I am currently up in the middle of the night with extreme stomach and back pain. I've thrown up and have been going to the bathroom for the past hour. Although this medicine is effective, I will definitely throw it out. The side effects are not worth it! I'd rather be constipated.

Took 3 Dolcolax tablets, horrible cramps for 2 days and still bleeding rectally. What a mistake taking these! I also have bad hand shaking still into the 2nd day, severe headache on 2nd day. Hope the bleeding stops soon.

I agree with the previous reviews, I will NEVER take Dulcolax again! This has been one of the most horrible experiences of my life! I took 2 tablets, and 10 hours later I was in excruciating pain. I was scared of dieing. I broke out in a cold sweat, almost fainted, lost my sight (saw red first), nauseated, lost my color, and the cramps were excruciating. It did work but at what cost.

My doctor told me that I was constipated and recommended that I try a stimulant laxative. So, I bought Dulcolax, took 3 tablets, and went home. Then, I made the mistake of reading these reviews. I was terrified! However, I didn't have a bad experience. It didn't even work. I took one dose in the middle of the night. I had some really mild cramping, some diarrhea, and my stomach felt uncomfortable for the whole next day. But, I did not have the insane pain, nausea, fainting, and vomiting that so many people complain of. I didn't even have a BM. So, my advice would be, take it if a doctor says you should, in the proper dosage and you'll be fine. Also, make sure you drink plenty of water, so you don't get dehydrated.Read More Read Less

If you want a complete and satisfactory experience do as I did: clear liquids for breackfast then two tablets of dulcolax and the rest of the day clear luquid diet.

I went to the store lastnight bought the pills and had a bowel movement the very next morning.It was great!

I WILL NEVER TAKE DULCOLAX AGAIN!! I agree with so many other comments. I took two because it said to take 1 to 3, so I'm thinking it most be a gentle laxative..BOY WAS I WRONG!!..I took it around 6:30pm..started hurting at around 12:15am..and it didn't let up.. I was in excrutiating pain.., nauseated, sweats chills, i guess it did the job for about 3.5 hours..then totally stopped.., no gas ..nothing..but the excruciating pain continued..for almost 24 hours..I was bed ridden..I felt like a had a really bad stomach virus..I felt awful! Also..like the others I wish I would have read these reviews before I took it.., but .it is now where it's suppose to be..IN THE TRASH!!..the pain and all the rest of the side effects.. is not worth it!!, I'll stick to a glass of prune juice..followed by a glass of water..from now on.Read More Read Less

I take 3 tablets a day, because I had stopped having bowel movements, and my Dr. told me to start taking them. At first no problems, them I started having bad stomach cramps. I started not eating anything 5 or 6 hrs, before I take them, and I have no problems. When I did have the cramps, I took 2 capfuls of Pepto Bismol, and they stopped in about 10 mins. I recommend not eating 5 hrs, before or after taking Dulcolax. It works for me.

I took 2 pills around 9:oopm and went to bed. At 2:00am i woke up with pain that felt like my insides were being tied in knots. I rushed to the bathroom where things started to move. I had a BM, vomited and had the shakes all at the same time. This all lasted about and hour. WORST EXPERINCE I HAVE EVER HAD!

I took this product to relieve the constipation I was having, it really did the job. As with the other reviewers it does give you bad cramps, however, mine went away as soon as I had my bowel movement. I guess it depends on your use for it, if you need it for surgery or a treatment then you have no choice and yes it works, but if you are using it for emptying your bowels it still works you will just have to deal with the cramping a short time.

First time took 3. Big NO NO! But it did the job. Went into work pretty late. Second time took only 1 and still did it's job. Had some cold sweats, but nothing I couldnt stand. Woke up both times at 1 a.m. Did have to turn around 2 times after starting to drive to work. Suggest doing it on a weekend. And don't pass gas until you know it's safe!! Have taken other meds and this one works like it says it does. No other side affects other than cold sweats and a little cramping.

I agree with other people with the worst side effects of this drug. I wish I had read the reviews before. I took the tablets twice to clear my digestive system. I couldn't tolerate the stomach ache, cold sweats. I threw the tablets away .

This has been one of the most horrible experiences of my life! I was required to take 4 5mg. tablets as part of a bowel cleansing for a colonoscopy. I had the worst cramps ever. I get the chills, broke out in goose bumps, and felt like I was going to faint. I was very nauseated for hours. I had no idea that this was going to make me feel like this or I never would have taken it. Believe me, there will not be a second time! I'm sure this medicine has its place in use, but not here.

I had severe cramps sweating and intense pain after taking this product for constipation after having surgery. Finally after 4 days I am not in constant pain. Worst experience than the surgery itself. I just tossed the bottle in the trash. I will never take dulcolax ever again. I wished I would have read these reviews before taking this product.

I have taken this medication in the past and it was effective and fast acting, however, my experience with the most recent use has been horrible. Although it produced several bowel movements in a short period of time, at one point I experienced severe intestinal cramping, pouring cold sweats,and weakness. It has been three days since taking the Dulcolax and I am still having intestinal cramping, a feeling that I still need to evacuate, and gas that I cannot expel. Ive had problems going eveeryday to the bathrooom...so my doctor prescribe this.It gives me cramps..and im sweating.

I took the medication at 4:00 P.M. and around 7:00 P.M. was doubled over with cramps. I woke up at 10:00 P.M. to have a BM. then continued every 3 hours. I didn't like the cramping and the next day feeling dizzy, but it did the job.

Had no problems.

What is the mg per tablet

I took 3 tablets 8 hours ago (at 7 pm - is now 3 am)- have still not had a bm but woke up to agonizing stomach pain, cold sweats and horrible nausea which i've only controlled by running cold water over my wrists. I'm in hell. Even if it cleans me out it is SO not worth it. This is miserable. This is the first time I've used a stimulant laxative - only took it b/c I haven't had a BM in 5 days.
