This product is effective. Take only one at a time (i took two once and was crying in pain). You should also plan to take it only when you can afford to have some quality bathroom time. You may need a few trips to the bathroom as it works through your system. Don't take it the day that you have something really imortant to do. I took it at 9 p.m. and it worked its way through at about 10 a.m. ...
I had received free samples of Dulcolax laxative tablets and took one two nights ago around 10PM. I woke up in the morning with moderate cramping, and while on my commute was feeling uncomfortable. I had jury duty that morning and as soon as the case began, I started feeling incredibly nauseous and hot, as well as crampy, and hobbled embarrassingly to the bathroom. There I stayed for 30 minutes hu...

I took three pills before bed on Thursday. I woke up and I thought it wasn't working. While I was in the shower, I suddenly had to go without much warning at all. I jumped out of the shower, hurried to the toilet, and let it all out. While I was getting ready for work, my stomach felt terrible. I threw up at least three times. I thought it was over and went to work. About 45 minutes after I got to work, I had the worst diarrhea I've ever had. This time it was entirely liquid. Over the course of my day at work, I may have used the bathroom 10 times. Each time less severe than the last, but slightly embarrassing just the same. It is 24 hours later and while I'm not forced to go every hour, I'm still having diarrhea. I never thought I would have diarrhea this bad. Even though I've been dealing with diarrhea for the last day, it just feels good to be cleaned out.Read More Read Less

I've never taken a laxative before. I'd tried Dulcolax stool softener for 2 days with no real results. Then tried the laxative tablets. Took three tablets at about 6pm. Some mild cramping began at about 8. Woke up at 1:30am and had a normal bowel movement, and then experienced loose movements about every hour until around 8am. I wouldn't recommend this product if you've got activities planned for the next 18 hours, as you'll need to be near a toilet...BUT, it got the job done and I feel much better. Stay hydrated, it helps!Read More Read Less

i had not had bowel movement in about 5 days. it was very painful and I decided to try dulcolax. be aware of the side effects. yes, it is painful. the cramps hurt and there is sweating and nausea. at least for me there was. it took a good 12 hours to actually get me to produce bowel movement. around the 8th hour was when I started to feel cramping. it gets the job done. I would reccommend it if you are in pain like I was

Being a college kid, I tend to eat very quickly, which causes some constipation at one point about a year and a half ago. I took the regular ducolax (1pill) and went to bed. Woke up around 3 in the morning, went to the bathroom, was there for maybe 25 minutes and was perfect. Lately my hemhhoroids have been acting up, and I found the women's version of this medicine. I took 2 about a week and a half ago and it pretty much cleaned out my system, which I was grateful for because if gave my backside time to heal. But yesterday I took 1 pill and nothing happened. Not a single thing. This might not be the case for some people, but I feel like if you're going to take it to get the job done, take ENOUGH to get the job done right then. Because another day in this situation can be horrible. One pill just makes you, and your bowels, mad. But two can get things moving. Or you can just take the regular kind instead of the women's and make things so much simpler. I don't know why they make things so complicated for us women. Read More Read Less

I wotkout and drink alot of protein shakes that back me up sometimes... For the past few days I was so backed up I felt full all the time and could barley eat. The dr recommended ducolax it worked but made me cramp and hurt sooo excruciatingly I will never take it again. I have had kidney stones twice, and the pain ducolax produced was just as bad. The cramps were so severe they made me puke..I did however use the bathroom with watery bowels... Wouldn't recommend this product.

I have had a lifelong history of constipation..........I had a colonosocpy on Friday morning. It went well..However, I did not have a bowel movement for two days so I took the laxative(3pills.) Sunday midnight before bed. I woke up with total relief. No stomach pains or any other side effects. I love this medication. I will use it again when needed.

I recently had a surgery that I considered to be the most painful thing of my life. I'm on medications that back me up and needed to use a stool softener. I used dulcolax and how my body felt was actually more painful than pain from my surgery!! I took them at dinner time and by 4am I had to jump out of bed and rush to the bathroom. I had the most intense stomach pains and I felt terrible for three days. I don't want to use a laxative that makes me feel worse than how I was feeling before, I will not be using this product ever again. I'm considering something with less side effects and no stomach pain like miralax. I never want my stomach to feel that way again!! Read More Read Less

I've got a pretty bad hemorrhoid that was affecting my BM's, so I needed something to help with the constipation, and to help soften the stool. I took this medication knowing what it was going to do, and I must say it worked just as I expected. What I don't understand is all the negative reviews on this site. People have noted taking 2-5 pills the first time?? If you don't know how you're going to react to a new DRUG, perhaps you should only take one to see what how it affects you. Also, it seems like most users on here have no idea how it works. A quick google search would tell you that this Durcolax is a Oral/Rectal Stimulant, which works by "triggering rhythmic contractions of intestinal muscles to eliminate stool". It is not an osmotic, bulk former or stool softener. Stomach cramps are EXPECTED from using this product, that's how you know it's working. Another thing that baffles my mind is how people complaining of it coming on unexpectedly. When you feel the cramps, you know it's time to go! Don't take this and go shopping, that's just a horrible idea... In conclusion this product worked great for me and I'm glad I took it. I'm no longer constipated and the "cramps" weren't bad at all since I only took one pill rather than exceeding the dosage. Read More Read Less

Worst stomach pain I have ever exprienced. I have taken plant laxatives in the past for occasional constipation and know to expect slight cramping/discomfort and potentially runny stools. The pain of ducolax was like nothing I've experienced before. Took at 3pm and between 9pm and 2am experienced excruciatingly painful cramps and diarrhea. Will never take again.

I took the recommended dose before bed expecting results the next morning. The next morning I had no relief. By noon I was really getting constipated so I took a much larger dose. The box says to expect results in 6 to 12 hours. Based on that, I thought it would be ok to go shopping since it shouldn't have started working until dinner time at least. That was a big mistake. After only 3 hours I started to sweat, have terrible cramps and then the need to go immediately. Fortunately the store I was in had a public restroom. I just barely made it there and for the next 20 minutes had awful cramps and diarrhea. Since this gives me bad cramps and is also unpredictable I'll never use it again. Read More Read Less

On my doctors advice, I took 2 tablets of Dulcolax at 8:00 pm last night. Woke up at 1:30 with cramps and severe abdominal pain. I passed out in the washroom. My husnband called EMS. My heart rate was 44 per minute and my breathing was 60 p/m. I ended up in the emergency ward and recovered in about 7 hours. DO NOT TAKE THIS DRUG.

I am 15 years old, I was not satisfied with the way I was feeling yesterday so, I decided to take this medicine.I took three of the small devils and was fine for the first two hours, around 1a.m I started to get really bad cramps, HORRIBLE. This lead to shaking, cold sweats and nausea. I decided to just see what happens in the morning around 4 am, it is now 9am and I can't go to school because , of a pounding headache and cramping.

My boyfriend and I decided to take the pills because of not having BM for about 2 days! He took 3 pills and I took 2 pills at around 6pm! At around 10pm I get this intense cramp and feeling of nausea, ran to the bathroom and did produce a BM but I was in so much pain and felt like I was literally going to past out on the bathroom floor! Worst feeling I ever been through! I went back to sleep and woke up at 12amwith another pain and went right back to the bathroom and produced another long BM and felt really sick, hot, I was sweating and ended up throwing up, after I threw up it felt much better and I went back to bed! At 1:30am I was up again with all the symptoms again! I used the bathroom, felt like I had to throw up but I couldn't just kept gagging and my throat was really dry ! After spending atleast 10-15 mins in te bathroom I went back to bed and woke up at 8:30am feeling better but my stomach is still feeling weak ! My boyfriend had a few side effects but they weren't as intense and frequent as mines ! I don think I will ever take this brand again and this was my first time taking a laxative! Worst feeling in the world! Read More Read Less

Well. After 11 hours, the pills finally worked. I've been throwing up and having diarrhea for the last hour. At least my stomach doesn't hurt quite as bad anymore. I just wonder when I'll stop having diarrhea.

I took two pills around 7:30 last night and woke up an hour or two ago with terrible stomach cramps. I still haven't been able to go. I hope something happens soon. Maybe my stomach will start to feel better.
