This product is effective. Take only one at a time (i took two once and was crying in pain). You should also plan to take it only when you can afford to have some quality bathroom time. You may need a few trips to the bathroom as it works through your system. Don't take it the day that you have something really imortant to do. I took it at 9 p.m. and it worked its way through at about 10 a.m. ...
I had received free samples of Dulcolax laxative tablets and took one two nights ago around 10PM. I woke up in the morning with moderate cramping, and while on my commute was feeling uncomfortable. I had jury duty that morning and as soon as the case began, I started feeling incredibly nauseous and hot, as well as crampy, and hobbled embarrassingly to the bathroom. There I stayed for 30 minutes hu...

I am in bed with cramps and pain after using it. Diarrhea and a lot of pain. It made me going but I never experienced such pain. I am already 24 hours like this and the experience is terrible. First time user and last. I took 2 pills and my bowl cannot stop moving since.

Took two and few hours later had intense abdominal pain and cramping. I had a bowel movement but thought taking two was too much so the next time I took one and it had no effect. After reading the reviews I'm going to stick to magnesium citrate because dulcolax is either going to be a painful experience or ineffective.

How is this stuff sold over the counter! Took recommended dosage at five p.m., and by one a.m. I was throwing up, sweating, clammy, doubled over in pain and feeling like I'm going to pass out. Worse than child labor, by far!! I ended up going to E.R., missing work and now my whole body feels like it got hit by a truck. Never, ever again!

Wow! What a terrifying experience! I took the recommended dose at 10pm I woke up the next morning vomiting and with the most horrible stomach pain. I was in fetal position for 2 hours on the bathroom floor praying. I fell asleep and woke up 3 hours later. It is now 2 o'clock the next day and I am defecating water. Please use homeopathic means for your constipation. I am no longer constipated however it was NOT worth the pain and agony.

I have suffered extreme cramping , nausea and shivering. I will never use Dulcolax again and wish that I had read reviews before taking one tablet last night. I am still suffering from diarrohea and cramps 14 hours later. This should not be available over the counter.

Took this pill 1030 Pm the night before. At 2pm I one up with the most gut wrenching pain ever. I attempted to vomit as the nausea was awful but could not. The pain which I would describe as tearing or spasm like was so bad I thought I needed a trip to the ER. After 25 minutes it calmed down, it is now 730 pm the next day and the abdominal pain is still present and bowel movements have been minor. I am an LPN and this med is used often in the nursing home, never had a pt complain of anything like I experienced. I will never use dulcolax again. The experience has been aweful. I recommend and usually use Exlax chocolate, or Senna which is much more gentle in its effects. Hoping this is gone by tomorrow,am going to try gingerale now to see if it gets rid of the nausea Read More Read Less

This was a horrific experience. I took "one", and several hours later. I went to bed. About three hours later, I woke up from my throat in spasms of repeated involuntary swallowing. I didn't even know this was possible, and I'm 58 years old. I realized I was having severe (bile) acid reflux and heartburn, so much so that my throat and esophagus were badly burned for two days. After chewing two different types of antacid and drinking Pepto, it calmed enough to (barely) tolerate. Unfortunately, it also caused me to be unable to breathe "out". I could inhale, but I had to force myself to exhale by pressing on my diaphragm. I used two types of asthma inhalers, and thankfully recovered. I literally thought, "I'm going to die from this", and had I not recovered fast enough, I was prepared to call 911. It should be known that I never have heartburn and my asthma is virtually non-existent, unless I get a face full of old dust. I've never had an experience like this from anything before. I was really scared, and it takes a lot to scare me. I threw the box in the trash and told my family, never get it again. Read More Read Less

I took one pill and have been in pain for two days. I have been nauseated, have had extreme gerd symptoms, regurgitation, cramping and overall sick. The first night I thought I would have to go to the emergency room as I broke out in a drenching sweat and was throwing up and the pain was so severe I thought I was having a heart attack. I would not recommend this after experiencing 48 hours of pain. And on top of everything I am still constipated. Sorry for writing a poor review but this just did not work for me at all.Read More Read Less

Take it before you sleep (Make sure u're not working on the following day), the motion will start in the morning. Drink lots of water once you are awake, be prepared for the toilet in any minute. Whoosh.... Flush.... P.S , you may experience pain and cramps, but no worries, as long as u drink lots of water, it will soon be over :) Taking it too often will lose it's effectiveness, once a week is the best.

I took 3 pills at 8:00 yesterday morning. After 4 hours of discomfort, I was able to go. 2 hours later, the diarrhea started. I had diarrhea all day yesterday and all night last night. I'm not having to go nearly as often now, but it is still entirely liquid. Dulcolax got me going, that's for sure!

Worst. Experience. EVER. The box says "gentle relief" but it was the COMPLETE opposite. I took at at 6:30PM, around 10PM I started having INTENSE stomach pains. It felt like my intestines were tying together, and I was being stabbed in the stomach repeatedly from multiple directions. I also experience sweating, shaking, and vomiting. I was finally able to fall asleep around 4AM. I woke up at 8AM, and 15 minutes later I had violent diarrhea. It just came out of me. Everywhere. No warning, not urge to go. It's been about 20 hours since I took the two pills, and I still feel uneasy, nauseous, etc. Hoping this gets out of my system soon! I would never recommend this to ANYONE. Read More Read Less

After taking one pill, I cannot explain how horrible the sharp intense upper abdominal pain was. I honestly thought something had ruptured it hurt so bad; took about one hour. My husband found me on the bathroom floor crying in the worst pain I have ever had from any medication.

I recently had a tubal ligation and between the effects of anesthesia and pain killers I hadn't had a BM in 4 days. My stomach has been horribly bloated with the trapped gas from the surgery and this wasn't helping. I didn't want to wait for this to possibly get worse and cause more pain. I got dulcolax today after reading through forums where people had said it helped them. I took 3 pills at 4pm with a meal (BK whopper junior, medium fries with ketchup+mayo...not healthy I know). It wasn't until afterwards that I stumbled upon all of the dulcolax horror stories and started looking for anything I could do to save myself from experiencing that. I called my doctor who said the best way to avoid severe cramping, nausea, and vomiting was to drink water and I mean A LOT of water. Most people are very dehydrated when they use this. This stuff works by pulling water into your bowls and then stimulating the muscles to contract. If you don't have enough water in your system, those contractions are going to have a lot more resistance. When you're stomach's upset your brain can get confused and think you've ingested something harmful and so causes the nausea/vomiting in an attempt to correct it. Cramping will be worse depending on how constipated you are, no getting around that. I drank at least a gallon of water between 5pm-11pm. Taking it with food is fine, bland foods are preferable (too late there), absolutely no dairy even if you're normally fine with it. So 11pm, have stopped drinking water. 11:30pm My stomach has started to rumble and I have very slight nausea. Start burping a lot. 1:25am Cramps. Very mild though, lighter than what I've had during periods. 1:54am First BM. No explosive diarrhea, no pain beyond the slight discomfort of the cramping. BM was normal. 3:00am Stomach has been completely calm since first BM, no cramps, no gurgling, nothing. 3:30am barely noticeable cramps. No longer feel the need to stay up and am going to bed.Read More Read Less
