This product is effective. Take only one at a time (i took two once and was crying in pain). You should also plan to take it only when you can afford to have some quality bathroom time. You may need a few trips to the bathroom as it works through your system. Don't take it the day that you have something really imortant to do. I took it at 9 p.m. and it worked its way through at about 10 a.m. ...
I had received free samples of Dulcolax laxative tablets and took one two nights ago around 10PM. I woke up in the morning with moderate cramping, and while on my commute was feeling uncomfortable. I had jury duty that morning and as soon as the case began, I started feeling incredibly nauseous and hot, as well as crampy, and hobbled embarrassingly to the bathroom. There I stayed for 30 minutes hu...

I took this 6pm last night, figured 2 would do the job since it says "gentle"... it is now almost 1 pm the next day with 16 hours of the worst pain I ever felt in my 30 years. Yes it works, but with complete torture. I am basically counting down when it will be over, at some points I feel like it never will be over.... I mean 16 HOURS so far in excrutiating pain!!! And God forbid you want to drink something to hydrate yourself... it makes it even WORSE. Like is the term "gentle" a joke to these people. Take this off the market and file a class action lawsuit!!!!Read More Read Less

Took 3 Dulcolax after 6~7 days of minimal-to-no poops (first time constipated more than 1 day as an adult - 26 y/o). After downing the 3 pills with 8oz grape juice + 8oz apple juice, I then looked up reviews to see one horror story after another from even just 1~2 pills. Took the 3 a little after 6pm, stayed up until 2am expecting to blow my asshole inside-out, but ended up falling asleep (still without any cramps, chills, or nausea). Woke up around 7:30am, but with the urge to pee (from the 1.5 gallons of water I drank the day before, WHICH YOU HAVE TO DO DAILY, PERIOD, IF YOU ARE CONSTIPATED, NO IFS, ANDS, OR BUTS), as opposed to the urge to poop, but I sat down anyway. Seconds later my bladder was empty and I felt a shift in my intestines. The "urge" to poop wasn't there, simply the ability to after my bladder was emptied. I managed to make a solid bowl movement, followed by pretty loose/diarrhea-y contents, but not in any explosive or messy sense, it all came out very smooth and easy. This was just under 3 hours ago that I woke up and went, and have since had one more loose stool. I expect a little more looseness over the day, especially once I get more food in me, but ultimately this was a pain-free, easy relief for constipation that products like Docusate Sodium and Miralax can't even touch (both of which I tried days earlier to no avail apart from small, hard, marble turds). IF YOU ARE NOT DRINKING AT LEAST 1.5 GALLONS OF WATER EVERY SINGLE DAY YOU ARE CONSTIPATED THEN YOU ARE PROBABLY A MORON, ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE TAKING DULCOLAX.Read More Read Less

I really wanted to give this medication a complete 15-star rating but after last night's pain & agony, I just can't do that. Took 2 tablets at about 7p and was up around 2am with sweats, trots, and severe abdominal pain...I just couldn't understand why now since I've taken this med several times in the past and can not recall any time so dreadful. Nor can I get past how such a small tablet or two can wreck so much havoc

The package said "Gental, dependable relief for sensitive stomachs". They LIED! There was nothing gentle about my experience. I was in so much pain, I thought something was wrong. It caused me nausea and vomiting. Even two days after I'm still experiencing stomach cramps. Never again. It was so bad everything I ate or drank came back up or...out. This can't be normal. And it definitely was not GENTLE. I ended up dehydrated and had a horrible headache.

Am male., 210lbs & 57yrs.. Been dealing w/occasional constipation or only partial movements for many years now.. Have always relied on Dulcolax (or generic equivalent) for relief.. When the need arises for use., 1 tablet w/tall glass of water before bed is all that take.. (On rare occasions have taken 2 but again that is very rare..) Normally 6-8hrs after I will have such a grand movement w/another sometime after that.. Such a pleasant feeling of being flushed out of what was sitting rotting inside me.. Can't say that have experienced the many bad side effects that have read by others posted.. At the most I will get some minor cramps but they pass by quickly tho will say that Dulcolax does cause me to pass gas as the time nears for movement.. Besides that., nothing more bad happens to my system.. Am so pleased that the product exists & does just what it states will do & does.. I recommend Dulcolax to others.. Take the required dose w/water & give it time to work.. You will feel so "relieved & refreshed" in many ways afterwards.. Read More Read Less

I was instructed to take 2 pills for 4 days to 'clean me out' due to previous problems. Horrible cramps, nausea, constant BMs- and for the first 2 days, everything I ate passed through me within an hour. I expected it to be more gentle than it was, but it was so bad I had to take time off school and stay within 10 feet of a toilet at all times. Even a day after taking my last dose, I am still feeling the effects. Never again will I take this, and I suggest checking with your doctor if you are going to take it. Very effective, but not without some pain and suffering. Read More Read Less

Surprised at some of the negative reviews, those side-effects were most likely caused by not following the directions. Take 2 drink plenty of water to avoid the cramping and don't take dairy around the time of use. It worked excellent for me, took at 11pm, 32 oz of water woke up at 8am and cleaned me out with normal minimal and slight cramp before evacuation. Went on with my day normally with no problems. Use properly, don't take more than two and use only if you are truly backed up say 4 days with little to no bowel movements. Very satisfied and brought complete relief comfortably.Read More Read Less

What can I say that hasn't been said by hundreds of other users: after only 1 tablet at night (taken exactly as directed), 4 hours later I was awakened by severe nausea, horrendous cramping, excrutiating rectal pain, etc., etc. Oh, I had an explosive BM, then diarrhea, but I was absolutely exhausted the rest of the day. This drug should be banned! Don't touch it no matter what your doctor orders!

Dulcolax gave me the most severe abdominal gas cramps, I have ever experienced. I thought I was going to die from the pain. Clammy, sweaty, nauseated, for about 2 hours then it worked, Bm with explosive force. It cleaned me out, but was not worth the extreme pain it caused. Never again. I do think anyone taking this product should be warned about the severe side effects.

I took two pills at around 10:30 PM and then I read the reviews for this laxative and got really scared. I proceeded to gulp down at least three bottles of water in less than an hour. The BM kicked in around 4 AM and went very smoothly. No cramps, no nausea, just a gurgling of my stomach. I really was terrified, but I think that drinking a lot of water really helped.

Returing from a trip, I had travel related constipation and I tried two 5mg tabs of "womens" Bisacodyl with water at 7 a.m. Within a few hours I had a normal BM, followed by a series of hourly, watery BMs. If there is a problem with the product, its with its continuing action, all day long, until it is completely eliminated from the colon. Watch out for dehydration from water loss, but I experienced no cramps or discomfort. The reason I used womens' Bisacodyl was that it was the least expensive and the womens' product is no different from the regular product according to product labels.Read More Read Less

It's really helped me! The only time I had cramps was when I accidentally took a dairy product. (I'm vegan!) But other than that, it really helps and easily clears everything out! Sometimes it can take awhile though.

One pill did not work. I took two and felt I was dying from abdominal pain! Childbirth labor was so much easier!
