This product is effective. Take only one at a time (i took two once and was crying in pain). You should also plan to take it only when you can afford to have some quality bathroom time. You may need a few trips to the bathroom as it works through your system. Don't take it the day that you have something really imortant to do. I took it at 9 p.m. and it worked its way through at about 10 a.m. ...

I had received free samples of Dulcolax laxative tablets and took one two nights ago around 10PM. I woke up in the morning with moderate cramping, and while on my commute was feeling uncomfortable. I had jury duty that morning and as soon as the case began, I started feeling incredibly nauseous and hot, as well as crampy, and hobbled embarrassingly to the bathroom. There I stayed for 30 minutes hu...

One of the worst pain that I experienced, And I have stage for endometriosis and I have experienced several cysts ruptures and this medicine comes very close to the pain that I have experienced before! This medicine should be banned, it feels like youâ??re going to die! I have not been able to sleep because the pain has been so severe and even Percocet is only reducing the pain by 1 to 2%. It took over 12 hours for a bowel movement, and itâ??s very small movements at a time. Do not, I repeat do not ever take this medication ever! This is not a mild solution, if you want to have a near death experience and loose bowels with a one second window to make it to the bathroom ! Please stay away from this medication Dr. Sneed to prescribe this, it should never be sold over the counter.Read More Read Less

GO FOR SOMETHING NATURAL! So, to sum it up, yes it was effective. It helped me go to the toilet when I had been having a bad case of holiday constipation. No, I do not feel that it has completely emptied my bowel. Similarly to other reviews however, this was not the problem! I took two pills at midnight (pharmacist told me to talk before bed). I woke up at around 5/6am with very strong stomach cramps. I can handle pain quite well, I’ve broken bones, Had toothache and root canal, severe UTIs, taken to hospital for food poisoning etc etc. I’m good with handling those situations. This was by far one of the worst nights I have experienced in terms of pain. 30 mins into sitting on the loo with cramps I thought I might pass out. My entire body was covered in a cold sweat. My top lip started going numb, I felt light headed, and as each wave of cramps came I tried to breathe through it. I’ve read some reviews likening it to childbirth and some saying it was worse than contractions. I’m yet to have a child, but that’s exactly what I thought. This must be exactly what contractions feel like. My body was so covered in sweat that I couldn’t sit on the loo seat without sliding around! And I’m not a sweaty person at all! First stools passed we’re solid and the liquid after about 1hr of sitting on the loo. Which was uncomfortable but a welcome relief in terms of pain. Apologies for my rant, but this medicine should come with a warning as the side effects seem to be so common. It 100% should not be given to anyone under 18 or without a prescription. More tests need to be conducted and categorising should be reviewed when this many people have such an adverse reaction. Read More Read Less

So, I've read previous reviews here about the Dulcolax and it got me really intimidated. But I haven't had a bowel movement in about 5 days so far so I thought going through the pain would be worth it. I took one tablet at 8pm and woke up as usual at 7am the following morning. The moment I got out of bed, I went to the loo without the cramping, stomach aches or vomiting everyone else was experiencing. Maybe I experienced the side effects less because I drank alot of water? But it was only about 500 ml.Read More Read Less

Omg the pain in my stomach!!!! Took 2, 5 mg dulcolax at 1 pm and finally having horrible stomach cramps, and the vomiting feeling just now started all together at 7 pm. I do not recommend this at all! Ill just stick with magnesium citrate from now on. My stomach is absolutely killing me.

Caused a lot of pain and discomfort. Took it at 3pm and just had a bowel movement at 1am. In between that time I have severe stomach pain, headache, lightheadedness, nausea and muscle pain. Passing stool(watery) did not provide much relief. Pain still exist.

This medicine is extremely powerful. If you've never used it, take only the smallest possible dose. I took one tablet and experienced sweating, extreme cramping and diarrhea all night long and well into the next day. Even after 24 hrs I am still getting pain. Awful. Next time I will try something gentler like senna.

I traveled from Texas to the Philippines and got backed up. I had not had a normal bowel movement for about 6 days and got worried. I headed to the local pharmacy where all they had was Dulcolax. I figured it was better than nothing as not excreting waste can be dangerous for long periods of time. I took two pills around 10 PM and let me tell you right around 8 AM those pills hit full force. I was in the middle of eating breakfast and had the worst abdominal pains only laxatives can produce. As soon as I reached the toilet I became a rocket. I was on and off the toilet for hours, exploding every time. They were the most violent experiences Iâ??ve ever had in the bathroom. Dulcolax poops are like the scene in the cafe from bad grandpa. Iâ??ve also had mysterious stomach pains/cramps I havenâ??t really ever felt before and itâ??s been 3 days since I took the tablets. Donâ??t take these pills unless you wish to be pooping all day, in serious pain, hate yourself, or really need to clear your system and are at your last resort. I wouldnâ??t wish this medication on my worst enemy. Read More Read Less

So I traveled from Texas to the Philippines and had not pooped for about 6 days. Being worried I had too much waste in my system I went to a pharmacy and they gave me a pack of four. I took two around 10 PM and then went to bed. I woke up around 7 and about 30 minutes later I had lower abdomen pains I knew was from the laxatives. I spent 4 hours on and off the toilet, excreting waste consistently. In a span of twelve hours I probably used the restroom 8-10 times easy. Itâ??s easy to say it was very effective for me, but itâ??s been about 3 days since Iâ??ve taken them and am still experiencing slight stomach cramps and Iâ??m not sure why. I canâ??t quite say itâ??s from the Dulcolax but my stomach has never had pains like these and Iâ??m slightly worried. I would not recommend using this product unless you really need a laxative and itâ??s the only thing available. You could end up with lingering lower abdomen cramps like me. Read More Read Less

If I could rate the satisfaction at a zero I would. I took 4 pills at 430 pm as directed per my doctor for my upcoming colonoscopy procedure and at 7pm I felt sick, nauseated, bloated, gassey and had stomach cramps worsening by the minute. I could not get off the toilet because I did not know what would happen next, if my cramps were just that or if I would have explosive diarrhea shoot right outta me again. I wish I would have read the reviews BEFORE taking this horrible medicine as I would have chosen something else not to mention other people were having horrible episodes with 1-3 pills imagine what I am enduring with 4!! They should ban this from the stores or at the least it should come with a warning label or a waiver.Read More Read Less

Took 2 5mg tabs in the evening and approx. 12hrs. later I was struck with having severe stomach cramping, sweating, dizziness, and slightly nauseous. It was actually scary because it was so severe. For a moment or two I thought, "this better not be how I die. Sweating and in the bathroom on the toilet. Great!" After about an hour of feeling like my stomach was having a heart attack it did subside substantially, but it hasn't stopped completely at all. 24 hours since I took two 5mg tablets, I am now left with severe pain and cramping, but it comes in waves. I'm okay for approx. 5 to 20 minutes and then I get a severe cramp that lasts for a few seconds. It's still a severe twisting, painful cramp in my lower abdomen. It's reminiscent to me of when I was in labor with my son, or someone is taking my intestines and knotting them up. Conclusion, I have already thrown out the box of these and will never take them again for any reason. It's almost midnight and I don't foresee sleeping anytime soon, so not only am I experiencing baby labor caliber cramps, I'm so tired. This has been a horrible experience, and I'm normally not a person who is sensitive to pain, fussy about aches and twinges, or even willing to admit or reveal to anyone when I'm actually sick. DO NOT USE THIS MEDICINE, it's not worth gambling with the chance you will experience the same type of episode. There are so many other medications available that work for the same goal but don't cause this. Miralax, fiber caps, glycerin suppositories, Milk of Magnesium to name some alternatives. i thought people were overreacting to dulcolax when i read reviews and thought, "not me,". wrong! 2 pills at bedtime, cold sweats, intense cramps and you know what... it didn't even really work. not like magnesium citrate or even phillip's. not worth it, cramp-wise. i am almost 24 hours in and i am still cramping. not ever again.

I have been extremely backed up lately so I decided to try this drug. NEVER AGAIN. I took it one night hoping to have some normal flow the next day. Let me tell you, it was nothing but normal. Later, after I got up. I had some serious pain in my abdominal area. Unexpectedly, diarrhea comes flowing out of my anus right in the middle of the grocery store. Like pouring chunky milk. I ran as fast as I could to the bathroom, but I had made a mess of the chips section on the way there. Sorry for however had to clean that up... anyways, I make it to the toilet, diarrhea still exploding from my anus. I sat down and my pants and undies were covered. Diarrhea running down my thighs. Eventually after way to much time spent at the store having diarrhea, someone brought be new clothes. I got home and showered immediately. Never again. Do not recommend. Still had pains for a while too. I mean, it got the job done.Read More Read Less

Was on cruise, took 2 tabs at bedtime, woke next morning with SEVERE abdominal cramping, miserable, went to hospital on ship, long story short, wound up in Honduras hospital and required flight back to states. They thought I had a small bowel obstruction even though I had explosive bowel movements!!! NEVER AGAIN! Take this off the shelf or provide clear warnings of possible abdominal pain/cramping. Horrible experience

I took this drug around 3pm today because I've been experiencing constipation due to an ankle injury paired with percocet. Around 5pm or so I started experiencing cramping, much like period cramps. Flash forward to about 9pm, and the cramps feel like giant saw blades ripping apart my intestines! Each time I head to the bathroom (via my knee scooter, mind you, because i can't walk) in hopes the torture will be over. No such luck. If anything comes out, it's a pea-sized poop. This goes on for 4 hours, each time feeling nauseous and like I legitimately may die. Cramps go from every 20 minutes, to 10, to 2, and I wonder if a) perhaps I'm actually giving birth; b) I probably will die alone on the toilet; or c) should call an ambulance. 11pm, I throw up food I ate 6 hours ago!! 1 minute later some hard cramps and explosive poops in a satisfying quantity. I go to my bed, hoping it's all over. A few minutes later, the diarrhea starts. Hopefully it's just one? No such luck. About 20 minutes apart, happens 2 more times. Finally decide to just stay on the toilet since the knee scooter isn't the most agile transportation. After it subsides for about 10 whole minutes, go to grab some bread and apples, Google to find out this issue is common and this medicine is the ACTUAL DEVIL, and promise myself to never ever take it again, for any reason. Now officially 1 hour diarrhea free, and I hope it's all over.Read More Read Less

Be VERY careful, terrible side effects As others have described, Dulcolax produces intense stomach pain and terrible nausea. Took ONE 5mg pill at 10pm, forced awake at 3.30am with violent cramps to run to the bathroom, painful pooping and holding a plastic bucket in my arms to vomit. Forced to sit there for 45 minutes. After that episode, could not sleep again because of stomach cramps and nausea. Several more bathroom trips. Could not face food until about noon - but the light meal created more painful cramps and frequent diarrhea, but it's just liquid now, from the water I drank earlier to re-hydrate. Twelve hours later stomach is still cramping and bloated, mind is like a zombie, cannot focus on the task at hand. Don't dare leave the house. I took Dulcolax last year and it worked ok, did they change the ingredients? Definitely do NOT recommend! Read More Read Less

Hadn't been able to evacuate for close to five days and was traveling...bought Ducolax and the Pharmacist recommended one tablet initially and another in 12 Hours....worked great. I'm a diverticulosis patient who had diverticulitis bowel resection several years ago and was afraid I had a blockage while visiting Paris from the U.S.....can't thank him enough....the second tablet was the charm.
