This product is effective. Take only one at a time (i took two once and was crying in pain). You should also plan to take it only when you can afford to have some quality bathroom time. You may need a few trips to the bathroom as it works through your system. Don't take it the day that you have something really imortant to do. I took it at 9 p.m. and it worked its way through at about 10 a.m. ...

I had received free samples of Dulcolax laxative tablets and took one two nights ago around 10PM. I woke up in the morning with moderate cramping, and while on my commute was feeling uncomfortable. I had jury duty that morning and as soon as the case began, I started feeling incredibly nauseous and hot, as well as crampy, and hobbled embarrassingly to the bathroom. There I stayed for 30 minutes hu...

What a HORRIBLE experience! I took the medication before bedtime and woke up with slight cramps. These soon turned into excrutiating cramps, accompanied by profuse sweating and vomiting. This persisted for about 2 hours before the bowel movement finally arrived! Remained weak and drained for the entire day and evening. Will NEVER take this medication for constipation again.

Took it (only one pill) at 10:30PM. By 2-3AM I was in the bathroom throwing up and having the worst cramps I have ever had. I did have a BM however I didn't sleep at all. I spent the ENTIRE night in the bathroom in excruciating pain. I almost called 911. The only relief I got was laying in the bathtub with hot water pouring on my stomach. I would recommend taking Senokot instead - no stomach pains and it worked wonders.

Took a pill at around 10pm last night and woke up at 3am after dreaming about bad stomach cramps. Lo and behold, I have one. After freaking out and reading reviews online, I'm sure I'm in for a long night ahead. The only thing that is easing my cramps at the moment is rubbing my stomach.

PLEASE DO NOT TAKE THIS! i seriously thought i was dying. the package says "children over 12 and adults take 1-3 pills at one time." so i took 3 pills at about 11pm. i woke up at 6am with horrible stomach pain, nausea, severe weakness, felt like i was going to faint (i only didn't because i propped myself up in the space between the sink and the toilet to keep from collapsing). i was covered in cold sweat--it was dripping off of me. I could not leave the toilet for 4 hours. i was vomiting/dry heaving into the garbage can and had severe diarrhea that "continued" even after the was nothing left. at the end there was blood on the tissue and in the bowl. there should be a warning on the box and the dosage should not be 3 pills--what if i had had to go to work this morning? what if i had fainted? i live alone.Read More Read Less

Dulcolax worked great for me. However, I would recommend taking it before you go to sleep. That's what I did and it worked great for me. I did wake up with small stomach cramps but it was more from gas. I peed about four times in 3 hours which is weird for me. Nonetheless, the pill worked great for me but to avoid pain take it before going to sleep.

I have NEVER been as much pain in my entire life! Vomiting, profuse sweating, extreme cramping. And this is day two of it after taking to tablets. Thought I was going to have to call 911 yesterday morning.

I had not gone to the bathroom in almost 2 weeks, I am very skinny, and my stomach began to protrude as if I were pregnant. I had never before had a problem like this. I am 100% holistic in my life, I eat nothing but organic healthy foods, and tried every natural way to clear my system. Nothing worked. I took one pink pill two days ago. Immediately after taking it I read the horror stories online about severe pain and how terrible it was. I remember when I was a teenager (15 years ago) taking a laxative and experiencing this excruciating pain. So I prepared myself for a bad night ahead. I awoke in the morning, no severe pain. Had my coffee and went to the bathroom for the first time in weeks. It was not enough though, so I repeated the one pill again the following night and woke up this morning, went to the bathroom much more than the first day, and my stomach has almost returned to a normal non-bloated size finally. I feel a million times better now. I never experienced any severe pain, although I would have to get that toxic rotting food out of my system, Although I will always choose a holistic route first, this helped me so much.Read More Read Less

I was plenty scared about taking dulcolax after taking two pills and 4 hours later reading the horrible, hellish side effects experienced by most reviewers. The va hospital had me take them for a colonoscopy prep start. i am happy to report i dodged the bullet and avoided getting deathly ill from them. i had to fast before taking the pills maybe thats what saved me? i also had to drink two liters of movi prep after 6 hours on the pills. and had to drink water afterwards. I am wondering why the va issues these stimulant laxative pills if so many people are getting sick as dogs on them? I feel so blessed the pills did not floor me like they have so many others. I have IBS and a sensitive digestive system so feel very lucky. It took 6 hours for the pills to take effect on me no cramping just some heavy blasts of watery poop. did not completely clear me out but it was a good start in prep for colonoscopy. good luck to all future users of this stimulant laxative. not sure if i will risk using it again. however the veterans hospital colonoscopy dept. requires it.Read More Read Less

I agree with reviewer Peraltarat, 55-64 Female. My dr prescribed 2 as preparation for colonoscopy, awoke with cramping, then nearly fainted with dry heaves while eliminating, flushed with sweat. Terrible & scary side effects.

The pink packaging "for women" says "gentle for sensitive stomach".. The adult dosage is 1-3 (5mg) tablets. It also says that it works in 6-12 hours. my experience? I took 1 tablet at 10:20am. It started out as a twinge, and within 10 mins., / by noon , it was full on, double-over, stomach gripping, cramping for a good 30-40 minutes. Like crazy pain. Granted, it worked, after those grulling 40min. And in one go. But in 2.5 hrs, NOT 6-12! Then, post-go,, it took another hour for everything (that is, pain-wise) to eventually calm down. So yeah, it "worked." And it worked quickly. BUT... I personally don't think it is worth going through with it. Good luck!Read More Read Less

I had been constipated for about three days from taking Lortab (hydrocodone) to relieve back pain, so to get some relief, Last night at 8 I took two tiny pills and a few hours later experienced the worst pain of my life. Severe cramping, profuse cold sweating, and after everything in my digestive system violently left my body, I started pooping blood--and lots of it. It wasn't just tinges of blood from straining, it was heavy, mucousy blood with no feces. I don't know how I survived the night, quite honestly. It's now 14 hours since I took those two tiny pills, and I still have abdominal cramping. I noticed on the box this morning that it says not to take it within an hour of eating dairy. I ate ice cream before I took it, and maybe that's what caused all this, but if that's the case, they ought to warn you of the severe consequences of doing so. I really should've called an ambulance, but the pain was so intense I could barely keep myself from passing out. Read More Read Less

Caused cramping and diarrhea. Symptoms caused by the laxative were way worse than the slight constipation that I took the pill to alleviate.

I took 2 tablets 4 days after being slowed down by surgery and pain meds. It took literally 12 hours before I had a bm. In those 12 hours I felt really tired and had some cramping and tiny waves a nausea. The cramping was bad but not constant. In the end after the 12 long hours waiting it finally did exactly what it was supposed to do.

This medication is dangerous and should not be taken lightly. I took only 1 pill and a few hours later suffered from extreme cramps, fever and nausea. I was being sick over my toilet bowl and felt absolutely horrific when I suddenly fell unconscious and collapsed. As i result of collapsing I suffered a head injury and broke my neck. I am now subjected to wearing a neck collar and brace for 3 months 24 hours a day. Taking dulcolax was the biggest mistake of my life.Be warned.

I do not have any medical issues at all. I have been dieting for two months now and was very constipated because of the dieting. I am not using this medicine for weight loss just the constipation. I have never taken anything to help go to the bathroom. I called my doctor and he suggest to take the little pill. He saidlike clock work it will do the job. I took it right before bed. I woke up in the middle of the night in severe cramping and pain. I was sick all morning, throwing up, using the bathroom and sweating with this pain i can only decribe a giving birth. Plus i was up and got no sleep. I think it cleaned my entire system out. I keep drinking water but I know it went right through me. I had to work that morning and if I ate something it went through me the rest of the day. I thought wow that was bad but it didnt stop. the next two days anything i ate went start though my system. It took 3days for that little pill to work out of my system. I WILL never use this pill again nor tell anyone about it. I will wait and do it the old fashion way. Read More Read Less

ok so last night I had severe pains in my colon and backside. Thought it was just hemmoroids but this pain was bad. I honestly considered going to the ER. My told me to take a Dulcolex. The pills are over the sink...hmmm yeah bad choice. The pills said Dulcolex but I thought they were just the stool softener kind as they were out of cardboard box. So I popped one then ate an apple thinking I was just backed up and having hemmoroid pain. The next morning after I showered I got the familiar left side stomach cramps...I call them my "you gotta go number 2 soon like no tomorrow" alarm. I know that when I get this pain to be close to the bathroom. No live show so I got dressed and got on train. Uhh yeah to it hit me on train and I had to use the bathroom...it wasnt spectacular and I was like hmmm it worked I feel better. Fast forward to 10 minutes later and I got the "loose" gotta run feeling. Made it to work in time and I was pretty sick with cramps and loose BM. At lunch time I was very bloated and I had to run again. I will never take this again because its like preparing for a colonoscopy. Read More Read Less

DO NOT and I repeat DO NOT take this pill!!! I took one tiny pill for constipation and a few hours later I was screaming in pain, I had sweats, shakes and vomiting but no BM. It was the worst pain I have ever had in my life, it felt like someone was ripping my insides out and I was praying to die, a few times I thought I was going to!!! The pain lasted for a couple of hours with no BM at all just severe cramps. The dr who gave me these pills is the devil and my guess has never tried these little pills... NEVER again will I take this poison!!!Read More Read Less
