I've used Aviane for about 6 months now. The first 3 months it decreased my feelings of depression before my period started, cramps were very minor and my period lasted about 3 days. Now, six months later I am getting headaches a week before my period, cramps about 3 days before my period, and my period is very dark. The acne has spread over a period of 2 weeks. I am planning on switching to another contraceptive.

im on my second batch of pills, the first month that i took these pills it sucked! i had my period the whole entire time, but my doctor said that it was normal and that some woman could have their period or spotting for 2 months! other than that ive had the worst headaches ever, now i just make sure to eat something with them and im fine. i love this birth control so far. my sex drive is up like crazy, and my boobs are getting big, so i guess thats an extra that comes with it! lol.

I started taking aviane for acne. Within a week it had cleared up my face and the acne is pretty much gone. No new zits, waiting for the old ones to heal completely. My only complaints are that it made me nauseous and it causes breast tenderness. I started taking the pill at night time and I don't feel sick anymore. Advil takes care of the tenderness.

I have been taking this pill for birth control for 3 weeks and I have been bleeding every day since about day 3 on this pill it was horrible at first now it has lessened up but IT WONT STOP!! is this normal? will it stop when should I say something to my doctor I have never taken birth control pills before and only started because I was prescribed metformin for diabetes and that also treat poly cystic ovary syndrome so my doctor said I should be taking birth control as well..please Help I need advice, I can't stand this!!Read More Read Less

I switched from Tri-Sprintec (ortho try cylen lo) to this one, becuase after being on that pill for months, It never regulated my period and made me eat like a heifer. After two months on this pill I feel much better, losing a bit of weight and my sex drive is so much better. My period is also relatively short (4days), so I have no complaints yet.

I've been on this pill for a week and a half already and I love it. After trying other pills which made me gain weight years back. I was afraid of starting this pill since of my bad experience with the other pill. I haven't gain no weight, my apetite hasn't increase, the only thing is that my period was about 1 week 1/2 ago and i still have a little of spotting. I usually take it at night so i pass my sideeffects while sleeping. Only the first night I couldn't sleep but the other nights have been good. I was on JunelFe for about a week before switching to Aviane. Junel made me horribly dizzy and naseous which Aviane doesn't. But 3 days ago I got my period which is heavier than before I started taking the pills and I've also had horrible cramps for the past 3 days and I almost never got cramps before.

I have tried several different pills, including Yaz, and this one has worked really well for me. I started having chest pains, legs pains and tooth problems with three months of using Yaz. Big red flags as we all know! So I came off of it and started using Aviane. I've been through five packs and have experience these side effects: little bit of nausea about five hours after taking it (although it seems like if I take the pill with a full glass of water and a snack I don't get the nausea), weight gain that is hard to shed, bigger but VERY sore breasts, very tired a lot of the time and a weird aggression that is hard to shake! My periods are also longer...seven to eight days now where on other pills it was four to six. My periods are sooooooo less painful though. I've forgotten to take it a couple times and even with doubling up it does not make me deathly ill like some of the other pills. My ache has gotten a lot worse but I'm riding it out to see if it will clear up after a few more months. This is not the pill for me! It has given me severe headaches, acne, and I am even moodier than before I began. My doctor prescribed this to even out my hormones after having children and nursing. It is doing the opposite! I am breaking out badly and have never had a problem with acne. My appetite has increased incredibly, as well. I just called my doctor to discuss going off of it. Headaches, weight gain, acne, and moodiness are not things I need in my life!

I have gone through three packs of this pill and I HATE it! I am the grumpiest person ever and it has made my BP sky rocket! I have aboslutely no sex drive and I have gained more than 10 lbs depsite my diet and exercise changes. I am going to the doc this week and I might stop taking BC all together. I used Mirena for about 9 months after the birth of my son least year but had it removed due to severe pain depite adjustments to the placement. By far the best birth control I've ever had. I tried 2 before and they sucked. They made me gain weight and didn't even help with my period which is one of the major reasons why I got on birth control. When I first started it, it gave me major mood swings but after about 2 weeks it stopped. That was the only bad part. While on it for only 2 months I lost about 15 pounds and it helped so much with my periods. They are light, short, and I have barely any cramping. I have been on this particular BC for over six years. I am 25 and took it as a result of a bad experience with Loestrin. I personally like the pill. I haven't had any migraines, weight gain or moodiness. The only issue I have is a decreased sex drive. I have recently though about trying another BCP to have a sex drive again. My doctor has prescribed Yaz, after reading the reviews of Yaz, I think I will be sticking with Avaine. All around good BCP though. Light and short periods and no spotting ever! Read More Read Less

Easy to use and very effective. Accidentally skipping a dose allowed me to take it as soon as I remembered. I was careful for the next few days thereafter...just to be on the safe side.

Took Aviane for a few months, and wasn't very pleased with it. I was very moody and became angry all the time, which almost caused my dad to kick me out of the house. It almost completely killed my sex drive, messed up my menstrual cycle to make my periods come 3 or 4 days earlier each time, and made me gain about 15-20 pounds of weight. Just switched to Yaz last week, hopefully it works better.

I've been on Aviane since I finished breastfeeding my son, over 9 years ago. The effectiveness and ease of use are typical for all of the low-dose combination pills (take it every day, at the same time of day and it has a low failure rate). No mood changes, breakthrough bleeding, or weight gain. I take it for birth control as well as to keep my cycle regular and it continues to meet my expectations. I've taken some sort of oral contraceptive for the better part of the last 17 years, with Aviane being the one I've stuck with the longest. I started talking Aviane for my awful periods. It helped to lighten my period but made me a wreck!!! I was sick to my stomach, dizzy, alwasy crying and awful mood swings. Felt like I had PMS all month. It effected my daily life and relationships. I DO NOT recommend this BC pill.

I have been trying to find a pill with a lower dosage of estrogen, and my doctor prescribed Aviane. However, I am now getting headaches daily and on occasion get very dizzy. I will be asking for a different BCP.

This is only the second BC pill that I've taken and I totally love it. Definitly satisfied. My previous BC made me ill, rude, radiculously emotional (would cry at the drop of a hat) and made me feel anxious contiually. I ran to my doctor at the worst of it and switched to AVIANE and I've never been better. I haven't been overly emotional, mean or sick. Plus I've had very light perids, which is beyond wonderful. I totally recommend to anyone.

DO NOT TAKE THIS PILL! Gave me migraines, daily extreme fatigue, nausea, racing heart beat, and made me vomit (and I have a stomach of steal... I usually only get stomach bugs every 5-10 years). After deciding to quit in the middle of my second pack because the side effects' interference in my daily life, I became so nauseous I had to lay still on a couch for hours and experienced shallow, anxious breathing like I was having a heart attack. It was so scary I considered going to the hospital. I switched from YAZ and Ortho-Tricyclen-Lo because both gave me migraines, anxiety, and made me mean. i did not like this brand at all. when i first started taking it my period lasted longer than usual which i assumed was normal until i got my period again the same month for another two months. my period was heavy and crated a lot of discomfort. my period never started during the off week, always the week before and lasted two weeks. i didn't notice any mood changes or weight gain. overall i was not impressed.
