This is the best antibiotic out there for me. It clears my ear congestion up and sinus problems from my allergies better than anything else. I wish more doctors would prescribe this instead of pushing zpack. My internist wants to always prescribe regular amoxicillan and it just doesn't work for me.

First off, I wish I had read the reviews prior to taking this drug. My Dr put me on this because I have nasal polyps and a deviated septum which he thinks is causing me to have a chronic sinus infection. Because of the severity of my sinusitis he wanted me on this for 2 weeks to start, up to 4 total. I am on day 5 of this and the first couple of days were OK. Skip ahead and I am now spending m...

This medication works very well treating ear infections. My ear had stopped hurting after only taking it for 2 days. I took 2 tablets twice a day but only took if for 2 days due to the side effects that it caused. I had stomach cramps and diarrhea that wasnt mild. I have IBS so the medication made my IBS worse which made the diarrhea worse. I lost my appetite and felt blah all day and all i wanted to do was sleep. It made me feel worse than i already did. It gave me headaches and i kept having hot flashes and none of this started till i started taking this medication. I will not take this medication again. I am going to my doctor to get something else. The side effects are just too much for me. Read More Read Less

I had a sinus infection that cleared up after my 10 day of taking the medication. The only side effect I had was a bad taste in my mouth all the time. But it did the job well.

Absolute hell. Short of breath even when I lie still for hours, ankles hugely swollen, terrible pain in all joints, muscles and tendons, dramatic loss of vision, terrible nausea, feel as though am dying. The so-calñled ear infection (if it is an infection) is worse - my ears are swollen shut now and I can hardly hear a sound.

Given as lotion caused excessive mucus mimicing pneumonia. During coughing attacks some of lotion may have been aspirated. Required hospitialization and oxygen. Infusion of augment. caused tightness of throat making swallowing impossible.

I've taken it for three days and feel worse than I have ever felt in my life. Agony all over - joints, muscles, temdons - wierd headaches, sweats, burning skin, blurred vision, can hardly breathe, can only just walk. I hope the effects won't last too longh, but I have now read that they can last for months. this drug is hell and the ear infection has got much worse!

I was prescribed this drug after 2 of my wasp sting became infected. While this drug did clear up the infection I got a raging yeast infection, despite taking acidophilis, garlic, and eating yogurt twice or more a day. Then my doc had to prescribe another med for the yeast infection, which didn't work becaue I was still in the augmentin. I DO NOT recommend this drug. Stomach cramps, achiness, tired, feeling blah, there are much better options out there and I will never take this again.

My dentist prescribed this med for me because of a severe tooth infection I had. The left side of my face actually began to swell and I had pain to go along with it...Istarted taking the 875/125 MG generic and I gotta say, I saw experienced great results within 24 hours....i'm now on day 5 and have no pain or swelling whatsoever and have only experienced MINOR diahhrea as a side effect...Great Med for me.

I saw improvement of symptoms after 3rd dose. Side effects I experienced blurred vision, a gaging sensation in throat and by day 3 severe abdominal cramping that caused me to seek alternate treatment from my doctor.

This drug (the 875/125 dose) was prescribed for me for acute sinusitis with severe ear pain/pressure. I started to feel an effect on the 2nd day, and now (day 4) I can say I am definitely feeling better. I get dry mouth during the first hour after taking the drug, and ever since day 2 I have had pretty bad diarrhea, very watery, and a lot of gurgling in the belly, but thankfully no stomach pain. Will try to get rid of the diarrhea by eating more yoghurt/acidophilus. Overall, I'm happy with it.

within 15 minutes after taking this drug I fainted and came to with horrendous stabbing chest pains. My husband called 911 and the response was rapid and effective. After about 1/2 an hr. of treating me in my house with benadryl and steroids the team took me to the local hospital for further treatment. I had to stay there for 2 days while being treated more and having tests done. The diagnosis was acute allergic reaction to penicillin. I have taken penicillin many times with no problem. I am now under the care of an allergist to try and discover the cause of this drastic reaction. Meanwhile, no augmentin for me or any penicillin. This is a very strong antibiotic and works fine for many people. Some experience side effects, but this was a true allergic reaction which was life threatening. Just be prepared and have another adult around when you take it. Chances are you will tolerate it fine. Read More Read Less

It works but the nauseousness is terrible. You have to eat all day long to keep it at bay. Which is not good for the waist line.

I have had no side effects. My Dr. told me to take an acidopholous tablet every time I take an augmentin and I have had no problems.

I feel this medication prevented a serious infection however I am now toward the end of the prescription and I am so exhausted and weak. I'll be happy when the last dose is taken.
