I had eye pain and blurring vision when I awoke in the morning. This was not the first time. My ophthalmologist recommended this medication and it resolved my problem. I was worried about temporal arthritis which I had years before…..or some other progressive disease. It was easy solution to a minor problem.

This can be purchased for $8 at Walmart as sodium chloride hypertonicity ophthalmic solution (which ever percent is prescribed)for MUCH less than bausch & lomb ($22). I was prescribed this for my dog's corneal ulceration to increase medication effectiveness.

I have Fuchs Dystrophy. The drops really burn and sting when I put them in. However, a few minutes later my eyes feel so much better and I can see colors as well as read words on the TV! This is a God send! But why is it so expensive?

Dr has me taking the drops 4 times per day and the ointment at night. The drops BURN my eyes for a couple mins, my eyes water and then it clears up. Seems to be working well to treat my corneal erosion.

Seems to work pretty well. I find the drops easier to use during the day. It doesn't work as long or as well, but easier to use. I use the ointment at night, it works better, but blurs the eye for anywhere from 20 minutes to an hour. It also helps to have someone able to put a 1/4 strip under the eye lid without wasting it. It is not cheap. The generic is sodium chloride 5%. I have used both Muro 128 and generic. No notiable difference to me. At Walgreens the generic is around $20 and Muro 128 is around $25 (Drops and ointment are about the same price) On Amazon I got three bottles/ tubes for around $25 with two day shipping. The generic is made in the USA, under the same quality and purity rules. Summer 2014 Muro 128 was pulled because metal filings were found in some of the ointment. (No issue with the generic) I guess a few places you will find both drops and ointment made over seas. I'm not sure I would try that. I also was told that it is also available in pet stores because there are a few conditions in dogs that warrant its use. I am not sure. This stuff is not cheap but a tube last me over two weeks and a bottle can last several weeks depending how much you waste and use it. However, with Fuchs' Corneal Dystrophy you have 2 choices, do as the Doc suggest or not and go blind. My doc caught it pretty early and outside blurred vision in the am and late afternoon burning (when I use the drops) I have pretty good vision still with no glasses. Read More Read Less

After Lasik surgery, I had extreme discomfort when I awoke and tried to open my eyes. The doctor diagnosed skin cells adhering to my cornea from the inner eyelid causing swelling. The Muro ointment was miraculous for me. I now wake with no discomfort and extremely clear vision each morning.

Used for 2 weeks. Seemed to start working. I had to stop due to the fact that it effected my breathing. Quit using for a week to see if my breathing got better. It did. Tried using it again and had trouble breathing again.

I have Fuch's Dystrophy in my L eye and this product has kept the condition from getting worse...in fact, my last field of vision test had slightly improved.
