I HAD AN ACUTE CASE OF SINUSITUS AND I FELT THE POSITIVE EFFECTS OF THIS ANITBIOTIC IN ABOUT 3 DAYS AFTER THE FIRST DOSE. MY HEAD DID NOT FEEL LIKE IT WAS SPLITTING OPEN AND MY SINUS PASSAGES WERE CLEARED UP. THE DOWN SIDE OF THIS MEDICINE IS THAT I IMMEDIATELY DEVELOPED A SEVER CASE OF DIAREHA! MY STOMACH WILL NOT QUIT CHURNING. IT'S SO NOISY THAT IT'S BEEN WAKING MY HUSBAND UP AT NIGHT! I'M ON MY 7TH DAY OF THIS MEDICINE AND STILL CANNOT STAY OUT OF THE BATHROOM. I have been on this medication for 3 days for "possible" strep along with sinus issues. As of today nothing has changed, I still have my lovely "pus pocket" on my tonsil along with NOT being able to breathe from my nose. I wake up each morning at 4 to run to the bathroom before I have an accident. I would look for an alternative before using this again.

Generic brands of this drug are not to be confused with this drug! Not the same thing. Law states only a certain percentage of the generic has to be the same!!!! Augmentin works just great when taken as presccribed.

I was put on the generic of this to treat strep throat. For the first 3 days, I had no improvement in symptoms and in fact felt worse; the medicine made it impossible to eat because of the nausea and stomachache. Plus, I was itchy all over. Finally it started to kill the throat pain, but the other side effects never went away. Terrible.

I was prescribed Amoxicillin/Potass 875-125 mg, generic for Augmentin, for treatment of a possible sinus infection. I had been fighting a cold for almost 3 weeks and finally went to the doctor. I HIGHLY recommend not taking this drug if you have hemorrhoids. This drug caused diarrhea and other stomach problems. I was given 14 days, 2 pills a day, and stopped 4 days into it. Now, 6 days later, I am still experiencing loose stools and more problems with my hemorrhoids than I have had in 40 years. I will never take this drug again. Read More Read Less

This medication was prescribed for my 10 year old son for a skin infection. he is taking 500 mg., 2xday. Today is his 8th day and he has developed a skin rash all over his body. Reaction??? I am taking him to his pediatrician today.

i recieved this medecation on monday by monday evening i was feeling much better, but there is a small dry itchy spot in mu anal area

This is the fastest acting antibiotic I've ever had. I had a very painful ear infection, and strep throat. Whithin 24 hrs. I felt great. My only complaint was that it made me a little tired, but who doesn't like to sleep when they're sick? Best ever!!!

This is the quickest acting antibiotic I have ever used. The ear infection was my secondary condition, very bad Strep throat was my main condition. This cleared up the worst Strep I've ever had in less than 48 hrs. Taken with food and yogurt, I've had zero side effects and no stomach issues. I will always request this drug in the future.

Had very severe dog bites on my arm, and given Augmentin, to prevent infection. As with other antibotics I ended up with a yeast infection but NO infection and healed quite well.

Horrible side effects.Rash, dizziness, nausea, itchy, bruising. Felt worse while taking the drug. Stopped after two days. Will be calling the doctor

After having a chronic sinus infection for years, this is the only thing that worked. I don't usually take this high of dose, but have only had a rash that I am not sure if it was from this or the illness itself this time, since I had a sinus infection, bronchitis, laryngitis, and more. When I first took it, it was difficult, and I had experienced thrush and diarrhea in the past, but have had no such issues the last few times. I gave this drug only 4 stars because of only being on it for 3 days but other than feeling groggy & fatigued which can be related to ANYTHING, its been great! I haven't had any stomach issues including diarrhea but EVERYONE here must remember or become educated on how antibiotics work on the system. ANY TIME you take ANY ANTIBIOTIC and do not replace the "good" bacteria the meds are killing as well with a probiotic you're "almost" always going to have intestinal issues; diarrhea, gas, thrush, yeast infections etc! ALWAYS ALWAYS supplement w/ a great probiotic, especially acidolphilous! Read More Read Less

Swelling brusing in the face and arms and legs from itching

There was no adverse side effects except stomach discomfort, but it did not get rid of the infection. Ended up having to go back to the doctor the week after the prescription was done to get a stronger antibiotic, because had a relapse.

I take 875 mg for 14 days. This is the only antibiotic that will kill my respiratory infections. I have "common variable immune disorder" and also emphysema & bronchiectasis. This is a great drug.
