I was on amoxil for a sinus infection when it came back I had nasty sore throats every night which were gone within 24 hours of beginning this medication. It does taste horrible but I found a suggestion on another site to coat the pill in honey which works great. I don't taste the bitterness at all. It is a little rough on my stomach if I take it with milk or yogurt it seems to stop me from having...
This medicaton in the form of a pill has the most horrible tasting coating on it that leaves a bitter taste long after and is very hard to swallow because of its size.

I had no problem with the taste as many have stated but by day (3) my face started to burn, mostly just one side and it felt like I had a bad sunburn. You know, when you skin feels all tight and crinkly. Very weird sensation and doctor had me stop the meds and switch to doxy. Pity really, as the drug really knocked down my sinus infection. oh well............

I must be weird or something as I don't notice the taste at all. Its a pill, drink water and down it goes. I had a severe sinus/ear infection thing going on, major pain, EXTREME pain and this worked in one day. Of course I need to stay on the drug for 10 days. works alot faster then amoxi and I can't take Levaquin (I'm allergic)

I was put of Ceftin due to an "upper respiratory infection." (Strep culture was negative.) I stopped medication after seven days because I was constantly nauseous despite taking it with food, and sore throat, coughing and headaches did not subside after being on meds for a week. (I figured why continue to suffers on Ceftin? My ailment must be viral...) I lost my voice four days later.... so I resumed use of Ceftin and developed hives within 24 hours.

My mom took this medicine when she had an abcess in her elbow that would not close. The first day she started taking it her calves and feet had bright red patches that almost looked like an acid burn...like a splash pattern. Mom's home nurse took pics and sent them to the infectious disease doc and they said it did not look like the "typical" rash that people get. The rash went away for a while and then came back and spread to her hands, feet, and arms. Again, the doctor said it was not from the Ceftin. Our primary care doc took one look and told her to go off of the Ceftin. She has been off of it for 2 months now and the sores she got from this medicine are just now starting to heal. She was on Ceftin for 20 days. Always remember to keep pushing with doctors when you know something is wrong even when they tell you that everything is fine. This stuff burned her skin up from the inside out. P.S. One thing that helped my Mom's skin recover was taking Zantac twice a day....the acid reducer also reduces the amount of antibiotic in your blood.:)Read More Read Less

I dont really mind the taste so much, of course I can barely taste anything considering I can't breath very well. I was prescribed this drug for Scarlet fever. I am afraid I am having early symptoms of dystonic reaction. I feel ready to crawl out of my skin and very panicky. My syptoms have started to clear up after 48 hrs of taking this drug, but now I am on my way to the ER for a benadryl shot. I wouldnt reccomend this drug.

I had a combo ear/sinus infection, and took this for ten days. Ladies, be sure to load up on probiotics while taking this, or you will get a nasty yeast infection. It also totally screwed up my digestive system; started with diarrhea, then upset stomach, then constipation. My last dose was two days ago, and my stomach is still upset. Not sure if I think the cure is worth the side effects.

This medicine worked like a charm. However there were side effects that were a little annoying but not serious. I experienced constipation and gas. The size of the pill was a little daunting,(i broke it in half) and the taste of it was awful, but as long as it worked I didn't care.

Fighting the effects of a nasty sinus infection for 6 weeks. After several trials my E.N.T. put me on Ceftin. In 3 days my hearing was fully restored and coughing stopped. A miracle drug.

My doctor prescribed this for a sinus infection. I had dizziness accompanying my sinus infection to begin with, and once I took this medication (500 mg 2x a day) my dizziness increased and worsened. I will not take this medication again.

Drug literally worked within 36 hours. Has a very very bad taste and teh pill is almost to big to swallow. Had a soft stool throughout, not bad though. Once I stopped though, my lower GI tract really went bad, loose stool, loss of hunger and had to c all my dr back. Still waiting to see if I contracted CDAD.

Prescribed for tonsillitis before I had my tonsils removed. Tastes awful! I could taste it all day. Stopped using it because of the taste. Tryed again a week later. I found that if I put it in the back of my throat and took it with a flavored drink (soda, juice, etc...not water!) and then quickly ate a few M&Ms the bad taste went away. I felt better the next day. It worked awesome!
