This is the best antibiotic out there for me. It clears my ear congestion up and sinus problems from my allergies better than anything else. I wish more doctors would prescribe this instead of pushing zpack. My internist wants to always prescribe regular amoxicillan and it just doesn't work for me.

First off, I wish I had read the reviews prior to taking this drug. My Dr put me on this because I have nasal polyps and a deviated septum which he thinks is causing me to have a chronic sinus infection. Because of the severity of my sinusitis he wanted me on this for 2 weeks to start, up to 4 total. I am on day 5 of this and the first couple of days were OK. Skip ahead and I am now spending m...

Yes, it will fix your sinus issues, BUT the effects are horrible on your stomach, diareah and stomach pain, loss of appetite. There has to be a better way

This antibiotic is effective but its REALLY hard on the stomach. In order not to have the stomach distress I eat a LOT of Yoplait yogurt when I am taking the med. I've taken it for regular middle ear infections to the latest bout with cellulitus of the ear.

This was given to me for Strep throat. I feel almost as worse now as before. Main problem is I feel so weak and don't want to eat. Also I have terrible headaches with a roaring sound in my head that makes it hard to get to sleep. I have taken it for 3and1/2 days and after reading other reviews, I am stopping now and calling my Dr. tomorrow for something else.

I was prescribed 875mg 2x a day for a sinus infection. NEVER AGAIN. The drug is over 50 years old, and there are much better options out there. Who the heck would want to take 2 ENORMOUS and toxic pills twice a day for 2 weeks? WTF is this 1955? Does not help that my doctor is an idiot, and just randomly prescribes drugs without doing tests. Cleared the sinus infection yet caused me to get thrush, an extremely painful infection in the mouth.

My 9 yr old son had blood poisoning from a small cut on his foot getting infected. The medicine worked to get rid of the symptoms but he had bad side effects. Vomiting, Diarrhea, stomach pain, worn out body and headache. It tasted awful and it was really hard to get him to take it. I had to disguise it in pudding and choc. milk. He has been on it for 5 days and he will not be taking it again. I will have to call the doc. for an alternative treatment.

My reaction to this medication has been unfavorable. I have episodes of dizziness and swollen glands in the groin area with possible yeast infection.

I was prescribed this medicine after a surgical incision got infected. It cleared up my surgical infection. However, I took it for 7 days and had severe diarrhea the whole time. I am still having it, and I have been off the meds for 4 days. Also, I developed a lot of vaginal itchiness, which turned out to be a yeast infection. It killed all my good bacteria, I think. I won't be taking this medicine again!

this medicine had absolutely no effect on my current bout of chronic sinuitis. within 3 days of starting med, i developed bad case of what must be thrush so now have to make dental appt. and, for those of us not on insurance, it is much more expensive than other antibiotics - $42/1 week supply.

I've taken this drug on three occasions...with the same result. The doctor prescribed it for bronchitis (I am not a smoker). But my bronchitis got progressively worse and I ended up with pneumonia...all three times. Now, if a doctor proposes giving me an antibiotic, I tell them "Not Augmentin...it does not work for me...I end up sicker than when I started."

i was given this antibiotic (875mg) for a sinus infection and my daughter (22 months old) the 600mg suspension for an ear infection. i was reluctant to take it (or give it to my daughter) because of the negative reviews but i have to say that neither of us have had any adverse side effects. not even diarrhea a common symptom of antibiotics. no upset stomach either. it's been one of the easiest antibiotics i/we have taken. and i'm someone that is normally sensitive to medication in general.

i am taking he 875mg pills, so far so good, i have a repetitive sinus infection all year, this is the fist time on this high of a dose, i have a heart condition and am a diabetic, i take 19 pills a day and 5 shots of insuline a day, so far no side effects from this except pain in head and face and ears and throat are now gone. being a diabetic watch your sugar, this med may lower your sugar, i got as low as 56 the other day. i have had none of the throwing up or bathroom problems with it and if it gets rid of this sinus infection i will be really happy, i am sorry to see that it has not worked for some due to the side effects, but i think it is a strong drug and effective , i do feel sleepy a lot but that could be due to the cheritussen they gave me for the cough i have, it has the codein in it. but yea it is working for me, hope it eradacates this infection, have had it on and off now 6 times this year.Read More Read Less

I took Prednisone 10mg and Augmentin 875mg twice a day for the first three days and continued with just the Augmentin twice a day for 10 days. Yes, I felt a little light headed but the end result was well worth it. I have had acute sinusistus for more than 40 years and this has been the best result for me. The pills are large but since they're scored I just break them in half. I would take this medication combination again.
