I was prescribed Augmentin for s sinus infection and given the generic version. This is the worst medication I have ever been on. It did absolutely nothing for my sinus infection and the side effects made me sicker than I was before going to the doctor. I was told to take it with food or it might upset my stomach, but it upset my stomach with or without food. I developed horrible diarrhea and my already high fever only got worse. At one point it reached 104.9! I was so weak because I was afraid to eat anything for fear I might throw up again. My "lady area" was also starting to get very sore. Medication works,but man oh man the symptoms suck for women,not only do you got your diarrhea and stomach aches,but it also comes with a mild yeast infection,which ladies this med is built to eliminate bacteria in your body even the good ones for your vagina!!!Its the worst itch and burn ever!ladies be warned.

I get a sinus infection once a year and always take this. The Z-Pack makes me sick. The pills are HUGE and you have to be on them for 10 days, but they always knock out my sinus infections in 2 or 3 (take the whole dose though). They do give me yeast infections, however, so I get a prescription for Diflucan to knock that out while I'm at it.

Very tried and stomach upset but if I ate something before was better.Very weak also.

extreme dizziness. nausea. blurry vision. difficulty focusing. general feeling of illness. prescribed for ingrown toe problem. stopped after three days. horrid side effects. LARGE size is difficult to swallow. has to be something else out there as a med of choice.

This medicine helped me with my sinus infection right away. I've been on it before, so I knew I had to eat alot every time I take it, and as long as I have a pretty good size meal right before I take it, I'm not too sick to my stomach. One thing I have noticed is that I'm extremely tired and low on energy which could have to do with my sinus infection anyways...I also am taking a probiotic with it.

It does make you drink a lot of fluids.

I am being prescribed 4000 mg of Augmentin for 14 days. This is a very strong dose and I have never felt so bad in my life. I have only been on the medication for 2 days and have been so sick. I can't keep any food down and I have constant diarreah. My doctor insists this is the only medication that will help and it has to be this high of a dose. I have no energy and tired all the time but can't fall asleep. I would not recommend this medication to anyone, simply because of my experience.

I'm taking this medicine for a number of reasons, but not really happy with it. Unfortunately, I got the rare side effect of "taste problems" or so they call it. Nothing I eat or drink tastes right... The only thing thats okay to go in my mouth is water. The medicine is working so far though.

thought i was dieing.severe chest pain,shortness of breath ,skyrocketed my bloodpressure,felt like my insides were being squueezed.anxiety, couldnt sleep,constipation,neck n chest red,felt like i needed dr.s supervision 24hrs was terrified. was put on bp meds and xanax 4 anxiety. thanks 2 these comment on here i just figured out the cause.dr thinks its chemical imbalance since i thought i was dieing .it was this medication.

DIARRHEA, DIARRHEA, & MORE DIARRHEA!!!!! I HATE IT!!!!!

I came on this site to read reviews about this medication because being on my 8th day I woke up with hives/rash on my entire body. As I read other reviews this seems to be a common side effect. Sure hope it goes away soon. Up until today I had not had any problems except slight nausea/diarrhea. Don't think I would take this again.

After reading these reviews one can get a little scared and yes it is very harsh on the stomach. I have a 3 year old, he has had to use this med 2 times now both for an ear infection. Both times he showed improvement by the 2nd day but diarrhea sets in even after the first dose. So I take acidophillis pills, which is the probiotic found in yogurt and open the capsule into whatever he is drinking, with each cup of juice or water I put the contents of one pill in and stir it up, it has no taste, this is a good alternative if your child, like mine, has no appetite when he/she is sick. By day 3 on the probiotic these is no more diarrhea. Hope this helps!Read More Read Less

still swelling after 5 days

My grandson experienced n/v for 1 day after taking the medication for four days and started having loose stools on the same day and they have cont. along with Peri-area rash/welting, and testicles extremely red and inflamed.Now on the seventh day he woke up with an elevated temp of 101. I feel like one of his ears is getting better.

I have pain in my rear back right below my right Kidney that still after 6 days of taking medication, pain persists. I also have asthma and it's good

already posted a day ago however it is Sunday..no Dr. oncall...i am very week..pain in area of bladder..both legs swollen.. vomited..given supposotory to keep pills down..very afraid..i have RAYNAUDS..SJGROINS, MANY EYE INFECTIONS..AM BRUISING..CAN NOT EAT. 1 YR. AGO i tried to tell my MD..i have a bad sinus problem..u have allergies..HE DID A NASAL SWAB BLOOD WORK..CAME IN VERY SERIOUS.. (iHAD PASSED OUT IN THE EXAM ROOM).. the daughter of a friend..40YRS OLD..A SCHOOL TEACHER HAD THIS HSPPEN TO HER IN ANOTHER CITY..SHE DIED OF MENINGITIS EXCUSE THE SPELLING..FROM A SINUS INFECTION..AT THE MED. After 3 days of taking this drug I have extreme itchiness of the vaginal and anal areas. It is intolerable and I have notified my doctor. I am being treated for ischemic collitis. I am taking a probiotic but I don't think it helps the itch. I will never take this drug again.

I was perscribed this drug (875 mg 1 pill 2x/day) for a chronic sinus infection. I immediately developed nausea which I could put up with but developed very severe diarrhea by the second day and had to stop taking the drug after 3 days. Also developed a vaginal infection. Am waiting for a different prescription from my doctor -- I have not taken it since yesterday moring so am starting over. It was helping the sinus infection though.
