I have been using Vaniqa now for 6 weeks. The reduction in facial hair being problematic has been remarkable! I find myself hardly having to pluck hairs anymore, which has dramatically improved the quality of my life. I suffered for too long with unsightly hair and Vaniqa has not only retarded the growth of facial hair at an incredible rate, it has also been gentle to my skin and I can tell you t...

Vaniqa deliberately misled customers by failing to explain that one must buy 2 tubes of their product to qualify for the $50 rebate. I purchased one tube for $93.00 as a trail purchase, expecting the full rebate, but I received a check for only $25.00. It was not until I called the company (very long wait, by the way) that they explained how their rebate actually works. Be aware that “up to $50”...

This drug should be taken off the market. It causes serious acne which lasts for months after discontinuing use.

Waxing face every 10 days and the hairs still showing up after 4, having been using since 2008, twice a day, no side affects, does make me very very sensitive to retinol products, age 70. It is very expensive and only last 2 1/2 months, for upper lip, and lower face.

I LOVE this product. One $90 tube (from Costco) lasts 6 months. The last tube I bought was bigger and cost $130. I am a 67 year old female and this product is amazing. I feel so confident now that I don't have to worry about facial hair. I can only assume that I am one of the lucky ones because, after reading other reviews, I see that it doesn't work for everyone. For me, I saw results after three days. I used to spend 10-15 minutes every other day plucking coarse black chin hairs and finer upper lip hairs. Now I find maybe 3 or 4 hairs every two days and they are finer and lighter. I apply a tiny dab, about 1/2 the size of a pea, on my chin and upper lip once a day (When the tube is empty, I cut off the end and can get another week's worth out of it by keeping it sealed with a chip clip, lol). I wish it worked so well for everyone. I LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!!Read More Read Less

Suffered with excessive facial hair growth for years...finally asked my Dr about Vaniqa and glad I did! This product has not only slowed down my facial hair growth, but has helped lighten some of my facial scars. I used to have to shave my face 2x day but since I've been using it - it's down to 1x day. I have been fortunate not to have any of the side effects. If you're suffering with the embarrassment of facial hair, I strongly encourage you to give this a try...IT REALLY DOES WORK!!!

It has worked fairly well on my chin area, making the hair very fine and easy to pluck. BIG DOWNSIDE, the hair on my head is falling out like mad, to the extent that I am now wearing a wig. Just found this website after 'Googling', 'Vaniqa reviews', since I began to wonder if Vaniqa could be the problem. I'm stopping this minute!!!! If anyone wants my 2 unused tubes, just let me know.

I've only been using Vaniqa for 4 weeks. Seeing a small amount of improvement. I am noticing that I often have a chemical or metalic taste on my tongue. Has anyone else noticed this (it could be caused by something else entirely but seems to be connected).

I think the cream works different for everyone. I read all the reviews and spoke to my doctor before starting the cream. I use to have to shave twice a day and now its only once. Ive been using the cream for almost 2 months now and Im still on the same tube. I do however wish that it worked a little faster. I still have to shave but hoping that will cut back and end sooner rather than later.

I have used vaniqa for about 8 years now, with so-so results (so I thought). I stopped using it about a month ago because I was considering getting my second treatment of laser hair removal. OMG within the last month I have noticed the hairs on my chin and neck are increasingly thick and black... disgusting!! I thought vaniqa wasn't working but OH BOY it was! Many people give up on vaniqa too easily.. if you stay consistent with your treatments (twice a day), it truly does work. I haven't experienced any scalp hair loss whatsoever.. I highly recommend vaniqa for women who are sick and tired of thick dark facial hair. I didn't believe it worked.. but I do now for sure. Read More Read Less

Ever since my late teens I've had terrible facial hair growth on my chin & upper lip. I was tested for PCOS - came up negative, went through hormone testing - all normal; I have no idea why I have this problem but I do. Throughout the years I've tried EVERYTHING. Creams, plucking, waxing, shaving, etc. I wanted to get laser but it's just too costly. Waxing worked best but I can't justify growing my facial hair that long.. so.. Vaniqa has been a life saver. I've only been using it for 2 weeks and already I can see a huge difference. I can't believe I finally found something that works. Of course, I still have to tweeze here and there.. but it's NOTHING like it was before. I've noticed an enormous improvement. I only anticipate for it to get even better over the next few months!! It's expensive, but honestly so worth it. I'm sick of being self conscious of people looking at my face. It's time for a change & vaniqa is it!Read More Read Less

I had increased facial hair growth for no apparent reason. Dark hair on cheeks, next and chin. When I had a urine text I found I had porphyria cutanea tarda. (PCT)Facial hair growth is a symptom. Vaniqa was prescribed by my PCT specialist and it works. Very few women are tested for PCT. I would strongly suggest you ask your doctor for this test if you have hair growth that cannot be accounted for.

I love this product and am glad I asked my doctor about it. I've been using this for almost 6 months now. The pharmacist told me to use a very small amount so that's what I've done. At about 6 months, I'm still on the first tube, which is great considering the expense. I have no hair loss, no tingling, which are some of the side effects I've read about in reviews. So far, no side effects. It helps me so much. I doesn't stop the growth of hair, but it slows it down tremendously. Sometimes I can only feel the hairs now more than see them. I've gone from spending an hour a day tweezing(half hour in the morning and half hour at night) to maybe 10 minutes a day if even that much. Some days I don't even have to tweeze. Some of the hairs aren't as coarse. It's made such a big difference for me. Yes, it is twice a day, but I put it on in the morning after brushing my teeth, then I wait a few minutes and put on my makeup. I put it on in the evenings also after brushing my teeth. It is expensive so the pharmacists' recommendation of using a very small amount has made the cost minimal since it has lasted just shy of 6 months. I'm so much happier and less embarrassed about my face now. Also, some mention getting acne. I did too at first. Then I started to just rub it in in a downward motion (short downward strokes)instead of in a circular motion, this has stopped the acne. I think rubbing it upwards into the follicle could be the cause of the acne, at least for me. I really recommend this product. I can't afford laser treatments and I've heard they don't always work and are very expensive. So give this a try, you might be very surprised at the results.Read More Read Less

I am very pleased with this medication. Would be much more pleased if it didn't cost so much & is not covered by insurance. I was plucking everyday and now every 3/4 days and the hair is much less and finer. No side effects noted.

I am in Canada. I was using Vaniqa for a couple of years and then the company was bought out and it was no longer available in Canada. I was sick because it worked do well with me. I went from plucking half an hour a day to maybe a few minutes. I eventually was able to buy it from an online pharmacy but now it is back in Canada. For me it has changed my life. With regards to cost. I can make a tube last for up to 3 months so it is not really that bad. When it seems like none is left-bang it on a counter and more will come out- then when seems like none is left-cut the tube and you can get another 2 weeks out of it. Try it-if it works your life will change.Read More Read Less

I don't know what happened to this product, but I have used it for years and now with my new prescription, it seems it is not working. I use it every day and it seems the hair on my upper lip is growing fast that usua. Could this be a bad patch of Vaniqa??

I've had to tweeze about everyday for at least 3-5 years now and the amount of hair gets worse. I saw results from Vaniqa after about 2 months and it worked great for the next 3 months or so. Hardly any plucking and hardly any hair growth. Then, the results gradually went away over the next 2 months or so. I'm getting laser treatments starting next week and can't wait.

The pharmacy info that comes with the product does NOT tell you that one of the side effects is hair loss on the head. Pay close attention to your scalp. If you start seeing more scalp than you used to stop using the product. After 2 months of of using vaniqua my scalp started turning bright red in areas and it felt like someone was standing over me trying to lift me off of the ground by my hair. I am still having this pain after one month of not using Vaniqa. I am also now seeing a dermo who has prescribed liquid steriods to stop the pain, redness and hopefully start the growth again. Just as horrible the hair on my head has stopped growing. It's not falling out other than the usual 50 to 100 hairs a day. But my body is no longer replacing those 50-100 hairs in the hair growth cycle. pay close attention to your scalp. Had one of the risks said hair loss on the head I would never have used the product. hopefully after this stuff gets out of my system the hair will grow back. Read More Read Less

I have had some electrolysis performed years ago (with limited success), but then I saw an ad for Vaniqa on TV and just had to try it. I asked my doctor to write me a script. I religiously applied the cream twice daily - along with continual tweezing and then at 4 months everything (hair) disappeared completely! I started using Vaniqa in November of 2007. The embarrassment and wasted time was gone!! Thank you! -I would like to know if there are some long term studies on this drug i.e. effectiveness over time/years, one application versus two a day (by changing chemical strength). -I confess, I have missed one of the applications every couple of months or so.
