I had deterioration (skier, Tennis & Pickleball)of the knee function over the years. After 3 injections (in each knee) I had significant relief. 2 years later the left knee was not so good. Had 3 more injections there and have had significant relief, again!

Synvisc One in June 2011 was barely OK. Synvisc One i9n December 2011 caused extreme pain, swelling and brief hospitalization. I found out others have had a very bad negative reaction on maybe the second or third injection.

I was having terrible knee pain at night. After my very first injection the pain subsided completely. I know I will still need knee replacement surgery but this injection pushes it off into the future. Almost a month after my last injection and my knee still feels great...! Most of all I can sleep at night.

I have had two injections so far. The medicine has reduced my pain. Lsst week,I took my regular blood test and found out that my white cell count was low. I don't know if this is a side effect of this drug. Tomorrow, I am going for my last shot and I will inquire.

Ever since I had the injections, I’ve had severe pain off and on, sometimes for hours. My knee is now always tender where my tendons and ligaments fasten. Before the shots, I had a pinch that would happen on the inside of my knee as I took each step. After the first shot swelling of the lower leg started. Within a few days of the second shot, my whole knee was sore. After the third shot, I started losing bending range in my knee. After two months, I still had severe pain. An MRI was performed and it exposed a torn meniscus right where I was suffering the pinching sensation on the inside of my knee. That has since been repaired, and the pinch has subsided, but all the other pain is still haunting me. It has been four months since the shots and six weeks since the surgery. I have yet to gain back my flexibility and I have the same pain that started after the shots and before the surgery. The doctor continues to say, "give it time." Read More Read Less

I just had a Synvisc One injection in each knee today. I just read many comments from people who thought the injections were so painful that they would not ever have them again. My experience was the opposite. Compared to the chronic knee pain I have the injection pain was like nothing! Do not let their warnings stop you from trying something that could give you relief. It does take 30 days to to see if it's effective so I'm hoping for the best. I'll let you know when I know! Good luck to you .... Read More Read Less

loss of snynovial fluid around joint. Took the required injections. Pain around knees for about 3 days. Gave a little relief - only lasted about 3 months. Has anyone heard that this drug is formaldehyde based? If so I am very upset that I let someone inject me with something that we know is very dangerous.

Had my first injection 16 months ago. Swelling and slight stiffness disappeared. I was able to do racewalking with ease and supplemented that activity with swimming and easy stationary bike. Now swelling and slight stiffnes has come back but no real pain. Planning to go in for next round of injections(3). Excess fluid removal is the thing that it helps me with the most so I can do the fitness activities I like to do. Running and skiing I basically avoid.

LOVE IT! LOVE IT! Yes, the injection hurts like heck! But it's certainly been worth it to me. Have severe knee pain. Basically bone on bone in the right knee. Had surgery and cleaned it up once. Tried various medications over the years. Did PT for a while also. No relief. Only 48 years of age. My Doctor wants to get me a couple of more years before doing a knee replacement if possible. About 3 years ago he suggested I try Synvisc. Then it was only available as a series of 3 injections. 1 a week for 3 weeks. I felt relief within 3 days of the 2nd injection of the series. Then a year later the 1 injection became available. So far I've had 2 of these. So 1 injection is lasting a year for me. Great results! Won't kid you, it HURTS but after that I am good to go for another 11 months before it starts aching again. I know that's my sign to schedule the next injection.Read More Read Less

I received Synvisc in three injections about 3 months ago. Upon completion of the third injection, my knee pain was almost totallygone. I do experience some occasional discomfort, but it is minor. I will not hesitate to receive additional injections when needed.

had r-knee scoped in Oct 2011. Dr. removed catalidge on left side of knee, still had pain after surgery. Had cortizone injection, no help. Had Synvisc-one injection 4 weeks ago, still no help. Now Dr. say I have to have knee replaced. Synvisc-One was very expensive and a waste of money. PS: also changed doctors

I've gone thru 2 rounds of Synvisc. It has not lasted 6 months either time. In 5 months the pain was back. Some injections were definitely more painful than others. It's a temporary fix.
