This product is effective. Take only one at a time (i took two once and was crying in pain). You should also plan to take it only when you can afford to have some quality bathroom time. You may need a few trips to the bathroom as it works through your system. Don't take it the day that you have something really imortant to do. I took it at 9 p.m. and it worked its way through at about 10 a.m. ...

I had received free samples of Dulcolax laxative tablets and took one two nights ago around 10PM. I woke up in the morning with moderate cramping, and while on my commute was feeling uncomfortable. I had jury duty that morning and as soon as the case began, I started feeling incredibly nauseous and hot, as well as crampy, and hobbled embarrassingly to the bathroom. There I stayed for 30 minutes hu...

This is the first and last time I will ever take Dulcolax. I took 2 pills. In about 2 hours my stomach hurt worse than I have ever felt and I'm 59. And cold sweats...wtf?It has now been 6.5 hours and the pain has subsided. I have developed a lot of gas with barely any bowel movement. Next time I would rather just use a garden hose as an enema instead of this dangerous OTC drug.

This is LITERALLY a devil pill. I took two after having experienced severe constipation following surgery. Iâ??ve never had problems emptying my bowels (even after multiple other surgeries) but this was different. 4 days into my battle with constipation and I decided to take two of these at around 6pm. I woke up around 2am with severe cramps and sweats - tried to go toilet but wasnâ??t happening so I went to bed crying because of the pain. Managed to fall asleep and then 4am BAM my whole body was shaking, I was vomiting, sweating, cramps in my stomach, arms, legs, even my feet! I honestly thought I was going to die! I managed to crawl to the toilet but still nothing coming out. I cried, prayed, screamed and called 999 - they told me to go to ARead More Read Less

Worst laxative. After I took it I experienced stomach pain , cramps for many days. Just one is enough to cause terrible pain . People with sensitive Colon should not take this.

THIS IS THE WORST LAXATIVE I’VE EVER USED! PLEASE DO NOT EVER USE! I took 3 of the pills, which is within the recommended dosage. It took well over 24 hours for any effectiveness, & I experienced intensely painful cramps before the pills finally kicked in. I’ve had excruciating contraction-like cramps in the center of my stomach for the past 2 days. I have to sit down whenever they happen because I get light-headed & start to sweat. I haven’t been able to eat anything in 2 days because the pain starts back up again, & I can’t work or sleep or focus on anything. I keep having bouts of diarrhea, which is basically just water at this point. I am throwing all of them away. Such a disappointment. Stick to ex-lax or prunes.Read More Read Less

I am taking meds for my heart. Blockage is one of the side effects. Very uncomfortable, bloated, can't sleep, etc. Dulcolax really helped me! About every 4-5 days I take one tablet in the evening. The next morning... IT WORKS! One thing I have learned and read is that diet is very important, fruits, veggies, no fast food, stay away from sugar products, and low alcohol.

Like others just a horrible experience. Almost went to emergency room. Severe cramps, fever and pain about six hours after taking it for a medical prep procedure. Five days later still have fever and runs. Going to Doctor tomorrow but I will never take this again.

The instructions state not taking more that 3 tablets over the course of a 24 hour period, and with one I was able to clear my entire tract after experiencing half a weeks worth of being unable to pass anything. This is very potent stuff, and some of the other reviews mention taking more than two tabs at a time, which I would not recommend. One is more than enough for an adult to clear everything out when seriously ill.

The worst mistake i’ve made in my life thus far has been putting myself through the excruciating pain of taking this “gentle product”. I took 4 tablets to flush my system around 2:30 pm by 6:30pm I had the worst cramping/stomach pains i’ve ever experienced. The cramping was unbearable and produced very little bowel movements at first but after an hour of relentless cramping and little to no bowel movements I did get explosive diarrhea accompanied with the shakes, sweats, nausea, and hot flashes for all hours of the night. I found myself laying on my bathroom floor around 3 am shaking, cramping, sweating and experiencing hot flashes all in the name of “gentle relief” it was honestly horrifying, I almost called the ambulance because I was experiencing the hot flashes and shakes so intensely I thought something ruptured. I looked up the symptoms to get an idea of what was going on and ran into all of these reviews saying the exact same thing happened to others and even worse. No relief product is worth putting yourself through that type of astonishing pain, use miralax as an alternative and save yourself the near death experience. Never again.Read More Read Less

I have an eating disorder and this is one of my terrible behaviors I have lost control to. I believe they should be something that you have to be prescribed and not over the counter because I know Iâ??m not the only anirexic out there that has pretty much become addicted to them and canâ??t stop using them because if you donâ??t, your whole world falls apart and you canâ??t function because of the mental instability that comes with it is terrible. A lot of people also donâ??t know about eating disorders, and donâ??t know how seriously detrimental it can be to someone suffering with it. For example, my mother didnâ??t know at first that this was a behaviorâ?¦ I believe that Dolcalax should write a warning on the package about Eating Disorders so that caregivers will know.Read More Read Less

One of the most miserable experiences Iâ??ve ever had. I took two pills before bedtime. The next morning was complete torture. I almost threw up, fainted, and felt so terrible I considered going to the er because I thought something was seriously wrong. I had cold sweats to the point I was dripping sweat. I wonder never use this medication again. It did clear me out, but Iâ??ll figure something else out next time.

I took 2 pills on Saturday afternoon and around 4:9â?am Sunday morning I had a bowel movement. Since then I have had horrible stomach pains, cold sweats and extreme fatigue. It is now Monday and I had to leave work early because I nearly fainted and have been very weak. This was horrible. Every time I eat anything I rush to the bathroom and disgusting and foul smelling liquid diarrhea while Iâ??m hunched over all clammy and exhausted and weak. This drug is supposed to be â??gentleâ?. Very misleading. I was irregular in my bowel movements because as a teacher and it being the new school year my body has not adjusted to a new schedule from summertime so as a result I did not have a bowel movement for 4 days and mistakenly took Dulcolax to help. Horrible mistake. I now may have to take tomorrow off work and it being the beginning of s school year, that is the last thing I want to do. I pray that I will feel better by tomorrow. Whoever made this, please put some kind of warning or something because this is just wrong and it has been awful. Read More Read Less

I took the suppository and instead of the 15-60 minutes it said it would take, it took 6 hours and I was in excruciating pain the whole time. I took magnesium citrate after I got the extremely hard part out the way because I still feel kind of backed up. Terrible cramps, couldn't walk. It was terrible. I probably would have felt better off waiting for it to pass but it had been 3 days. Yeah it worked but you feel ten times worse waiting for it to work.

Cramps. Could not get far from a bathroom all day. If I was employed, I would have had to call out. Very uncomfortable all day. Would not use again.

Never expected this cramping and pain.. Never again. Just am reassured that it's just the medication and not a serious disorder requiring A&E visit.

It feels like giving birth to a 15lb baby through your anus but first, it fries your upper stomach, cramps like you swallowed poison, then hours of crying from agony. Don't take this unless you are a masochist. Should have a warning label or taken off the market.

I have chronic constipation (IBS-C). This medicine is less painful than other meds Iâ??ve tried, including natural, otc, and prescription. Nothing works better for me. I take one Dulcolax anytime Iâ??m really painfully constipated (Iâ??m a 100lb female) and will be guaranteed a bowel movement within 6-9 hours.
