This drug has been AMAZING for me! I have bipolar disorder with severe depression. Depression that would leave me so scared of life and fear each day...absolute turmoil. Before I started this med. I was having about 10 good days to 11 terrible, awful depression days (didn't think I would come out of the depression days) couldn't plan things not knowing how I was going to be. I have been on a...

I am a patient and a pharmacist. I questioned my therapist about the the black box warning and hesitated to start this medication. I failed on Rexalti and never had suicidal thoughts before. I needed to try a new medication. After 3 months of use with Auvelity I found myself in bipolar state of mind with rapid changes in mood from manic to depressed states coming as quickly as 3 times a day. I e...

Auvelity was prescribed for me because after nearly 5 years without being symptomatic from MDD, I started noticing signs that I was headed for another recurrence. So, my psychiatrist prescribed this drug. The side effects are rough for the first several days. I'm a 49 year old man. I had terrible nausea, mild dizziness and by day 4 I noticed I was having difficulty maintaining an erection. Guys with ED definitely want to avoid this drug. However, it has worked on the depression. It's just a matter of getting through the initial side effects. For some people, it may not be worth it, but for me I'll do anything to keep from relapsing into that horrible depression I had for nearly 20 years.Read More Read Less

I have had Depression & Anxiety for close to 40 years. I also have PTSD. I have tried many medications throughout the years. With some success and many failures. I have only been on Auvelity for a little over two weeks and it has really helped. It has helped my depression, but I also have severe anxiety and since starting Auvelity my anxiety feels like it is almost in remission. I don’t feel Euphoric just a calm sense of well being. It will be interesting to see how I feel in a month or two but so far so good.Read More Read Less

I have TRD & PTSD, and the Genesight test revealed that the mechanism of action for all SSRI’s & most SNRI’s was going to be impaired due to MTHFR gene variation. After taking 300 mg of wellbutrin for 2 years, I switched to Auvelity and noticed a difference within 4 days (even at a lower dose)

This drug changed my life. I've suffered from a major depressive disorder for over 10 years now. I've seen multiple psychiatrists and tried every possible combination of medication. This works. It worked for me at least. I have a new lease on life and am starting to feel like that person I've missed for so long. Only downfall is having to take it twice a day.

I am on my 2nd day of taking this 2 times. a day. I have noticed it is easier to get out of bed. It is easier to be with people than to be alone. I have noticed that I go to bed a little later each night. I have had a crying jag or 2 but they had been deserved. So suble changes. I am happy and hopes it continue to get better. I hope it works for you. Jennie

So im trying to take things into consideration with the fact that I went from taking one med to switching to Auvelity. One is, I think I was having withdraws from my lexapro. I was only taking 10 mg for at least a month before stopping but I still think that after a year on Lexapro that I was having withdrawals while also experiencing new symptoms with Auvelity. Second, I have a lingering sinus infection and issues with my ears feeling plugged which is making me feel light headed and overall not well. So far from day one this is how its went for me. Day 2 I wake up feeling completely normal like before I ever started feeling depressed. I thought that this was going to be the beginning of a new life lol.... I felt amazing. Not high, not low, just so normal. Next day im noticing a foggy feeling in my head that is making me tired and anxious. (this may also have been from this sinus infection I think is still lingering.) On the day I start to take 2 doses I have severe anxiety and it is triggering my Tourettes. If I take two with in 24 hours I feel horrible. Sweaty, irritable and my body is not at ease inside. Head tension ect..... So I have only been taking 1 every 24 hours (at night) and side effects are far less worse. I tried taking 2 doses again to see if its really the meds and again I feel all of these horrible symptoms. Im not giving up yet though. I do notice certain improvements. On the other hand I have a huge amount of stressful things going on that even the strongest people with struggle with. I wish I could talk to a doctor that knows a little more about this medication or has been monitoring others on it for a while but I know its new. Id like to know are these symptoms that will eventually go away. If so I would probably just take two everyday so I could get passed the initial symptoms. Im also juggling Xanax for anxiety (.05) small amount once a day most days and hydroxazine (spelling??)for sleep in between and I cant help but wonder If I need to try taking nothing along with it. idk my review probably sucks and is all over the place but I am going to update when I have a few more weeks on the medication. I can see this medication is making others feel very similar to me and some are tolerating it well. I really want it to work because I HAVE exhausted all other meds and I am unwilling to try another after this. Read More Read Less

When I first looked up the reviews for this drug, I was skeptical; I thought the pharma company had bots writing only positive reviews. Now I am writing a positive review--my first drug review ever--and I've been on and off first, second, and third-line antidepressants for 20 years. I have treatment resistant depression and this is the first drug that has had an immediate mood-elevating effect on day 1 within 30 minutes of taking it. I'm also a 2D6 poor metabolizer (I did genetic testing), which may explain why this drug is so effective so quickly for me. While I definitely feel almost happy, the best I've felt in decades, I also feel pretty weird four days in. Yesterday was my first two-pill day and I made the mistake of driving home from work; that was the scariest experience ever! Do not drive on this drug if you are a 2D6 poor metabolizer, at least for the first week. I also feel very strange, I guess the word I'm looking for is "trippy", so I'm not sure how one is supposed to hold a full-time job while taking this drug, but hopefully this feeling will dissipate with time. If not, I may have to take a reduced dose (my pdoc said cutting it was ok). NOTE: you will feel a low-level LSD-type high 2-4 hours post ingestion most likely the first few days taking this, but it gets better. My energy and motivation has already improved, but I am also experiencing some strange cognitive deficits, like looking for my car keys in the fridge. I just wanted to share my experience since this drug really seems like it could have a life-changing effect for me if things even out--and hopefully for many others struggling with longterm TRD and MDD. For me, it dispelled my suicidal ideation, negative thinking, and rumination almost immediately.Read More Read Less

I’ve been taking Auvelity for about 6 weeks now. I can’t properly express how impactful this medication has been for me. My son died 10 months ago, and the grief has been so overwhelming I’ve been incapable of pretty much anything but staying in bed & crying. I absolutely could not have any social interactions without completely breaking down. This medicine has brought me to a stable mental state that has allowed me to participate in life, I don’t break down every single day, I don’t obsessively dwell on all the “what if’s” concerning my son’s death; I’m not experiencing what I would consider happiness, but I’m functioning, and I’ll take that over being paralyzed in my bed.Read More Read Less

Horrible experience, I felt I was in slow motion, dizzy, drugged. I was so sleepy I had to get in bed for 8 hrs straight . Had to stop after 3 days.

Tried it for a week. It tempered my depressive thoughts somewhat. I did not like side effects: spacey, a little tired, felt like I'd taken too much cough syrup. I'm 65 and maybe a full dose was too much. I might wait a bit and try this drug again at half dose. Good luck to all other depression sufferers out there; I hope this new medication or another med provides the relief you deserve.

I have tried about every single standard ssri/snri and nothing has worked for me. Prozac being the absolute worst of them. I was really hopeful starting Auvelity after reading the Gemini study. It’s worked pretty well for me so far. I’m not as severely depressed and the negative thoughts are starting to get drowned out. I’ve felt a little uncomfortable at times with weird thoughts but I think those will go away with continued use (on week 2). One thing that I’ve noticed my dreams are extremely weird. Very vivid and realistic. Almost everyday I’ve woken up with anxiety and been a little panicked but it immediately goes away after 10 mins max for me. I’d recommend trying it but remember everyone has a different body chemistry and doesn’t work the same for everyone. hoped this helped a little!:)Read More Read Less

I am a Veteran of the US Army and have been suffering with PTSD for the last decade. I am on week 3 and so farm side affects have been minimal (headaches and up set stomach). The pros have been unbelievable- clear minded, methodical, not inside my own head, thinking clearly, seems like a fog has lifted. I have tried other anti-depressants with not much luck. Looking forward to the next part of life and hoping this drugs continues to help. It has been amazing so far!

As a mom I constantly worry about my daughter... let me you what. This is a miracle drug. My daughter is in her early 20's and has struggled with depression. After the first week we both could tell a notable difference. Her moods seem to be more regulated. Previously she has been on wellbutrin. Her side effects are very minimal compared to previously drugs. Fingers crossed but so far so good.

This drug brought me out from a 30 year fight with depression. Nothing else works. I have PTSD and it is helping me dissolve the past experiences and bad memories. I feel like I am in control of my own mind now. At first you might feel a little noxious or uncomfortable, but all that goes away after a week of using it. This drug fights PTSD. I think this is absolutely amazing.

I have tried other antidepressants with no luck. The fact I feel better in a weeks time is God a send. Looking forward to getting my life back. Hang in there people their is hope... Much LOVE

I've been taking this for 4 weeks now, and I have nothing but good things to say. Yes, it is very early to be reviewing a drug, but in the past at the 4 week mark, the side effects were very obvious. However, after 4 weeks on this, I have literally no side-effects, which is absolutely flooring, given that all other treatments, at a minimum, gave me one side effect.

It's only day 2 of this med. Reading others reviews have always helped me so i'd like to do the same for others. Slight headache and stomachs a little messed up. Other than that no real changes yet. I will update a week in.

I have taken Prozac for the past five years and it just stopped working, so we are trying this new medication. I’m on my third day and I feel like I’m high, nauseous, dizzy, and the worst anxiety ever. I will be stopping this medication immediately.
