This product is effective. Take only one at a time (i took two once and was crying in pain). You should also plan to take it only when you can afford to have some quality bathroom time. You may need a few trips to the bathroom as it works through your system. Don't take it the day that you have something really imortant to do. I took it at 9 p.m. and it worked its way through at about 10 a.m. ...

I had received free samples of Dulcolax laxative tablets and took one two nights ago around 10PM. I woke up in the morning with moderate cramping, and while on my commute was feeling uncomfortable. I had jury duty that morning and as soon as the case began, I started feeling incredibly nauseous and hot, as well as crampy, and hobbled embarrassingly to the bathroom. There I stayed for 30 minutes hu...

I took this laxative because I suffer from IBS. I usually use miralax to help with regularity, but I decided I would try this pill. I will NEVER EVER again take this!!! I have never had such severe and horrible cramps as I did with this medication. I have taken other laxatives in the past, they took 6-12 hours to work like in the description and had minimal cramping followed by a BM. I took this medication at 12am before bed and woke up at 4am with severe stomach pains and nausea. I experienced body sweats, severe nausea almost to the point of vomiting, body chills, and felt absolutely exhausted. It is now 10:30pm the next day and I am still having mild cramps and having to go the bathroom constantly. Even though it relieved my constipation, it was a horrible experience and will never go back to it again.Read More Read Less

Most painful cramps I ever experienced and I am a 68 y/o woman. Intense pain so excruciating that it made me nauseous, broke out in a sweat, did empty my bowels but at a terrible price. Will not take again.

I am on a lot of meds for arthritis and fibro so I usually drink Miralax and occasionally Colace. Once in a while I need something more and I don't know what made me try Dolcolax but it nearly killed me. It was the tiny tan pills and I'm wondering reading these if there is a difference between Dolcolax pills and that there is something way more concentrated or intense with this pill. I am 42 and I took 1 pill at 1pm at home. Nothing. Was heading to bed at 11pm and with no warning my heart started pounding and thumping so extremely hard and fast it made my eyesight go black, my hearing went, I almost passed out.. was so weak I barely crawled to my bed peeled my shirt off opened the window and was pouring with sweat. As I laid there I couldn't move and sweat just ran off me which continued for over an hour. I couldn't even move to get to phone to call anyone. My heart was going crazy (eyesight came back) hearing still muffled, sweat still pouring, stomach pain I can't even describe and I've had kidney stones (twice) stomach surgery, shoulder surgery, a child, many many horrible painful health issues but this was so severe it was more than I could bear. I felt like I was being gutted and having a heart attack at same time.. oh and nauseous but no bm. This went on for hours and hours and next day I couldn't eat and could barely handle just a little fluid. This (at least this specific pill) needs to be taken off before it kills someone). If my dad would have taken it with his heart issues he would have died!! I have no idea why it triggered what it did with my heart but I thought I was gonna lay there and die and never experienced such excruciating pain and believe me I have been through quite a lot in my life but this was horrid!! Totally unnecessary for an over the counter med!Read More Read Less

I hadn't had a full bowel movement (only pellets) for about a week. I took 2 tablets before bed and had minor cramping in the morning and then a bowel movement. Slightly more mild cramping and then another more watery bowel movement. I made sure to drink plenty of water after taking the medication at night. It gets the job done. I did not experience severe cramping and pain like some of the other people on this thread.

Do NOT take this drug. I'm currently 6 hours into my first dose of this stuff and it is not doing much to help me go more. The pain in my abdomen is absolutely horrific and I'm on the toilet wreathing in pain every 5 minutes. Taking this was medicine was a huge mistake and I will be throwing away the rest of the pack.

I have never had such a bad experience with a laxative before. I took three pills at 8:00 AM expecting to go that afternoon. After waiting all day, I decided that the pills did not work. At 10:30 that night, I started to feel very sick.. I ran to the bathroom where I threw up like 10 times. I thought it was over and I went back to bed. Not even one minute later, I was overcome with the need to use the bathroom. It was then that I knew that the laxative was starting to work. I went once, which relieved my constipation. I went again. It was turning more and more liquid. I was woken up throughout the night with diarrhea. In the morning, I woke up to the feeling of accidentally voiding my bowels. It was still entirely liquid and I accidentally had diarrhea in my underwear. Luckily, nothing got on the bed. If that wasn't enough, I had to go to work, where I had diarrhea even more times.Read More Read Less

Horrible nausea and stomach pain. I read one other review that said to plan to stay home for 2 days. That is ridiculous. You shouldn't have to step out of life for 2 days using a laxative. Never will buy again. The Box says overnight comfortable relief. lol It is anything but that.

Started this med because of an anal fissure. Prescribed by a doctor twice a day with plenty of water. Fortunately, I have not had any of the cramping that others have. The only problem I had was not having a BM every day so increased my fiber intake to help. Would recommend this to any one with the information that it's necessary to drink a lot of water which helps prevent cramping.

I used Ducolax to clear my bowel by taking one pill. Next day I had smooth bowel movement. Surprisingly, my blood-glucose dropped by 20 points. Now I am taking one pill frequently to keep my sugar under control. Let me know if others all have same experience. Also want to know if Ducolax can cause any liver or other damage if used for long-time.

I took 2 Dulcolax tabs as requested by my gastroenterologist the day before a colonoscopy. It starts to work within 3-4 hours. The cramps that everyone is talking about last for 30 minutes at most and they go away after you go to the bathroom. All these claims about the pain being so severe that they went to the ER is nonsense, in my opinion. I also didn't experience any sweating, vomiting, or dizziness

I took dulcolax at 9pm. At 1am I was awakened with horrific cramps, which lasted all night. No BM, just stabbing pains. Next day pain subsided, still no BM. At about 1pm it started with bubbling and gurgling of my intestines. I then experienced watery diarrhea every hour or so. Continued all day and into the evening.I was miserable and couldn't imagine such a reaction from a well advertised laxative, supposedly mild. I was glad to see I was not the only customer that this happened to. I was ready to contact my doctor until I read the reviews. This is not an isolated incident. The manufacturers of this laxative should be fined for selling OTC dangerous drugs. Read More Read Less

I took 2 dulcolax 5 mg tablets after dinner once, for one night. Went to bed around 10pm. I woke up at 3am with stomach pain. I spent 2 hours in shock- saw spots, tingling in limbs, fainted walking back to my bed after one bm, could NOT breathe (short shallow breaths), sweated profusely, threw up dinner and any liquids I drank, diarrhea, vomiting, low blood pressure, this went on from 3am to 5am. My husband wanted to call 911. After diarrhea and vomiting at 5am, I was freezing! Finally I was able to sleep around 6am with a heating blanket, blanket over that, even a blanket trying to keep my face warm. At times my legs were cramping, arm was cramping. Extremities felt tingly and so cold... Even my jaw hurt. Woke up the later feeling VERY weak. My eyes were sensitive, hands didn't feel like I could grasp the remote control, tingling was still going on. This was horrifying. Please protect yourself from this medicine.Read More Read Less

Horrible experience. I was on the verge of having my spouse dial 911 to take me to the hospital. I took 2 pills and was up all night with horrible stomach cramping, sweating, chills. Also, my urine turned an awful brownish color and caused me to wonder if I also had a kidney stone!

I bought a huge 200 pack of pills on sale from Costco expecting some cramping not near to death experience I had. Dear LORD I HAVE NEVER NEVER FELT THIS IN MY LIFE! I took one pill at 11 pm woke up at 4 am literally sweating felt like I was in labor, I just had cramps no bm. About 15 minutes later just diarrhea all morning I didn't leave the toilet until 8 am. I was cleaned out my system but felt sick and still had horrid cramps! I should have read the reviews before buying! The worst laxative ever! I threw away the pack! I am using senna (more expensive) again no cramping and solid bms not diarrhea. Read More Read Less

After 5 days of constipation I took one pill at 9pm on Christmas Eve hoping to make some room for Christmas dinner and get rid of horrible bloating. I woke around 5am with horrendous stomach cramps, shivering with almost flu-like symptoms. I then went to the toilet with an explosion of diarrhoea. I then went about 6 more times in quick succession and then periodically (still horrid violent diarrhoea) until about 5pm the following day. I felt unwell all of Christmas Day in bed. No turkey or champagne for me. I still feel unwell today (Boxing Day) and am lying on the bed whilst friends and family are enjoying a party. I will never ever take this tablet again and it should not be taken lightly. Really angry that it has ruined my Christmas.Read More Read Less
