My doctor prescribed colace to me for constipation in addition to my percoset after my tonsillectomy. Colace did nothing for me. Not one single bowel movement and ive beem taking it for a week as well as eating nothing but prunes, raiain bran, yogurt and fresh steamed vegetables. I ended up in the hospital vomiting couldn't hold down even water come to find out it was an impaction in my intestines. they told me to take colace to prevent it from happening again. I haven't had any issues since.

I was instructed to take more than recommended dosage to relieve chronic constipation that has occurred since pelvic radiation treatment. I use approx. 8 gel caps a day and still have dry hard to pass stools.

Believe it or not, this medication has a secondary use. I do not recommend using it personally without medical guidance, but I am a medic in the US Army, and we also use colace for ear impactions. It softens the wax buildup and helps the impaction come out with ease. I have used peroxide and the ear drops, but nothing I have used comes close to this medication.

My doctor told me to take 2 daily. Nothing happened, so over a week I increased to taking actually 6 daily. It's been 2 weeks now and still no movement :( My stomach is extremely bloated as I'm sure you can imagine. Going to go straight to laxitives tomorrow even though I know you aren't supposed to get dependant on those.

I used Colace along with a suppository when it was too painful to pass a stool due to a few days of constipation. Colace solved the problem and I was pain-free!

I took this medication on the advise of my OB for constipation during pregnancy not releived by increased fiber/fruits/veggies. It worked after 3 days! However, it did make me swell up which makes me a bit achy, but it did solve the poop issue!

At one point my bowl movements completely stopped. This helps me go but sometimes I still have a hard time.

I had rectal bleeding from straining too much.I also was bloated, and often felt rushed to finish. Colace made it easier for me to elimnate! Also had hard stools at times, not always. Recommend drinking more water when taking this product for sure. But it was great!
