This product is effective. Take only one at a time (i took two once and was crying in pain). You should also plan to take it only when you can afford to have some quality bathroom time. You may need a few trips to the bathroom as it works through your system. Don't take it the day that you have something really imortant to do. I took it at 9 p.m. and it worked its way through at about 10 a.m. ...

I had received free samples of Dulcolax laxative tablets and took one two nights ago around 10PM. I woke up in the morning with moderate cramping, and while on my commute was feeling uncomfortable. I had jury duty that morning and as soon as the case began, I started feeling incredibly nauseous and hot, as well as crampy, and hobbled embarrassingly to the bathroom. There I stayed for 30 minutes hu...

Loved the product BUT mad at manufacturers lack of disclosure on sugar and sucroses contained on the product. Using it for the last 10 months once a day at bedtime as advised by doctor and it solved many years of constipation. Just found out, it has and enormous content of sugar and sucroses and it has being racing my sugar levels at night to over 320. This is NOT disclosed on the packaging nor listed as a warning or contraindication for diabetics.

I have traveled from US to Africa for a mission. Took this because of travelers constipation. I have never felt so sick in my life. Took at 5 pm by 8 pm it all started. Diarrhea all night long. I could be ok with that but the stomach cramps and severe nausea which lead to some vomiting is awful. So weak and dizzy It’s been almost 12 hours now and stools have all but stopped but not the cramps or nausea. Even drinking water hurts. I so pray this gets better soon

All of these reviews made the experience seem terrifying. I took 2 to relieve constipation of 5 days. It certainly began to work after 3-4 hours. There was some cramping but nothing major. It’s important to remember everyone’s body is different and will therefore react differently to medications. Overall, it was effective for me and relatively comfortable.

I take 2-3 (do not recommend) at night, usually I wake up with discomfort and nausea but usually it is thorough in emptying my stomach. However, usually the pain and discomfort makes me wonder why I took them in the first place. Make sure you drink a lot of water because you will feel dehydrated and only take this medication if absolutely necessary!

I took a pill at ten pm and went to bed. Around four am I awoke in severe pain. I got to the bathroom but there was no movement just extreme nausea. I started to shiver and went back to bed where I endured the contractions for several hours but apart from odd hard marbles nothing much came out. I vomited a couple of times. I was very dizzy. I considered calling an ambulance but it seemed extreme to call one just for constipation. I took paracetamol and continued to endure cramps until I fell asleep. I awoke at eleven am and experienced some diarrhea, and a small hard bowel movement. Two days later I am still constipated. I threw the pills on the fire. They are very dangerous and should be withdrawn from over the counter sale.Read More Read Less

i’ve taken dulcolax countless times without any trouble. no pain no discomfort nothing. this time i was woken up two hours after taking it and spent an hour on the toilet bloated beyond belief, it was literally visible. i was moaning and groaning in pain, it sounded like i was having sex. the cramping was some of the worst physical pain i’ve ever had in my life. i thought at first it was just gas so when i started passing gas at first i had a few moments of relief only to explode with diarrhea. every time the pain calmed down and i thought it was almost over, it started up again. all of it, the bloating, cramps, pain, sweat. my abdomen couldn’t stop flexing and i couldn’t sit up straight. this went on for over an hour. i was finally able to get back in bed but i’m still in pain, i know this isn’t over. I don’t know what was different this time but i am never ever using this product again. so not worth the pain. Read More Read Less

I took it at around 3:30. Maybe a little before I started having bowel movements around 7. Maybe I did cramp not as bad as some people but I did that on. I can't remember what day, but I'm still having diarrhea. And the pain is bearable but if you can't tolerate pain, I would not do this.

I was constipated for 4 days and decided that its time to get some laxatives. I took these laxatives and they eased my stomach pain for a few hours. At11-6pm I was experiencing no pain whatsoever which was a relief. at 8pm on the same day I started having these severe sharp pains and couldnt sleep throughout the whole night. The pains were awful to the point where I was crying my eyes out but safe to say these are worth the pain. I wake up at 8am the next day only having 1 hour of sleep and I feel nauseous and I try to poo but nothing comes out. At around 10am it worked. Id reccomend these tablets but at your own risk they do cause intense stomach pain and sharp pains . Read More Read Less

If you value your life and sanctity of your bowels, I would NOT recommend this. I’m officially on day 2 and liquid acid is still spewing out of me after every meal. I have no idea what a “soft” laxative entails anymore after my entrails have been subjected to the opposite of soft; rough sandpaper squeezing through my intestines and out my now burning anus. To start, I took ONE pill at 9pm about two days ago to try before I go in for my colonoscopy. It’s not for another few weeks but the directions were asking for 4 pills of Dulcolax. I hadn’t used this laxative in the past (surprisingly considering my bowel problems) and wanted to test it out prior to my surgery. I took ONE, I repeat, ONE pill at 9pm and went to bed. I wake up at 4:30am in a sweat, I feel like I’m the Virgin Mary & I unknowingly am birthing a baby Jesus. Contraction after contraction, I ease myself into my bathroom until I finally release a regular bowel movement. I think, “Painful but I’m glad it’s over. Not too bad.” Oh boy, was I wrong. For the next three hours, my home was my toilet bowl. The nausea was icing on the cake. I finally was completely juiced out, drained beyond every measure, and went back to bed. Had to call out of work and ate nothing but soup and bread due to nauseousness. Today, felt okay. Not great but I thought I was moving on with my life. Went to work then decided to go out to eat with my roommates for my birthday. Had a good time until halfway through my meal, I was getting a bit of pain. Was almost ready to go, just had to pay but I couldn’t take it anymore. Sorry to the Texas Roadhouse near the Denny’s because I just blew that bathroom up. Never have I ever blasted a bathroom that fast or badly in public. It was astonishing at that point, not even embarrassing. I exited within 5 min. and we left. I’m now typing this from the toilet in my own bathroom and I just gotta say, if you value anything about yourself — your dignity, your bodily autonomy, etc — DO NOT GET DULCOLAX. Read More Read Less

Christ! Why is this an OTC medication!? I had some constipation, bloating and light cramping from travelling. Took two about 10pm and woke up at 6am in extreme pain from cramping. Got up to go to the bathroom and nothing happened. Tried to go back to sleep but the pain was so bad I was audibly groaning in pain. Was getting concerned I should call a doctor and felt like my body was trying to give birth to a pile of barbwire. 2 hours later I had a very solid bowel movement and hoped that was the end of the experience. It's 7.5 hours since I first woke up in pain and I've had several loose bowel movements and the pain is still so bad, I had to stop working and retreat to the sofa. Thankfully I work from home, I never would have made it to an office today! I can't believe this medication is over the counter and that the box should ever advise taking more than 1! This experience was so much worse than my original symptoms.Read More Read Less

I wish so much I'd read the reviews first. If I had I wouldn't have taken it. Pure evil tummy cramps and pain reminded me of early labour. Pouring with sweat and faint and dizzy. Yes I did go toilet. No it wasn't worth it. Don't use a stimulant laxative is my new mantra. I'd rather wait 3 days for laxido to work!!!! I'm surprised they sell this over the counter. I would NEVER give any to my kids. Going straight in the bin

First off if you haven't gone for two weeks call a doctor do not take more than 2 pills at once try 1 first then 24 hrs try 2. This is designed to lube your intestines so you poo moves along. It's not designed to clean you out.using more than recommended will give your cramping read the damn label. Honestly if 2 pills don't work you need too manage what you eat.then call a doctor. Eating pizza everyday is just crazy. Self control is needed

The worst experience of my life. DONT DO THIS! So I've been constipated for a while due to stress, I couldn't find my usual meds so I took 1 of these. I woke up at 5 am the next morning with the cramps you expect and went to the loo and before i knew it my entire body was pulsing and drenched in sweat. I passed out. When I came too my partner was handing me water and paracetamol, I must have passed out again because when I came to the meds and water were on the floor. After voiding my bowels, I tried to sleep, but every time I laid down severe pain penetrated my abdomen. After that every time I tried to go all I passed was blood. I went to the local drop in on the advice of 111, after an examination they sent me to A&E. I then spent the next 4 hours on a gurney curled up in intense pain and agony. They took blood tests (which I've a massive phobia of) which thankfully came back normal. They sent me home with orders for a follow up with the GP. The bleeding eventually stopped at 6am Wednesday, unfortunately I'd only gotten 2 to 3 hours of sleep that night due to the pain. It's now Thursday and I'm still in pain and still struggling to eat or even want to eat. I honestly think this medicine is dangerous.Read More Read Less

Works brilliantly well, i thought i needed a real food clean out so i took 2 before bed at 10pm, i woke up at 4am with a real sore tummy and spent the next 10 minutes doing my business. Went back to bed but awoke again at 6am with a real sore tummy again and this is when i really cleaned out my bowels big time ,had god awfull diarrhea for around 30 minutes like as thin as water. I felt like a new man after it was over! whistling a tune all day at work. Highley recommended but take only one of them tiny pills. Read More Read Less

I had the worst experience using dulcolax. The instructions say take 1 to 3 tablets. I took 2. I was nauseated which turned into vomiting several times. Oh yes it worked but the price I paid was not worth it. I am still in bed knowing if I start walking around I will vomit again.

Dulcolax allows me to go within 5 hours of ingestion however the side effects are intense. even though a movement is not produced for hours the cramps are almost instant, as are the chills. After relieving myself these side effects do not go away- they linger. If you feel any pain *while* going I recommend taking flax seed oil capsules alongside the dulcolax. I do not use Dulcolax anymore and if you have dealt with the same issues I wrote above you should give these a go: Colace, Senna, and flax seed oil.Read More Read Less

I would genuinely never take this again even if you paid me. Everyone’s bodies are different, so for some people, it works pretty fine, but for me, it was a nightmarish experience. I took some around 11pm last night before bed, because I know they work fine for my mom. I was fine until around 4am, when I woke up to a moderately bad stomach cramp and I figured that it was starting to kick in, so I headed to the bathroom. And then the pain began. I began having very intense stomach cramps and I am serious when I say that was the most pain I have ever been in my life. It was so bad, that I briefly was scared I had appendicitis or something serious and considered calling an ambulance. In addition to the stomach cramps, I also was sweating profusely and vomiting every 20 or so minutes. I sat on the toilet for more than an hour before I was able to actually use the bathroom and I had the worst diarrhea I’ve had in years. That finally helped relieve some of the stomach cramps and I finally stopped vomiting, but I ended up sitting on the bathroom floor for 20 minutes because I was scared of throwing up again. It wasn’t until past 6am that I felt ok enough to go back to bed for a few hours. It is now 11am, so around 12 hours after I took the medicine and while I feel better than before, I still do not feel super great. Like I said before, everyone’s bodies are different and some people may be perfectly fine, but I would never take it again after today. It helped with the constipation, but at the cost of having a very bad experience.Read More Read Less
