This product is effective. Take only one at a time (i took two once and was crying in pain). You should also plan to take it only when you can afford to have some quality bathroom time. You may need a few trips to the bathroom as it works through your system. Don't take it the day that you have something really imortant to do. I took it at 9 p.m. and it worked its way through at about 10 a.m. ...
I had received free samples of Dulcolax laxative tablets and took one two nights ago around 10PM. I woke up in the morning with moderate cramping, and while on my commute was feeling uncomfortable. I had jury duty that morning and as soon as the case began, I started feeling incredibly nauseous and hot, as well as crampy, and hobbled embarrassingly to the bathroom. There I stayed for 30 minutes hu...

I took this medication in the early morning of a flight I had later on in the afternoon. WORST MISTAKE OF MY LIFE! I hadn’t opened bowels for 5 days and in the que for baggage collection I started experiencing the worst cramping of my life in my lower abdomen. Tried going to the toilet. nothing happened. This pain continued for the next 5 hrs. The feeling of stabbing in the lower abdomen and then needing to go but nothing happening. Finally about 12 hrs after taking and after the plane landed I managed to open bowels with great relief. Word of advice never take this medication when you have something important to do that day. Also i’d probably recommend take something different as it’s not worth the pain. Read More Read Less

I will NEVER EVER use this product again.I wish I would have read all the reviews before I had taken these pills. I have never been in so much pain for 5 days. I am still in pain but if I drink plenty of water like 3 glasses the pain eases. So I am going to continue to do so.
I never had any constipation issue. I decided to take one to flush the MSG food that I ate the day before.

Took 1 pill at 11pm; nothing happened for 24 hours, so I took another. Next morning (8am) awoke with cramps that have so far lasted almost 12 hours as well as vomiting. Will never take this again.

I was instructed to take this medication by my gynae prior to a procedure and advised to take 2 x tablets at 11pm the night prior to an 8am appointment. After reading all the reviews I was TERRIFIED about what to expect and really stressed about the whole procedure. Ive never taken laxiatives before and dont suffer from constipation. As quite a few reviews mentioned taking the minimum dose I decided to take just 1 tablet at about 9.30pm (in the hope it would be enough and start to work a bit earlier so reducing the chances of an accident on the way to clinic!). I had eaten a meal around 8.30pm so didnt take on an empty stomach and also drank about 1 litre of water at the same time.
I went to bed as normal and woke up around 3.30am to moderate stomach cramps. These were uncomfortable but manageable. I didnt have any nausea or other symptoms. After about 20 mins I passed a large BM which was soft but not loose. I didnt have any urgency. The cramps lessened and then stopped and I went back to bed. I woke at 6am (no cramps) and then passed another soft BM around 7am. Again, no urgency and no other symptoms.
I was nil by mouth in the morning so didn't eat anything substantial again until around 1pm. Around 3pm I had very mild cramping but no other symptoms and no BM. The following day I had a normal BM.
Sorry this is long but wanted to share to reassure people that not everyone has a horrendous experience (although these experiences are just as valid), and it worked as expected for me. For reference, I'm 1.7m tall and 62kg female.

I never get constipated. After a week without going, I went to the store where the pharmacist recommended dulcolax. I followed the instructions and took two before bed. I woke up the next morning and still couldn't go. I got ready for work and left home still unable to go. Halfway to work, my stomach shifted and I knew the medicine was working. Uh oh. I got to work, put down my bag and walked quickly to the bathroom. I had explosive diarrhea. I went to the bathroom 5 times before lunch. On top of all that, I stained my white briefs after a particularly violent episode of diarrhea.Read More Read Less

Honestly if your thinking of taking it. Don’t. The worst pain of my life I passed out on the toilet due to how much pain I was in. It’s honestly not worth it, it gets rid of everything inside you but this has been the worst pain of my life

I am a healthy person with no medical problems but I had a brief episode of constipation associated with bloating. Took 2 tablets of Dulcolax on an empty stomach at 10pm and went to bed at 11pm. Awoken by cramps at 330am and had a formed bowel movement followed by a liquid bowel movement a few minutes later. Went back to bed and was awoken an hour later with more cramps. This time I had 2 liquid bowel movements, one after the other. I have no complaints or concerns with how, or when the product worked. It is a laxative and I anticipated possible unpredictability. I felt great after this! Went back to bed and slept the rest of the night. The product worked as anticipated! I will use again, should I need to.Read More Read Less

I took two of these tablets at around 12am and they worked at around 1pm the next day (my metabolism is fairly slow). I tried taking just one the day before but to no effect, I would recommend taking two. I've seen a lot of people saying how painful their experience was with horrible stomach aches and cramps but I personally had a very small stomach ache when I woke up and only experienced a fairly strong stomach ache just before needing to go. Almost like a bad period cramp for 5 or so minutes and although it was quite uncomfortable, it wasn't nearly as awful as I thought it would be and I'd much rather have a stomach ache for a few minutes than no warning at all. Although, when you need to go you need to go. I wouldn't suggest going out after taking these unless you have a toilet near by.
These are my go to for constipation relief. They're effective and easy and pleasant to use (as far as laxatives go). Read More Read Less

Took 2 dulcolax (10mg) @1800. Started having cramps 4 hours later and opened my bowels twice in the next hour. The cramps eased and I went to sleep, woke up feeling normal the next day.

Please be aware that these tablets are very powerful! They really do work but I didn't have a pleasant experience. I took 1 before bedtime, approx 11pm, and was awake at 5.30am having a soft stool motion, but shortly after had to return having bouts of diarrhoea and feeling nauseous. Luckily I had a day off work that day. I was fine after getting a few hours sleep but I think I would try the junior version next time.

Directions state to take 1-3 pills I took 2 and on a pretty empty stomach. Several hours later, extremely painful cramps and severe nausea. Almost vomited. This went on for a couple of hours. Then it hit me. Things were moving. Gushing, in fact. I had stomach cramps all night and into the next day. No sleep.

Never ever ever EVER again. DO NOT TAKE THIS. I wanted to die. I took the suggested dose and within three hours, I felt extremely nauseous, freezing, shivering, stomach pains worse than labor, I was horribly pale and just so so sick. It took 10 hours to begin to even remotely resemble my usual self. Never again. This stuff is poison of the worst kind.

Okay so beware do NOT over use this product, one pill is PLENTY. Its incredibly effective but that definitely came with some intense pain. if youre planning on taking take on a day where you'll have a lot of time to be in the bathroom and take in earlier hours so you aren't awake all night.

When I tell you I was in excruciating pain. I felt like I was going to pass out. The cramping was so intense I have never in my life felt anything like that. I was constipated and needed relief so I took these pills. It was a work day and I embarrassingly spent most of the day on the toilet. I was sweaty and shaking from the pain. Truly horrible.

After taking one pill I had the brilliant idea of searching for reviews online and let me tell you, I got terrified. Like I stressed so much over those horrifying experiences that I thought I have made a big mistake. But what I also noticed is that most people with bad experiences take more than one pill at a time. STOP doing that. One pill is enough! Also, drink LOTS of liquids, water, tea, you can put in some lemon. The liquids will help in case of cramping, even more so if it's warm, the lemon will help with nausea in case there is any. Don't eat before or after taking it for at least one-two hours. I believe that was also an important advice I received. Also, eat foods that are good in times of diarrhea, like soups, baked or boiled foods.
I felt constipated and insanely bloated in the last couple of days so I thought of taking a laxative for the first time. Keep in mind that I'm also pretty skinny, I weight around 100 lbs and I had digestive issues for a while now. However, my experience was really ok. I had a bit of cramping, nothing bad, and no nausea or weakness sensations. I took one pill at 10 a.m. (note that I work from home, if you don't, either take a day off or take it at night before bed so you won't be uncomfortable going to the toilet whenever you feel the need to), I ate at around 12 p.m. and around 1 p.m. it already started to work. I had two soft BM at 1 and 2 p.m. and another one during the evening. Nothing out of the ordinary. No need to rush to the toilet like in a life or death situation, but definitely don't keep it in if you feel it's time. It did exactly what I wanted it to do. Now, a day later, my BM are not soft anymore, they are as usual and I feel ok. It kind of stopped taking effect after less than 10 hours I would say.
Needless to say, you can also try something that is known to be more gentle in case you are worried. Take care of your body and take the smallest dose possible at first.Read More Read Less

I’m writing this just after a 20 minute diarrhoea session at 3am due to immense, excruciating stomach pain after taking two pills a couple of hours ago. I am unbelievably uncomfortable and feel as if vomit could come hurling out at any given moment. Also can’t forget that sweaty, shivering and just generally going to die feeling. However, if you are blocked up and need a quick relief, these pills of hell will be sure to help you out wonderfully as they are definitely good at doing that.
