Well my right tonsil grew back and with it grew an abcess on the right side of my throat. instead of growing down and across, it is growing up toward my teeth. i was given clindamycin 300mg 4xs a day for 10 days to try and fight it, come to find out im allergic to clindamycin. SO i been on Augmentin for 3 days and so far so good (knock on wood) no big side effects. have a small rash and it causes diarrhea .. annoying side effect but if it takes care of the abcess then it is worth it.

I had a bite from an insect and was hospitalized for five days and I was sent home on this medication. I felled bad for the first three to four days with symptoms of dizzness, and stomac upset. This is one of the worst drugs I 've had to take in my life.

BPH..aggravation. Difficulty urinating

I'm taking it for a tooth infection. At first it seemed to work well, only causing some vomiting. By the 4th dose I experienced severe dizziness and a couple of blisters on my arm. The dizziness was the worst, as if drunk and need to pass out dizzy.

No stomach upset, slight constipation. Worked best for this type of infection.

No side effects for me. I was a little apprehensive after reading so many reports from those who had negative ones. I have taken 10 days of this now, one tablet every 12 hours, total of 20 tabs. Taken with toast, at least, and no nausea or trouble at all. Within about 4 days I noticed significant improvement, yet I still have a slight infection in my sinuses on one side, so will now be given another antibiodic, biaxin (sp?) Hope it does the job.

this drug has caused me severe stomach pain and hard to breath am stopping and calling my doctor will never take again this lousy drug again worse reaction I have had with medication only been on 2 days would hate to see how few after 10

I was bitten by my cat while attempting to put her in her pet carrier for a trip to the vet. I woke the next morning with my finger twice it's size, bright red, and hot to the touch. It did take a few days but it cleared up completely without any of the side effects mentioned by others. Would not hesitate to take again. I only gave a 4 stars for ease of use because the pills are large and I have a hard time swallowing them.

I had severely infected stitches in my thumb. I started on the augmentin 825mg on a Wednesday evening. Thursday evening I was bloated, gassy and had an upset stomach. The infection cleared up almost immediately though. I'm going to continue the meds until Monday when I return to the doctor and report my side effects. When my kids were little they had horrible diarrhea and couldn't keep any foods down. Couldn't tolerate it at all.

Outstanding stuff!!!! Used it about five years ago too! Knocks out the infection quickly, I have never had any side affects at all. When I get bronchitis and a sinus infec tion (about every five years) I now ask for it. yeas ago Dr gave me just Amoxicillion and it did nothing.

On day 6, very minor G.I. symptoms but awake every night with severe neck/headache. O.K. during the day. ???????????

I was prescribed this drug for acute Sinusitis. I did well while taking it, but 2 days after my 10-day prescription was done, I broke out in hives, first starting on the soles of my feet, then my hands, and then my knees. The knees happened today...waiting to see what breaks out next. Am taking Benadryl, as prescribed by my doctor, which knocks me for a loop. But, it's better than the itching, which occurs mostly in the middle of the night.

Ive been on it for a week now and not much significant changes, still coughing all the time, still yellow mucus associated with infection, the only thing thats really improved are my sinus headaches and my fever is dissipating.

I took an 875mg dose and even if I ate well before taking it made me violently sick at my stomach, and did not let up till I was experiencing dry heaves. I discontinued and later tried to take it again with the same bad results. Finally had to give it up.

In all fairness, I've only been taking drug for 3 days (7 remaining) But when I had diarrhea and headaches all yesterday, I wanted to read up on this since I'm allergic to most other antibiotics.I'm stopping. Reading these comments has frightened me.

2 days after beginning this medication the nausea started....and didnt stop...will try a probiotic if not will call dr for something else.

I had a pimple on my eyebrow which turned nastier and infected the surrounding areas including my cheek. The doctor prescribed Augmentin. Normally all antibiotics I have taken have had no side effects. Within a day of taking Augmentin I was violently sick, for two days. I persevered till the end but during that week felt listless, stomachy and ate meals although I didn't feel like them. I will certainly inform my doctor of my experience when I visit him again.

Augmentin always knocks out my sinus infections really quickly. Unfortunately, it also makes me break out in hives and itch all over my scalp, hairline, neck, back, chest, stomach, wrists and ankles. Itching started in the 8th day of treatment and didn't stop for several weeks. Benadryl helps, but itching comes back with a vengeance after it wears off.

Doesn't clear up sinus infection. Produced rash, abdominal cramps, diarhea.

I have been fighting sinus infections monthly for 2 or more years. Prescribed Augmentin for 6 months. First two weeks had the constant headache, finally subsided. No diarrhea or nausea. Am careful to take pill 1/2 way thru meal and eat yogart or probiotic everyday. Have a constant "fuzzy" taste in mouth. Ulcer appeared between gum and lip, went away after 4 days. Pills seem to make me retain fluids. Am on week three of pills, so far, so good. Would rather deal with pill than the constant sinus infections.Read More Read Less
