I love Yasmin!! I didn't gain any weight, my face is super clear, it's easy to use and i didn't get any side effects like breast tenderness, etc. I HIGHLY recommend it.

I would advise any young woman NOT to take this pill. I almost died taking it with the uncommon side effects. I was diagnosed with pulmonary embolisms, pneumonia and pulmonary hypertension within 2 months of taking this pill. when i was prescribed Yasmin, no steps were taken to ensure I would stop smoking, loose weight etc, it was a 5 minute appointment with my gp and I was sent on my way. I actually chose this product for all reasons, Acne, Birth Control, PMDD. I had originally wanted to stop my period completely since my Acne was primarily caused by my period. So my periods before beginning Yaz went slightly like this: 1 week after ending period slight cramps would begin, then I would break out, then my very heavy very painful time of the month would begin, causing a bad mood, tiredness, SEVERE cramping. From beginning to beginning was never more than 25 days and usually 20-22 apart. It was so bad I have actually had to leave work a number of times. This month no acne, minimal cramping, I haven't actually had a period yet and I begin a new pill pack in 36 hours. I do not have problems with hair loss, I have had problems sleeping but maybe due to another medication I recently began taking at night instead of in the morning. Bottom Line: I have suffered for years with painful periods, my mom always told me it would get better as I age but it never actually did. I have had very bad side effects with this BCP. It is effective in that I did not get pregnant, however, emotionally, 2 weeks out of the month I was a wreck.
