This is the best antibiotic out there for me. It clears my ear congestion up and sinus problems from my allergies better than anything else. I wish more doctors would prescribe this instead of pushing zpack. My internist wants to always prescribe regular amoxicillan and it just doesn't work for me.

First off, I wish I had read the reviews prior to taking this drug. My Dr put me on this because I have nasal polyps and a deviated septum which he thinks is causing me to have a chronic sinus infection. Because of the severity of my sinusitis he wanted me on this for 2 weeks to start, up to 4 total. I am on day 5 of this and the first couple of days were OK. Skip ahead and I am now spending m...

my 9yr old is taking this medication, it's the chewable pills, i have to crush them in some water, cause their too hard to chew but i like augmentin, it helps my kids a-lot, i have to watch cause im allergic, have to wash my hand after administering, or i break out in hives and can't breathe, but it works great with my kids.

Made me very dizzy and weak, but worked for the purpose. I think it might have been to strong for me personally.

I took this medication as prescribed my doctor, by day there was no headache, no infection and no side effects other than a bit a diarhea but that is because I am hard headed and did not take it with food as told, diarhea went away very quickly too. Not sure why some many reviewers have so many negatives about this drug, I guess for me it works perfectly with no side effects.

It got rid of the sneezing and sinus pain within two days, however, I feel absolutely exhausted all the time. I'm about 10 days into a 14 day prescription and plan to finish it because last time I used it, I got a yeast infection and stopped use a few days before the end, and the sinus infection returned. I do not have stomach pain like others have reported, but feel dizzy, lightheaded, weak and feverish (with normal temp), and nauseated. Food and milk improves nausea but I'm still very tired. Missed work on 2nd day due to extreme headache. Will definitely ask for different type of antibiotic next time.Read More Read Less

I took the generic of this 2x/day for 10 days to cure a sinus infection that was brought on by seasonal allergies. I took it after a meal with a ton of water. By day 2, I had an external yeast infection on my genitalia from front to back. I managed this with OTC yeast infection inserts and creams. I also upped my typical daily probiotic to 2x/day, and ate yogurt once a day. I also had slight urinary incontinence when coughing or sneezing. I was glad to be off of this, but it did cure the sinus infection!Read More Read Less

This medicine should be given under close watch! I have psoriatic arthritis. A scratch can set off a most painful chain of events. I was scratched by a cat, and we all know how clean their nails are. Especially where they have full run of the house with a rabbit who happened to have diaria. I swelled up like a hot tomalli and itchy!! Red welts and hives all over my body. Then came this antibiotic. Talk about a double whammie. I even cut the dosage in half, but still break out in hives with-in 1/2 hour. Then I get to resume the raking of the skin. My insides on fire, confusion, stomach pain and the itchy welts are now turning into spotty bruises all over. NEVER AGAIN. FIND ALTERNATIVE.Read More Read Less

After the fourth day of taking this medication, I developed dry mouth, nausea & diarrhea. Also experiencing a tingling in my lips and a slight clammy cold-chill kind of feeling now and then. This antibiotic is awful.

I've only been on the augmentin for 3 days for an infection in my uterus... I won't know if it is effective until after my 10 day regimen. But I will say it has made me very light-headed, dizzy and fatigued.

After 1 day, my face got red and my cheeks were hot like I had a fever. My headaches are gone; but my voice is still horse and sore. I do not get a upset stomach, I take the pill with food. Too early to tell if this drug will work.

I had an allergic reaction to this drug. My mouth has burned and my tongue has swelled. I understand this can cause a yeast infection.

Dr prescribed this for me after my three year old was diagnosed with pnemonia, and I had sinus issues. After 7 days I still have sinus issues and some of the most severe stomach pain of my life, no change in bowel habits just pain, I also have extreme vaginal itching, again no yeast infection just itching, dr recomemned otc cream, I will ask for alternate medicine in the future

Received the prescription for ten days (twice a day) of 500Mg. for an infected cyst. Minor surgery performed and infection removed. Took meds for nine and one half days and felt the worst I have ever felt. Now I am jaundiced, have dark urine and tired all the time. Have had ultra-sound, cat scan and MRI and many blood tests. Am told my problems are the result of the anti-biotic. So beware. Will never take it again for any reason

I have been given this medicine twice. First time was given 10 days and stopped taking after 5 days due to uncontrolable itching. I thought I was having an allergic reaction to the meds but when you are sick you are just not sure what is causing it. So I had to go back to the doctor and get medicine for the itching, etc. Sinus infection came back 4 months later, mentioned to the doctor the reaction I got from this medicine but he prescribed it anyway. I figured OK, I'll see what happens. SAME thing, basically 4 days into the meds the itching started, headaches and VERY upset stomach. Had to stop the meds again because I couldn't handle the side effects. I'll be back at the doctor again today for the itching. I won't take this medicine again.Read More Read Less

I was in the hospital for two days with severe intestinal inflammation / possible diverticulitis and was switched to this antibiotic when released. Two days later it seems to be working better than the dual IV antibiotics I was given in the hospital. It does give me severe but manageable diarrhea which surprises me since I typically only get this side effect with tetracycline class drugs and not with the penicillin class. I always take it with food and have had no stomach problems so far even though I have a sensitive stomach. I would not hesitate to take this one again. The only drawback is that you must not stray too far from a toilet.Read More Read Less

I have never had to run to the toilet as often as I do. I'm loosing sleep having to get up to manage my rumbling stomach. Extreme head aches and sensitivity since taking this. I highly recommend telling your doctor to prescribe another product like I will today.

I took this medicine for an abcess I had in my gum area. It worked great, no more swelling or infection. I see lots of posts where people are getting nauseous when taking -- you MUST take it with food and WATER (not soda or juice). Otherwise, pills will have no effect. Only side effect I got was a little dizziness....not too bad tho.
