I was prescribed Augmentin for chronic sinusitis. 14 day treatment after z-pak didnt work. After the 1st week, I had diarrhea, cramping, indigestion, acid reflux, nausea, fatigue, anxiety and insomnia. I was taking probiotics while on it. I experienced mild thrush on the days I didn't take the probiotics. I also had a fluorescent discharge on the last 2 days. I had a gyn exam 2 days before I started the med, so I am sure I had no gyn infections/issues before starting the augmentin.

Effective as far as treating the infection. The diarrhea (almost exploding) and stomach grumbling are quite annoying - they started on the 3rd day of treatment. I had occassional headaches and frequent urination. I am hoping that the BRAT (bread, rice, applesauce, toast) will help with the diarrhea but will also try to take probiotics and some yogurt. I still have 4 days to go.

This medicine still has not taken my fever away and I'm on the fifth day. I have constant diarrhea which is something I never experience. This stuff is gross! My stomach is hurting all the time and I feel so wrung out and tired. Never again.

Worked great only had diarrhea on the second day but otherwise very effective.

I had UTI while pregnant and I used it. It Worked right away and took care of the problem.

DO NOT take this drug! I contacted C Diff after 6 days-became very sick due to potassium sulfate in med. Infection settled in my foot resulting in nerve damage. I am still struggling 8 weeks later-Xrays , bloodwork, bone scan, MRI all due to this drug! Sadness

what would be the experation date on this product. how long does it last

After being sick with the normal cold symptoms it moved to my chest. I coughed hard and ran some fever with chills. Then I continued to have a tickle in my chest with an acid reflux feeling. I finally went to the doctor and he gave me the augmentine 875mg x 125 clavanic acid mixture. I took two tablets and within 24hrs the cough symptom was all but gone. I am still taking it for the next 7days and will write another review afterwards.

I had a severe mucus build up in my chest, and my doctor gave me Augmentin to prevent me from getting more sick from it. At first, this medicine just made me drowsy, but after day 2 I got very naucaus and had diairrah. (granted I am a 5'4 108 pound girl) My doctor warned me that the side effects would be worse for me becuase I was so small. Overall, this got rid of my mucus build up and my cough, and also kept me from getting sick.

A cat bite on my knuckle swelled up and got hot with expanding redness overnight. I started oral Augmentin about 24 hours after the bite. By day two, the heat and redness was gone. By day three, the swelling was gone. That's the positive side. I've had a pile of side effects. Rather violent diarrhea which stays under control with a quart of yogurt a day and one or two probiotic pills- some days easier to control than others; a moderate headache; sour stomach; and significant fatigue. I am on day 3 of 7 of Augmentin oral. I have had no side effects other than a little sleepy. I take it with a full bottle of water and a snack. My symptoms have improved greatly, although not completely gone yet. It improved so much, I didn't realize just how uncomfortable i really was with this UTI. I finally had sex again, and it felt amazing! Not like how it did while I was in full symptom swing of this UTI. Going to cross my fingers as I have a phobia of taking medications. I was freaking myself out taking this, and it was all for nothing. I am fine and so is the rest of me lol. I'll take the sleepiness if it rids the uti.Read More Read Less

DO NOT TAKE AUGMENTIN! It'll kill u before the infection does. 1 dose, then 6 hrs heaving and finally to ER heaving blood

I took this drug after a miscarriage and I got an infection from leaving my placenta in the uterine cavity. I found out that I am deathly allergic to this stuff! I couldn't breath, I was itching and wanting to pull my hair out, and I got lumps on the back of my head! Don't use it unless you know of any allergies relating to Amoxi's or Penni's please!

After 3 days it gave me a terrible dry cough and throat that no amount of fluids would cure. I also had a bad case of insomnia.

ON THE 8TH DAY OF TAKING AUGMENTIN , I DEVELOPED HIVES AND SWOLLEN LIPS

I have to take it for 10 days- every 12 hours. Excellent I'm on my fiveth day and no more yellow stuff. This is a very strong med.please take it with food. No milk and it is working for me.

It worked almost over night to alleviate the pain from my ear infections........BUT I have to balance that with terrible diarrhea that came along with it! I vaguely remembered that happening once before when I was on it. I know I won't forget this - will talk to Dr about taking something else should I have the same symptoms again!!

I was prescribed this medicine for bronchitis, but unfortunately it didn't work for me. I took it with a probiotic, and had no stomach upset, but after 5 days, I wasn't feeling much better. Went back to the doctor, got a new diagnosis of walking pneumonia and a Z-pak.

Took a potent probiotic 2x a day while taking this drug and had no side effects at all.

I am experiencing severe stomach pain and diarrhea from the medication. I'm trying to stay hydrated and I am afraid to eat anything because I am not sure if it will cause more diarrhea. It is a Saturday night, so I would have to go to emergency room to get medical attention.
