This product is effective. Take only one at a time (i took two once and was crying in pain). You should also plan to take it only when you can afford to have some quality bathroom time. You may need a few trips to the bathroom as it works through your system. Don't take it the day that you have something really imortant to do. I took it at 9 p.m. and it worked its way through at about 10 a.m. ...

I had received free samples of Dulcolax laxative tablets and took one two nights ago around 10PM. I woke up in the morning with moderate cramping, and while on my commute was feeling uncomfortable. I had jury duty that morning and as soon as the case began, I started feeling incredibly nauseous and hot, as well as crampy, and hobbled embarrassingly to the bathroom. There I stayed for 30 minutes hu...

Recently I changed my diet and started eating more healthier. After about five days into the diet change I noticed that I had not had a BM so I purchased this product and took two pills before bed. I woke up 2 hours later with the worst cramps I've ever had in my like. It felt as something was trying to rip out my stomach. I went to the bathroom and had two BM and then drank a bottle of water. Worst experience of my life I will never use this product again the stomach cramp pain is not wort the BM. Read More Read Less

It is now 3 a.m. I took two Dulcolax at 6 p.m. , after almost a week of constipation, which was making me feel terrible. Turns out I didn't know terrible. The intense lower abdominal cramps came on in waves about 9 p.m. I've had two kids, these Dulcolax-induced cramps may very well have been WORSE than labor pains. Unbelievable. Then the nausea hit sometime in the late evening. I emptied the contents of my stomach (rigatoni. nice) I have been running to the bathroom ever since. I've tried other laxatives before. NEVER have I felt this violently ill from a laxative. I was expecting some minor cramping, the familiar rumbling in the gut. I was unprepared for the torture of the past 8 hours. Never again! Wouldn't wish this on anyone. Read More Read Less

I took 2 pills of dulcolax at 10pm last night, with 4 oz of water my bad). I woke up at 4am with an awful stomach pain, cold sweat, and I felt like I'm going to pass out. I was moaning with pain while my husband massaged my stomach for almost 40 minutes. After the stomach agony subsided, the lower abdominal agony started, with an explosive bowel movement by 7am, and another by 7:30am and another by 8am. It's already after 2pm and I still have the stomach cramping and weakness from this entire frightening and painful experience. I really thought I'll end up in the E.R. I will never take dulcolax again and I don't recommend it to anyone. There was nothing "gentle" or "predictable" about it as it says on the box. This drug should not be sold over the counter, but with a prescription. Read More Read Less

Thanks to these reviews and suggestions, my experience was a very good one. I hadn't had a BM in 3 days and also my doctor just prescribed a strong pain killer for my severe back sprain. Since it often causes constipation, he recommended I get Dulcolax. I took 1 pill Friday at 9:30 pm with LOTS of water (thanks in part to reading several of these reviews), and between 10:30 & 11pm that night I had two small BMs. The next day (13 hours later) I had one large BM after a little mild stomach gurgling. Then that afternoon after I ate, I had one final medium BM. There was absolutely no pain or discomfort of any kind, but I was really nervous all night waiting for the horrible pain & suffering to begin. I'm very happy (and lucky) to have avoided that hell! I echo previous recommendations to drink lots of water and stay home for a couple of days. Also, I suggest taking just 1 pill at a time and seeing how your body handles it. Read More Read Less

It has helped me have a bowel movement without the cramping that I have had with other products. It is easier to use and definitely has a more pleasant taste. I would recommend it to anyone who needs it. I saw where were one lady said she had blood after taking it, that's from the 8days of being constipated and could have a blockage in bowels. I am in recovery from anorexia & was experiencing constipation. I had not had a bowel movement for 4 days despite using osmotic laxatives such as Movicol and MgLax. My Dr suggested that I give Dulcolax a try. I took 2 pills at 8.30pm in the evening with a big glass of water, as directed on the packet. 8 hours later (at 4.30am) I was woken up by some mild cramps in my stomach. I went to the toilet and had a bowel movement. It was not big, but it was definitely an improvement & I felt much better afterwards. I returned to bed only to be woken up again, 10 minutes later, by some more mild cramps. I visited the bathroom again and had a second, albeit smaller, bowel movement. I returned to bed and had a restful sleep after that. I did not experience any other side effects from this medication and would recommend it to anyone suffering from constipation AS LONG AS THEY FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS ON THE PACKET. I think that drinking adequate amounts of fluid prevented some of the nasty side-effects that other people here have experienced.Read More Read Less

I took just one Duclolax tablet before bed because I was 8 days constipated. I'm pregnant and checked with the pharmacist and midwife that the active ingredient was safe. I unfortunately had not read this site before taking. I had taken these tablets twice before (many months ago) it had been moderatly painful for a short period but effective. As with other reviewers though on the third occassion I had intense stomach pains, vomiting (I had to be sick in the bathroom bin as i could not get off the toilet) dizziness and after a number of explosions blood. The stomach cramps and pain became so severe I was worried I had started early labour. Two days later I was still passing blood and clots. Do not take this medication. Read More Read Less

I was constipated with severe cramping, unsure if cause was from lunch choices or a new vitamin I started. Family member recommended Dulcolax. Found this website AFTER I had taken 3 Dulcolax, wish I had found prior. Started this on Sunday at 5pm and like others, after 4 hours, the intense pain, nausea and lightheadedness began. As another reviewer stated, felt as if something was trying to claw it's way out. While results were favorable (I am empty), it is now 13 hours later and my abdomen is still very tender and my cheeks are red from the excruciating pain I was in (hi blood pressure). Never again. Took at 8:00pm Friday night, woke up at 1:00am with severe cramping, which lead to cold sweats, dizziness, then excessive pain. Started passing blood all day Saturday - went to the hospital and I need to see a specialist now. It is now Sunday and I'm still cramping, extremely bloated and still passing blood. Worst product I've ever used used.

I would not recommend this product to anyone. This was my first time to take this product and it will be my last. It worked too well. I now feel like I have the stomach flu. The cramps are horrendous and I have vomited more than once. I'm not saying that it works like this for everyone but please read all side effects before taking this med. I failed to do so..I hope this review helps.

I took this around 10:30pm and woke up around 2:30 with severe nausea and stomach cramps...this is the worst pain I've ever felt. It's now noon the next day and I still can't eat anything without cramps and the food passing straight through me. I will never take this again.

I took three tablets last night as per the instructions after feeling very constipated for most of the past week. I woke up around 9 to horrible pain in my lower abdomen and sat on the toilet hoping to just get some relief. I still couldn't go and now not only was I horribly stopped up, my stomach was cramping very hard. I laid back down and hoped to feel better. About an hour later, I was overcome with a very strong urge to use the toilet. I almost didn't make it. I hurriedly pulled my pants down and sat on the toilet. I didn't even have to push as what felt like a weeks worth of poop came out of me. I thought I was done after my big movement and decided to go grocery shopping. This was a very bad decision. I was almost to the store when I was hit with an even stronger urge to use the toilet. I managed to hold it until I made it to the store. I ran through the crowds of people and made my way to the bathroom. I hate pooping in public and my experience was so embarrassing. I couldn't get off the toilet for half an hour. I literally had the worst diarrhea I've ever had in my life. When I thought I was done, I would stand up and immediately have to sit back down again as I passed more and more liquid. I decided to take my chances and return home. I made it home, but I haven't seen any relief from this diarrhea. I wish I was still constipated. At least I was only in pain. Now I'm in pain and can't even leave the bathroom. Read More Read Less

After 4 days of constipation I took this pill at 8pm last night. This morning I was in extreme agony for about 3 hours. The stomach cramps felt like someone was pulling out my intestines and then stabbing them. It took all my strength not to call an ambulance. DO NOT take this pill. The pain alone makes the result not worth it. I cannot stress highly enough to stay away from it. I can't believe it is available at all!

Had constipation for a few days and needed help. I went to the chemist who recommended Dulcolax. I took one tablet at 10.30am because I needed help asap so expected relief from 16.30pm onwards. Sure enough, after 6 hours I went to the toilet successfully and was happy with this. I went to bed at 10.30pm but woke at 3am with pains from hell. I thought I would die, pain on a par with kidney stones and I've never felt like passing out before but this did. This is the next morning and now I'm grateful to have a BM but that pain was something else. I will never use this product again so will look elsewhere for something without that terrible pain. Surely this product should only be used as a last resort, maybe die if you don't take the pill then this would just about do it. Buy something else!Read More Read Less
