This product is effective. Take only one at a time (i took two once and was crying in pain). You should also plan to take it only when you can afford to have some quality bathroom time. You may need a few trips to the bathroom as it works through your system. Don't take it the day that you have something really imortant to do. I took it at 9 p.m. and it worked its way through at about 10 a.m. ...
I had received free samples of Dulcolax laxative tablets and took one two nights ago around 10PM. I woke up in the morning with moderate cramping, and while on my commute was feeling uncomfortable. I had jury duty that morning and as soon as the case began, I started feeling incredibly nauseous and hot, as well as crampy, and hobbled embarrassingly to the bathroom. There I stayed for 30 minutes hu...

DO NOT TAKE THIS! I took Dulcolax and after about 7 hours I was experiencing the worst cramping of my life. I also got the sweats and nausea. The pain was so horrific I passed out on the toilet and woke up on the floor on my face and bruised my cheek badly. A week later my cheek is still swollen and the whole side of my face is black and blue. Where are the side affect warnings on the packaging? This seems to be a common problem with this drug.

Had a terrible experience with Dulcolax. I feel I should preface this review by saying that I have IBS and weak intestines. I was constipated for three days, so I took one Dulcolax tablet at Noon on a Sunday (in Aug. 2012). At 11pm that night I was doubled over with the worst intestinal cramping, diarrhea and nausea. The pain was almost unbearable. Those symptoms lasted for about five hours. For the next week my entire digestive system was completely wonky: Stomach pains, cramps and gas. It was definitely "effective" in producing bowel movements, but it was a nightmare experience. If you're feeling constipated, I recommend Citrucel or maybe Miralax. Read More Read Less

This was the WORST experience. It worked but I was in so much pain I was screaming. I would rather deal with the problem. I will NEVER take this medication again! Be careful taking this drug!

Took 3 pills before bed since I hadn't had a bowel movement in 4 days and I've never been constipated before. Woke up at 5:30 with horrible stomach cramps. Ended up on the toilet for over an hour with the worst diarrhea of my life. I started cold sweating and had to remove my clothes and wrap towels around my body to soak up the sweat. After that I thought the worst was over, but I couldn't have been more wrong. The next time I was in the bathroom the vomiting started so I was pooping in the toilet and throwing up in the bathtub. I couldn't keep ANYTHING down for the next 18 hours and was running a temp of 94 since I was cold sweating all day(went through 5 changes of pjs). It's about a week later and I still feel like I'm dehydrated. I will never take this again.Read More Read Less

I have been constipated for about 2-3 weeks, so I decided to try Dulcolax since my mom had some pills left over from her colonoscopy. I only took 1 pill (the dosage says take 3) thinking that it would just soften my stools up and make it easier to have a bowel movement. I took the pill around 9:00PM. About 5:00AM this morning I woke up with mild stomach cramps and figured the medicine was working. I was able to go to the bathroom once and then it turned into diarrhea. The stomach cramps then became nearly unbearable. I have never felt so much pain in my life! I got very hot and sweaty and nearly passed out. The pain was so excruciating that it made me vomit. I will NEVER take this medicine again! And now it is 12:00AM and I am constipated again. I do not recommend taking Dulcolax for constipation!Read More Read Less

The worst thing I have ever experienced. It gave me severe pain, severe sweating, severe weakness, vomiting and a pale as a ghost look to my face. I would never ever recommend this to anyone.

Background information! I am a 21 year old female that is relatively healthy, with no chronic illnesses or serious health problems. I am 5'5" and 110 lbs. My diet consists of pasta, cheese, red meat, diet coke, and water. I rarely stray far from that. I have always made a BM every 3-4 days with no abdominal distress. I guess that is a little strange, but that's how it has always been for me.I take a daily vitamin and birth control. Recently I had a sinus infection and was put on the antibiotic Amoxicillian, which had the side effect of constipation. I did not think much of it since my BMs are fairly spaced apart already, but a week after I had ended the 10 day cycle of medicine, I realized the only BM I had made during that time was forced and incomplete. ONTO THE DRUG EXPERIENCE I still could not eat, although I was off my antibiotics, and I realized it was probably due to constipation. I attempted to use a Fleet suppository, but to no avail. I ate a hamburger and fries at 2pm, and because it contained cheese, I waited until 5:30pm to take the laxative. I laid in bed literally the entire time, but stayed awake. I ate ANOTHER cheeseburger at 7:30pm. At 9pm, I began to get very gassy, and mild cramps began to around 9:30pm. Shortly after the cramps began, my stomach began to gurgle a little and so I made my way to the restroom. During the short walk to the restroom, the pain grew, as if I really needed to pass gas. The pain became very intense, but as soon as I began to relieve myself, the intense pain went away. In this time, I did have a couple of small cramps, but nothing more than holding in a fart in a crowded room. The first session of relief was partially solid, but very loose. I stayed in the restroom because I knew more was to come. The rest of the movements were liquid. The ordeal was over by 10:45. TL;DR I experienced mild cramps for a short period of time and one moment of intense pain and sweating that quickly went away. I had zero nausea. Read More Read Less

OK- I am writing this review for all of you that JUST downed two Dulcolax and then decided to read all these crazy reviews AFTER taking the drug. DO.NOT.PANIC.!! Last night at 1030pm I decided to take 2 dulcolax because I was constipated. (I have never taken it before). After taking the 2 pills, I came online to read about it and began freaking out from all these reviews saying it is the worse pain EVER... Basically I took the 2 pills at 1030pm, slept through the night just fine, and had my first (large and not so solid) bowel movement at 945 am and thats it. Feel great, feel relieved! Within 4 hours, I too was having the worst cramps of my entire life, nearly passed out, and was on and off the toilet every 15 to 20 minutes. This was the worst experience I have ever been through, as well as the most pain which says something, because I have severe endometriosis which is rather go through any day compared to how I've felt from the laxative. Now, 14 hours after taking the pills, I am layed up on the Foch unable to go to work. I will NEVER EVER take them again. I'd much rather be constipated. Read More Read Less

I am kidney dialysis patient who also suffer from high blood pressure. So, I have to take certain BP meds, which unfortunately can causes constipation. For 3 days, my bowel movements started to become less frequent, so I was suggested some Dulcolax to relieve it. By 6 hours, I had a bad case of nausea due to some stomach cramps. The next day, I had no immediate progress, so I began to worry. However, by a few hours, I shot to the toilet and began to experience runny bowels or diarrhea. I had a few cases of stomach cramping during the process, but it was short term. I felt relieved afterwards, although I would not recommend this product to everyone due to the side effects of nausea and stomach cramps. Do no use daily.Read More Read Less

I bought a box of Dulcolax Because I am having surgery Monday morning. Its Friday day after thanksgiving. The Directions said 1-3 tablets in a single daily dose. I decided to take the Medicine at 4:45pm by 7:30 the medication proceeded to do its job. Not to much cramping a little w/ no pain. I will admit I took vitamin C & D pills w/ iron before I took dolcolax. I also ate 3 Veggie patties w/ vegetable soup no bread. So everything came I smoothly. From my understanding take 2 pills before eating and 1 after which also helped me w/ NO Pain its currently 8:05pm. Im feeling pretty good. DRINK LOTS OF WATER Read More Read Less

This is about to get real. 3 weeks ago I got a severe lower back strain which immediately led to a bad first case of sciatica. First it was medrol dose pack and flexeril with some lortabs here and there. The next week it was another dose pack this time with skelaxin. After awhile, between the muscle relaxers and pain meds, I started to get a little bound up. I was down to maybe once a day and not a very "healthy" dump at that. I quit all the meds except aspirin but still after a few days I wasn't back to normal. I decided to start eating meals that I knew would encourage a good BM. After a few tries and no major successes I pulled out the big guns. Pizza and nice big salad. Usually runs right through me. Instead it gave me the worst cramps of my life. And no poops. I sat on the John in pain for hours. Nothing. It was hell. An entire day wasted. By that evening I had passed an acceptable amount but I was determined to get through this. I drank lots of water and vowed today would be a new day. After a few weak attempts this morning(thank Jeebus no more cramps like yesterday) I bought some damn dulcolax. I dropped two tabs about 3pm. At 8pm I started getting rumblings and a little BM. 30 minutes later I lit it up like a Christmas tree!!!! It's almost 9pm now. I'm still getting some mild cramping from the dulcolax but it comes and goes, nothing like i had yesterday though. i feel like I've got one or two more good ones in me before the night is over. Very happy so far. Don't believe the hype, the cramps aren't that bad from the dulcolax. Besides what do you expect from a medicine designed to blow your guts out of your bunghole? Obviously stay near a bathroom and don't go to work or any other important events. Do a lil research before you take them as well. Dulcolax uses a special coating that is resistant to stomach acid, allowing the pill to travel through the intestines where it then overstimulates the nerves causing them to strongly contract. That's why you CRAMPS!!!Read More Read Less

This drug has caused me so much pain it's not funny.I thought I had a bowel infection, turns out it was dulcolax ,the pain has been horrendous, will never take or recommend again.Maybe their not suitable for people with short bowel syndrome, chronic wind pain, sweating, distend abdomen and plain worn out, thought I needed to go to hospital but have great fear regarding misdiagnosis so put up with the pain.Usually take coloxyl without senna, will go back to them.

Decided to take 1 Dulcolax before I went to bed. At 1:30 am I woke up with the worst cramping I have ever felt. I thought something was exploding in my stomach. Had the worst watery diarrhea EVER. Even in the morning, I still had diarrhea and it was bloody. I couldn't go into work. I WILL NEVER take this medication again. I threw away the rest of the box.

I took three tablets this morning around 7:30 because I wanted to have diarrhea at work. I didn't realize how much pain I would be in. Around 11:30, I felt like I could throw up. I decided to get to the bathroom. On the way to the bathroom, I felt like I was about to explode. I sat on the toilet and had a very large movement. I finished and made my way back to my desk. On the way back to my desk, I had to stop again. This time it wasn't quite as much, but still felt pretty good. I've been to the bathroom all afternoon with diarrhea and it's been nice. I can't wait to take Dulcolax again. Maybe next time I'll take 4. If I'm feeling adventurous. I just love the really bad diarrhea it gives me. Read More Read Less
