I was prescribed this before a kidney stone lithotripsy surgery procedure; the doctor wanted my bowel "cleaned out". I gulped this whole nasty-tasting bottle down in two gulps. Recommendation #1 - get it cold, cold, cold - it helps. Recommendation #2 - hold your nose and chug it. It doesn't taste good, although the grape is probably the least-offensive flavor (basing that on Dimetapp vs. cherry-flavored cough syrups). Okay, after you've drunk this stuff, then drink a whole lotta water. At least 16 oz. And then - DO NOT GO OUT. DO NOT GO TO WORK. DO NOT GO JOGGING. DON'T DO ANYTHING. Because when it hits, it hits hard. So, they say 1/2 hour to 6 hours. In my case it was 10 hours. I was woken up by the need (so I thought) to toot. Do not, under any circumstances, toot while you're on this stuff. Trust me, you really, really don't want to shart this stuff. I thought about trying to relax the ol' back door and squeeze out a cloud, but then I thought - oh, maybe not, let's go give the porcelain throne a try. THIS WAS A GOOD CALL. This stuff literally explodes out of your sphincter. I mean, I probably coulda shot a brown stream a good six feet out my hole. I became, for a brief while, the nastiest Ultimate Super Soaker From Hades. I cannot begin to describe the magnitude of the horror it would have been, if I had tried to stay put and had sharted in the bed. I mean, it would have been like cleaning up after Hurricane Katrina. I'd still be doing laundry. Heck, I'd probably have had to move.Read More Read Less

X-ray showed really plugged up. Dr. said take one bottle and it will clean me out. Took the bottle, nothing in 24 hours. Back to the Dr. - take another bottle. In the following 24 hours I had numerous small, liquid movements. Not sure if I was cleaned out. So it is now 5 days later, still very small, mostly liquid, movements and no regular movement. I had taken this before for colonoscopy with no trouble...two bottles in 48 hours and questionable results.

I was backed up. I drank it according to the instructions and followed with a lot of water. Took a while to start, but once it did it didn't want to stop. It felt like liquid fire spraying from my butt - acidic really. It burned very badly! Would have rather stayed plugged up.

Instructions said to drink a glass of water with it, so I poured it over ice and mixed in the water. Went down easy. Started working in about 45 minutes. The first movement blasted out with the force of a cannon. WHAMMM! I actually felt lift. From then on, it was watery defecations every 30 minutes or so. No discomfort except for the first mighty blast.

I had a severe motocross injury which led to me taking a lot of pain killers which in turn backed me up. I bought a bottle of the citrus kind and it tasted like really really sour lemonade. A few hours later I had a very sudden erruption of my bowel and 3 days later I am still suffering. Product worked well but enough is enough...
