This drug has been effective, but left my knees feeling full, if that makes sense. I still can't kneel on them yet. I guess the pain is less, but now I'm getting other pain under my knee caps. So the jury is still out for me. I'd take anything - just trying to prolong replacements.

I HAVE ONE MORE SHOT TO COMPLETE THE 5 THAT WERE SUGG BY MY SURGEON. UNDERGOING DEPRESSION. I AM 40YRS OLD AND FEEL 70. I CANT WALK. EVEN SLEPPING AT NIGHT IS HORRIBLE. I HAVE CONSTANT PAIN, SADLY MORE THEN BEFORE I STARTED THE "TREATMENT". I WOULD NEVER RECOMM IT TO ANYONE. I AM USING A WALKER TO HELP SUPPORT MY STEPS, TOTAL MESS. THE INJECTIONS ARE VERY PAINFUL.I WISH I HAD NEVER HAD THEM DONE.

As a plant mechanic my knees were put under a lot of stress. Climbing ladders, stairs, kneeling, crouching, etc. I got my first injections in 2015. Three injections a week apart. It stopped the degeneration of my cartilage. I was getting them every six to eight months until I retired. Due to insurance changes, I haven't had them in almost three years. In three months I'll have better insurance and cannot wait until I can get the injections. For me, they are a great benefit. Now that I'm not working they will hopefully last much longer.Read More Read Less

I had 5 Supartz injections roughly 15 years ago with spectacular results. It’s now time to do it again, and hopefully with the same results

I started getting the injections in January of 2023 and the first one worked very well. After the second injection the pain got worse and when I called the doctor they suggested getting the third injection after only three days. I was able to walk out of the office after the third injection but by the time I arrived home the pain was so bad I was barely able to get out of the car and into the house. Called the doctor immediately and was told to come in a few days later when they decided I should not have any more injections but I should have a nerve block to relieve the pain. The procedure was very painful but did take care of the pain. Another side effect of the injections was swelling of the feet and legs. I had knee replacement surgery in June of this year. The knee is much better but the swelling has not gone away and I am now on Furosemide for that. i WOULD NOT recommend these injections to anyone.Read More Read Less

Just had my first injection today. Just a little poke and it was injected perfectly. The PA did use numbing spray before injection. My knee actually feels a little bit more stable unless wonky than it did before the injection. I am looking forward to my next two injections. I have no desire to go hiking or play tennis. Just to be able to resume my normal routine will be a blessing.

Age male 70. 6 years series of 3 shots every 6 months. Knee surgeon injects them. The best thing is to lose weight for your knees. After each injection I dont walk much sit around or lie down for 48 hours. I let the medicine stick to the bones and any cartilage left. This is very important for it to work in my opinion. Some people cannot tolerate the injection I have no problems with the injection. postponing surgery as long as possible.

It's been over 5 years since I got my two sets of 3 injections. The only issue was a slight swelling of my knee for a few days, but then it dissipated. Possibly party of the decreased pain was losing 15 lbs, much less pressure on that knee. All in all, great, though!

My left knee has needed replacing for a handful of years but I have been getting the set of three Supartz injections about every 1yr +/-. The 1st injection hurts like the dickens and takes a couple days to feel "normal". After the next 2 my knee feels great. it can still get wonky sometimes but nothing like it is without the injections. These have been a Godsend for me. I do think you need a knee specialist to inject it just right to get the maximum benefit though.

I ve been getting the supartz injections (series of 5) every 6 to 8 months for several years now and have had excellent results. Xrays of my right knee indicate bone on bone in the joint, but with the supartz, I am able to bike, walk, and hike. No need for knee replacement yet. My Dr. Is the best at giving these injections and numbs the area before she starts. If your knee has inflamation, it will hurt more initially, but subsequent shots in the series weren t bad at all. Get a good practioner to administer the shots! I always take it easy the day of the injection, and have never had any bad reactions to it. I highly recommend this treatment. It has worked very well for me. LJARead More Read Less

I have been getting Supartz injections for 8 yrs now. The first series of 3 injections over 3 weeks lasted 1 1/2 years. The second time lasted 2 years. The Dr sprays the injection site with freeze spray then injects med to side of knee just above the kneecap. It is a thick gel-like substance so you feel pressure and it can be uncomfortable but not too bad. One time my Dr had an emergency on 2nd shot day so another ortho did it. She injected the med just under the kneecap, different then my Dr. It hurt so bad I almost passed out! I have a high pain tolerance but not for her technique. So maybe that's the pain complaint others have. Get a good ortho and you will have a better experience. This med is a game changer for me. Read More Read Less

I had the injections in my knees in 2013 and the results were excellent. No pain associated with the injections. I am just now starting to have pain again in my left knee. I highly recommend trying before going the replacement route. I just wish it could be used in other joints.

The injections were extremely painful. One injection caused an involuntary relex movement and blood spurted out all over. I listened to other patients screaming or making loud exclamations (like I did). After the first set, I could barely walk for hours afterward. That is included in the manufacturer's list of side effects. The doctor did not warn me, nor did he believe it happened to anyone. I have stage 4 out of 4 of osteoarthritus in both knees. Supartz did not effect my pain, and it's slightly worse. Never again.Read More Read Less

After just 1 shot I had severe pain and swelling in leg and was unable to bear any weight on it for 24 hrs. Bad headache and back pain for 3 days and didn’t feel well for a week. Knee doesn’t click as much but still sorer than it was before the shot.

Relief has lasted between 6 months to almost 1 year. Works best if start injections as soon as first bit of pain returns. Have taken for 9 years.

I was given supartz injections over the summer. I was optimistic at first. After the last dose, my knees felt tight and the pain continued. After approximately three months, I continue to have pain in my knees, especially with steps and walking on hills. I have continued the recommended exercises but nothing has helped. I don't know why I have not received relief. It seems I am the exception in reading others' reviews.....

I have been receiving Supartz injections for 3 years and each (set of 3 injections) has been effective for 11-13 months. There is a knee replacement in my future but this drug has allowed me to postpone a major surgery.
